Disgraceful customer service, nice as pie until they have had your money, then aren’t helpful, don’t answer emails and refuse to assist when the global pandemic hits! Would never ever put money into their pocket. They took my money, wouldn’t refund and would not transfer booking to the following year!!!! Giving no options for rebooking unless it was 31st October!!!! To camp with children! Thanks but no thanks!!!
Stayed here first week of September, large camper van on en-suite pitch. Pitch facilities first rate, felt very safe with our own wet room facilities, washing up sink, decking area and picnic bench. Public areas, water taps, chemical disposal areas, sprayed daily if not more and plenty of sanitiser points. Pool small but excellent, warm and clean. Staff friendly, shop had very basic needs, local cider and ice cream excellent. WiFi available for free in reception area, payable otherwise. Had hoped that cycling would be easy, due to proximity to the Tarka Trail, sadly difficult for those with mobility issues, it was only 0.50 a mile from our pitch to the trail but the steep in and out of the valley was very testing even with our electric bikes. First day went by the trail to Great Torrington, not easy very steep climb to the town, unfortunately due to Covid few refreshment places open, though enjoyed a burger on the common. Request bus stop at the top of the drive, to Okehampton or Barnstable or onwards, but uphill walk was not easy for us. It was a great site and would return if we had other transport available as we are not the sort to drive out each day, with parking issues that a large van or motorhome brings particularly in north Devon. En-suite facilities were A1, have looked for similar elsewhere but seemingly nothing matches the design of these well thought out pitches, we would gladly pay the difference to feel safe and secure in these difficult times. Overall a good site and we did enjoy our stay, thank you…
Rented a private caravan on site. I can't express how quiet this site was it was great. Good for dog walking down the tarka trail, had read reviews that access to the tarka is awkward. You have to walk up hill a bit but its no way awkward. The site is easy to access the neighbouring towns and beaches. Site is clean and well managed. Phone signal is hit and miss but that's not the sites fault. Plus shame about the weather, otherwise great holiday had by all.
This is our second visit to Symtham Manor. Oscar our 67k dog loves it here. A bigger than average dog walking field which leads onto the Tarka Trail through the woods, with a small stream at the bottom. We were in the field with the new toilet block. I liked the idea of a small partition to keep your clothes etc dry (which we have problems with some sites). The toilet/shower block was very clean and tidy. Shame we couldn't book the weather in advance! A lovely site and hope to visit again. Internet and telephone signal (EE) is poor.
What a fantastic find, thanks to a friends recommendation. Family owned, the site was spotless - staff always on site, and friendly and approachable. Social distancing was totally adhered too, plenty of hand sanitizer around as well. Pitches were an amazing size. Can’t wait to return !
