Had a great time at Larks and Lanterns! We had a wonderful welcome and given advice on walks in the area. The walks take you up and round the area and not difficult even for a novice. The accommodation is very homely and the beds really comfortable with a duvet and a throw to keep you really warm. The toilet and shower are immaculate with lashings of hot water and a powerful shower. The wood burning stove is easy to light and use ( with a little cooking experiment😂 ) and keeps the tent really, really warm. When we arrived it was pouring down and later that evening the temperature dropped, so I lit the wood burner and thought it’s not going to keep us warm. After about 30 mins I was walking round in my boxers as it was soooooo warm and kept the whole tent warm! We will definitely return in the future.
Pros
Tent homely and comfortable
Really warm
Comfy beds
Wonderful scenery
Great showers
Fantastic walks
Great for wild life and watching the local sheep farmers with their working dogs
Dog friendly

Cons
The tent can rattle a little in high winds ( that’s why 4* not 5*)

So if you want a good Glamping experience, I would definitely recommend Larks and Lanterns.

Thanks for the review, & for coming to stay - we are delighted that you enjoyed it. As for the wind & the tents - yes wind is always the big (& generally, the only....) challenge to cosy glamping. Having said that, we had a storm in 2018 which blew down 10,000 TONS of timber, ripped off barn roofs, etc, etc - & the tents suffered one cracked window! So they are robust, but I agree in a high wind, they can be noisy. Still, my wife says it is not as bad as my snoring!

WOW! We have just spent an amazing weekend in these lovely safari tents. We booked the whole site as we were celebrating my wife’s 40th birthday with our close friends. The tents are huge, they might not have electric but they have nearly everything else.
The beds and bedding are wonderful and comfy, all the fixtures and fittings are in keeping with the glamping theme, and it was a home from home.
The site is immaculate, nicely cut paths and meadow grass with loads of wild flowers.
The large decked veranda (that each tent has) was the setting for our party where we had cocktails and beers late on into the night. Whilst we managed to bbq enough food for 18 of us on a single fire pit! This place is brilliant, if you want to get away from the world, just for a weekend, then this is the place to go.
Debbie and Keith manage the site and run a pretty tight ship, I was met on arrival and shown around and then left alone to our own devices (Debbie can be contacted by phone if needed - however unlikely).
The honesty shop has a few essentials just in case you forgot something, plus there are books and board games should you need alternative entertainment.
A real gem of a place.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our glamping at Bleasdale, great location, so comfortable and everything you could think of is provided. All very efficient. The flower bowl entertainment centre was a great attraction for families. We very much hope to go back next year.

Absolutely loved this place! The site itself is well maintained, dog friendly and has amazing views. Really peaceful and Bluebell Valley/the swimming pond is a lovely place to go and waste away a few hours! Having minimal phone signal was a surprisingly welcomed bonus.

The tent has everything you could ever need and they supply plenty of lanterns so you aren’t in pitch black when the sun goes down! Beds are really comfy and it was spotless on arrival.

The site managers, Debbie and Keith, were extremely welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. The place was lovely enough, but having such a nice couple running the place makes it even better.

We’ll certainly be visiting again.

This was our family's first real holiday as a short break since 2019. Booking online was simple and any queries were answered promptly with the chat function. Our arrival guide was very useful to aid the sat nav directions to the site. On arrival, we were greeted personally by site manager, Debbie who showed us around our tent. The tents are an amazing size and spaced apart to allow privacy. The site itself is very peaceful. I enjoyed the wildlife - masses of wildflowers, butterflies and moths galore, a hare outside our kitchen window one morning and the birds of course. Do remember your insect repellent. Our kids (6 and 4) enjoyed meeting and playing with other children on site in the central mown grass area and as parents, we could site on our deck and hear/see them without worrying. It was a great place to just switch off and chill out.

Just returned from an amazing stay in Bleasdale. The tent was superb and had everything you could possibly need. The only thing you need to take with you is food and drink as everything else is provided, from a great range of kitchen utensils to candles, washing up liquid, first aid kit and a full set of barbecue tools.
Even if the weather is terrible there is plenty of space in the tents to not feel cramped and if the weather is good there is plenty of outdoor space for games of rounders or cricket as well as fabulous walks on the doorstep.
The site managers are extremely welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. They contacted us before our arrival and asked if we would like the wood burner to be lit for our arrival! As we arrived in torrential rain this was a much appreciated bonus. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return, but hopefully for more than 2 nights next time.

We just returned to the Bleasdale with my friends for 2 nights. I would say it was my best experience ever. We arrived late to the tent around 10, but Sandra which was our site manager waited for us to arrive and kindly guid us to the tent. Our tent was separated from the other ones, location was perfect. Inside the tent, it was super clean, and a cozy vibe. There was no electricity, but it was definitely worth it, we lighten up all the candles and the atmosphere was superb. Me and my friends really enjoyed the moment, it is kind of giving urself a break by staying away from your phone. The surrounding was also super nice, on our second day, we went out to explore the area, the scenery was amazing. When we came-back, I left my camera there, but Sandra was super kind to send it back to us with charging us anything. We were super lucky to have Sandra as the site manager. We will comeback again for sure.

Bleasdale is a wonderful spot in the middle of nowhere!! Just what we all needed. The kids had a great time playing outside in the huge field, making friends with the other kids. The tents were comfortable and well equipped, and thank goodness for the unlimited wood, we had the wood burner on for a few days as the weather was changeable. The beds are really comfortable and hot water bottles were a plus! We stayed at the Rutland Water site a few years ago and we just love the experience glamping gives us!! fun for the kids but comfort for the adults!! A walk down the lane brings you to the wee village of Bleasdale, a beautiful church and stunning view of the fells. We saw hang-gliders jumping off the tops. Garstang is not too far away, after a wander along the main street we enjoyed ice-cream and topped up our grocery supplies. Marshmallows toasted on the campfire was a must every evening!!

A lovely site with lots of privacy for each tent. The tent was comfortable, beautifully clean and our host Debbie very welcoming. The stream was great fun for paddling. Short drive to lovely Beacon Fell country park.

The only extra that would be helpful would be information in the information pack about where to do food shopping locally. Particularly given there are (understandably) only cool boxes.

This was our first family holiday and oh was it special! Stunning 360 views, plenty of space for the kids to play/bike onsite and surrounding area. Very spacious but cosy accommodation with all the home comforts you want when camping. If you love wildlife and want a laid back holiday this is perfect. On our last evening we even had a visit from a barn owl which was so lovely! Jo, the site manager is very friendly and has a wealth of information to offer. Overall a fantastic holiday, Thank you

Hi Jacquelyna. Sorry not to repsond earlier - I missed this comment. Glad you enjoyed your stay & thanks for the review. We are closed for winter now (December) , so most of our guests have all gone. Not the barn owl though. However I am relieved that he is not actually lodging IN the tents. Hope you both meet again next year.
