We were in Paris for a week and somehow had to get to the small village of Tannay in Burgundy for a boat rental we had planned for almost a year. What we hadn't planned on was a train strike in France! No one else seemed to help us until we called Dave and Dianne at Les Missiaux. They helped us arrange to rent a car which we drove to Auxerre. Dave drove an hour to meet us there and then drove us back to their beautiful home in the countryside near Tannay. We spent a wonderful evening with them. Diane prepared a sumptuous meal with lots of great wine (which we needed at that point), fixed us a full breakfast the next morning, and drove us to meet our boat. You can read other reviews about the quality of the lodging - they are all true. But I just want to emphasize what wonderful people our hosts were. If we had only known about the quality of our experience, we would have come earlier and stayed longer!…
We were a group of four just passing through to connect with a canal trip. Dave met us at the train station and Diane welcomed us at the accommodation. Lovely renovated barn, great walk thru the woods, perfect home cooking, well matched wines ( would have accepted any mind you) and beds comfortable, rooms spacious and bonus ensuites. Would certainly come again and will definitely stay longer
Myself and a friend stayed for a night on a motorcycle trip and we were very impressed by the hospitality and location of this establishment. Diane is a very good cook, there are great guest facilities in a very quiet location and good wifi. Can defo recommend
What a beautiful place. A remote location but ideal for a quiet relaxing stay. We only stayed for one night on our way down to the Alps but wish we had stayed longer. The hosts have worked really hard to refurbish the building and have provided an exceptional Chambre d'Hotes. Clean comfortable, well appointed bedrooms and a visitors lounge with tea/coffee etc as well as a vast dvd library and lots of reading matter. The hosts were very helpful and advised us on a short evening walk which was very enjoyable. Breakfast was top quality and plentyful. Can't praise this place highly enough, we would love to re-visit and explore the area in more detail.
This B&B has everything you need, a spacious lounge with TV (a bonus that it had the France 24 channel in English so we could catch up on the news), comfortable bedroom, well appointed bathroom. Diane cooked us a 3 course meal both nights we stayed there with wine, both nights were very enjoyable. The B&B is approx 5 kms from Clamecy next to the forest, very quiet. David took one of our bikes into town to have the brakes renewed which was fantastic. We would certainly recommend.
