Detailed Reviews
Lovely welcome from reception. We were directed to our very well equipped 2 bedroomed apartment and shown where everything was.
The apartment had a large double bedroom with ensuite, a second twin bedroom and a bathroom. The living area consisted of a kitchen area complete with fridge, oven, microwave, hob, washer/dryer and dishwasher; a dining table and two sofas.
There were tea bags, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, a few dishwasher tablets, an iron with board, and clothes airer for our use.
Both bedrooms were equipped with the usual toiletries, towels and coat hangers and at least one hair dryer. Basically a home from home.
The views from the properties are beautiful and the immediate gardens and land are very well kept.
We would definitely stay here again.

I'm worried about writing such a good review as it means it may be booked up next time we want to visit ! We stayed in a 2 bed apartment on this occasion.
Pros
Location
Cleanliness (spotlessly clean)
Welcoming
Great size of apartment
Basics provided
Dishwasher & washer dryer for an effortless stay.
Great lighting
Sound proofing (full but didn't hear a peep from anyone)
Lovely surroundings
Cons
No bread knife (ie if you buy Beamish bread!)
Tips to visitors
This is a really great apartment in a great location for visits across the NE
Tip to owners
Keep doing what you're doing!
Only suggestions is make would be to add bread knife into utensils and also a mix of soft pillows as well as the harder ones.
Overall this is a great apartment and I'm so glad I have found it for future visits to the area.

Just spent 4 nights in one of the 2 bedroom apartments, outstanding! The apartment was modern, spacious, superbly equipped and clean. Price was reasonable and we received a warm welcome from the owner.
The apartments are ideally located a couple of miles from Durham and Chester le Street, the park and ride for Durham is just down the road. There are also plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. One word of warning, we tried to eat in the Red Lion on Sunday evening but discovered that the kitchen closes at 18.45.
If we ever return to the area we wouldn't look further than Plawsworth.

Amazing property! Great comfort, all new, everything you need is there - dishwasher, washing machine, kitchen. We booked two-room apartment: big rooms, very nice dining area, two separate bathrooms, TV in each room.
The countryside is beautiful and peaceful.
The host welcomed us late at night (we had a lone drive after work), did not mind waiting for us, explained everything. He met us if we were pat of his own family.
We are already planning to be back! Thank you so much!

+1
We stayed here for a family reunion, there were 10 of us in 3 different types of accommodation and they were all fantastic.
It's in such a great location to local pubs and the bus stop in to Durham.
We had the best time staying here with so much open space to enjoy the sun and time with family, we had a few picnics.
The owners were brilliant and so welcoming and helpful when we ordered some food in and helped with extra glasses and cutlery too.
I would hugely reccomend staying here instead of the city centre

We had ten family members up from down south. They were made so welcome and we were able to join them for picnics and garden parties. The views are incredible and the apartments are a home away from home. I loved the effort that was made, even giving my son kids gardening tools to play with so I could have a break. Everyone loved it and we are already booked for next year!

My husband and I have just returned from a five night stay here and we have had a wonderful time!
The apartment was spacious and spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming.
We came to do some family history research in the area and hopefully we’ll return to continue the research.
Plawsworth Hall and the apartments are located in a beautiful spot and the views are breathtaking.
We ate at a couple of the local pubs, The Red Lion and The Church Mouse and would eat at both of them again.
A perfect break!
Thank you.

Wow! What a stunning location!
Accommodation is top notch, home from
Home!
Modern, clean and comfortable.
Howard and Harry are fantastic hosts and always willing to chat and help.
Our two bedroom premium apartment was ready early so we could move in earlier.
Showers are hot and powerful, beds very comfortable.
Scenery and views outstanding!
We also ate locally at the Red Lion, Chester Moor and le Raaj and all very good, and walking distance eg all within a mile, if you fancy a walk!
Will be visiting Plawsworth again!
Top tip, book direct!

What a fabulous stay we had here at Plawsworth. Fabulous accommodation and all staff and owners went out of their way to help us - above and beyond the call of duty. Bus stops a very brief walk away and plenty of shops a 5 minute bus ride away. Approximately 12 minutes by bus into the center of Durham. Buses each way about every 10 minutes. Surrounded by beautiful green fields ideal for walking. Cannot recommend this holiday stay highly enough. We look forward to returning ( from New Zealand and Vietnam) next year.

As they sre very good and very popular with long stays in cottages best get in quick though. We stay in summer a d need to book 3-4 months in advance! upper floor apartments have lovely views of the countryside! You will enjoy your time there.
