This hotel is very well located as it is just inside the village area, directly across the square from the entrance so easy to find. However this property is now fairly run down, especially the garden areas. The room we had was small with a hard bed with a soft topper. Bathroom was small and the capacity of the water...

Had a stunning visit to the ancient town of Xidi. Fabulous stay at the Xidi Travel Lodge of Joseph Chan. Speaks excellent English and a most considerate host; lovely rooms and serves a traditional breakfast. Do also visit the adjacent ancient village of Hongcun - with the most serene Moon Pond. Art students from all over China were at both...

When I got to the gate of Xidi, I called the hotel and someone came to take me to the hotel. He even wheeled my luggage from the gate to the hotel. After I checked in, he wheeled my luggage all the way to my room. The room was clean and the bathroom was fairly large. I ate dinner in...

Very well located and charming. The property is excellent although the grounds are somewhat rundown and I couldn't believe how badly kept the garden was after having read some of the reviews here. No complaints about the rooms though, clean and very well maintained. This is a great option to explore Xidi and nearby villages. The staff was attentive and...

This was a real "back in time" overnight stop for us. within a craft village which had me parting with lots of money, as every shop was also a workshop of a very talented craftsman. Location is fabulous, loads of art students were painting the view as it is very scenic and ideal for us travelling to the yellow Mountains...

This place is in a great location to explore xidi from .I organised my own transport to get to the hotel. I would have to say that ,this would probably be the least welcoming hotel I have ever stayed at in china. It was more than the fact that the staff spoke little English, they just seemed unprepared to help...

We spent two nights in this small and very local hotel. The buildings are more than 200 years old and belong to the local government and must be kept in its original form. The rooms restored inside, but still very simple. Nice and clean. The manager Joseph was very kind and English speaking. He was so helpfull making our stay really...

This is a special place — from the lobby, gardens, and courtyards to the rooms and restaurant, there are delightful details in every nook and cranny of this place. Xidi is one of the scenic ancient towns, and this hotel is actually an ancient compound of buildings that have been cleverly updated on the inside while maintaining their authentic bones...

Spent three nights at Xidi Travel Lodge, and enjoyed the quiet surroundings. Had a nice room facing the small garden, at night only the sound of the crickets can be heard. The room was comfortable and spotless clean. The Lodge really represents the charm of the old Xidi Village and is very conveniently located at the entrance of the village....
