Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here so we could do wooded walks and skiing and so glad we found it. Such a lovely traditional hotel with beautiful mosaic tiles and a gorgeous classical spa. The room sizes were also good, bathrooms nice but the best thing about the hotel, apart from the really delicious dinner, was the staff! Really hospitable, friendly, accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. You can park next to the hotel for a small fee or on the street oposite - on Tyrsova.

We stayed there for 4 days. Hotel staff was very friendly. Breakfast was very nice. Hotel very nice. Because it is right on the square you get some noise at night from the square. Nothing earplugs can’t fix. Bell man took us to taxi when we left. Overall a great place to be. Their little coffee/desert shop at the entrance has amazing deserts and ice cream coupe. Would stay there again.

Our car broke down just on the day of travel, and we could not manage in the late evening to find a solution. I called next day and they were very flexible. Basically it was "no show" and we could not cancel the booking online on the booking site anymore. Nevertheless they did, and did not charge any extra but gave us the same conditions for next week. I am very happy with them. It is a small hotel, very familiar, clean, has a feeling of a king's castle museum, less than 5 minutes walk from the centre. Great choice!

We stayed here 4 nights to do some hiking in the Ceske Raj area. Check in experience was off hand at best, rude at worst. They had no maps of town or area and seemed completely disinterested in us as guests. The breakfast was just about ok- only apple juice, no orange juice but good coffee from a Delonghi machine. Breakfast staff were just as offhand as reception staff. The room was large but beds two single beds which freaked when you turned over. We had a room which faced the side street and so heard noise from children going to school quite early. In all I would not recommend this hotel for the above reasons ( and we have previously stayed in a much better, and cheaper hotel in Jicin- unfortunately we could not go there this time as was fully booked.)

They apply the "change rate" they want, so if you make the reservation in € and you pay in CK you will pay more (more than the oficial price un Ck). The recepcionist with little English and not very nice she ended saying that "she had not time to discuss about this". We also sit to have dinner in the terrace and when we asked for the menu in English we got an unpleasant surprise to see that the prices were higher!. We couldn't pay a whole dinner for two with credit card, in a hotel! They hotel is nice and historical. The room is ok, but very hot during the summer, they don't have air conditioned nor any fan. So it is quite difficult to have a pleasany sleep in hot days. They don't give you any information about the hotel services or Jicin when you arrive (they don't even provide you with a map oficina the town). To be a 4* hotel with those prices I really expected more, especially, better and more friendly customer service.

Nice old hotel with a very traditional feel. Fantastic location right in the centre of Jicin. Only negative was the breakfast...very poor by any standards. Apart from that recommendable for a short stay in Jicin. Apart from that a decent hotel.

The hotel is very nice and old stylish. Large rooms and has an old style. We tried the SPA but it was not so great because the light didn't work in all places and the pool was very cold. The sauna was okey but dark because of no light. The staff is nice.

We stayed her as a base for a couple of days hiking in the nearby and beautiful Cesky Raj. It is located in a small town with a few shops and restaurants, but being less urban there is also much less English spoken. The hotel did have a few employees with enough English to do basic transactions. Our room was large and comfortable, the Lida Baarova room. Pictures of the actress adorned every wall. They were very proud of this room. Turns out she was the mistress of a prominent Nazi. There is no A/C, and it was quite warm during our September stay. We needed to open the windows, but the street noise on a Friday night was VERY loud until about 1:30 am. We were right above the hotel's outdoor cafe/bar. A rear-facing room wouldn't have been any better, with windows into the courtyard where a loud wine bar was situated. Forget the restaurant here. It has an adequate breakfast, though. At dinner the large dining room with at least 15-20 tables was occupied by one large table of 10 people, ourselves, and a table of 3. The large party completely overwhelmed the kitchen, and it took over an hour for us to get the first scrap of food, a basket of bread I had to request repeatedly. As customary there, it was an extra charge for the chewy rolls. The food was not very good when it finally arrived. Our server was incredibly apologetic but that really didn't help. As others have said, you can find free street parking easily enough. This was a convenient place with some charm and met our needs.

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of July. Our room was clean and functional. The hotel is 1930's style but folks need to check out the history of the place before knocking it. The staff were fine and helpful when asked. We took advantage of the old style spa. The breakfast was OK and we ate in the restaurant one evening and had a very good meal with good beer for very little money. We did not bother to park at the hotel as there was always parking very close by that was free. Jicin is a nice enough place - pretty quite but does have a small number of pleasant enough restaurants for your evening meals. Our stay of 3 nights was just about long enough to see and do the local area.
