Sites a generous size. Very well maintained camp. Friendly owners and staff. Excellent clean showers and toilets. Popular Kontiki long line beach. Freezers available for bait and fish. Good fish cleaning area. Safe also for swimming. Several walks with great views. Good base for Motu cycle trails. or Golf at Opotiki

Absolutely gorgeous place to stay. We had an elevated powered site for our camper with 180-degree beach views. Easy beach access for a walk, fishing, surfing etc. Great facilities - the shower was hot and the water pressure was as good as being at home. Wished we had booked in to stay longer!!

First visit travelling from Rotorua we enjoyed the site straight away. Clean, modern and a great facility. Whatever was needed to be rectified it was dealt with straight away!!! No fault to say. The kids enjoyed themselves especially the jumping pillow, walking a little way to the beach, crab hunting under the rocks across the road and walking/seeing the glow...

Just a 30-40 minute drive from Whakatane, Ohiwa Beach Holiday Park is an easy getaway for the weekend or for a longer stay. The sites are generous in size for tents. The kitchen and bathrooms facilities are clean and well presented. There is plenty of fridge and freezer space for guests. A few minutes walk to the beach. Evening walks...

We spent two nights here in early March 2017 and what a lovely spot and facility it is. We were travelling towing our caravan and took a powered sit down near the dunes. The site was lovely and just a few steps from the trail to the beach. We had a large tree providing us ample shade. The kitchen and...

Thanks for taking time to review. Yes there are some awesome cycle tracks around our area, and Opotiki is only 10 minutes away where you will find most amenities. Check out the Motu Trails for some high adventure cycling !!

During the Northland deluge of 2017, we took the risk (and suffered the pain) of driving the Pacific Coast highway along the East Cape toward Hicks Bay and then Ohiwa Beach. The drive to Hicks Bay was the worst and most hair-raising I've experienced. With nerves frazzled, we stayed the night there and then proceeded to Ohiwa Beach for a...

Thanks for your review - being slightly off the beaten track is an advantage and so many are surprised when they find our little slice of paradise. Shame you had a hair-raising trip before you got here. Safe travels

just completed a 2 week stay on a caravan site, beautifully quiet with magic surroundings. The facilities were always clean and the grounds kept in great order. Without a doubt, out of all of the holiday camps I have been to so far, this is one is tops. Ill be back.

Communal kitchen is stunning with natural timber fittings and a fab view of the beach. Plentiful fridge and freezer space provided. Toilet/shower facilities have natural timber fittings as well and are clean. Laundry is good, with washers and dryers plus ironing board and iron. Camp ground is safe, with a coded gate barrier. Owners are exceptionally helpful and accommodating. I...

We came for an over night stay with our wee dog and it was just great. I relaxed with a book hubby still got to watch the rugby and we were able to take our dog for lovely long walks on the beach. The allocated camp spots are a generous size. The facilities are beautiful and the whole camp ground...
