Cleaner and prettier than most guesthouses in the village, still we had some problems on the ground floor room as the noise of the nearby wedding resort kept us awake till 3 am and in the morning at 7 the neighbours were up with children making noises very close. It was better when we were moved to the first floor. The host were super, but the breakfast was very poor for what we pay. I would improve by simply getting an italian moka coffe maker and serving a more fruit and cut (we were given a slice of melon uncut and a whole orange to peel ourselves) and give at least two chutneys with the dosa, at least 2 fried eggs not just a tiny one, and serve good jam please. It was dishartening to be served this indian fluorescent artificial strawberry jam, only to see the patron of the house to take out her Bonne Maman jam and keep it to herself. For what we pay you can afford that.

My friend and I booked a few rooms at this wonderful little guest house in Mahabalipuram. The rooms were large and comfortable and the owner, Suruvan is the kind of host that makes travelling fun.
He made breakfast, checked on our comfort, helped us find our way to and from the airport, and found a person who could administer Covid 19 testing in the guest house.
Definitely would stay there again

We really enjoyed our stay at the Blue Moon- clean, comfortable rooms and a great location so close to the beach!
The owner was so helpful when some property was left in the room- really grateful!
The breakfast was freshly made and tasty, although we would have liked an Indian option ideally!
Otherwise this was exactly what we were looking for- thank you!

Saravanan and his wife run a lovely, low-key homestay with the option of dinner, should you want to eat in. It's a short walk from most of the town but very much in a residential neighborhood--there's a reason the area is called "Fishermen's Colony." Saravanan is happy to arrange cars and other things, as needed. If I go back to Mahabalipuram, I would definitely stay here.

Located in a very quiet area, with a lot of breeze, very pleasant. The rooms are simple, don't expect anything fancy, it's a budget hotel. But they are charming, quiet and very clean. We were also very well welcomed, and the breakfast on the terrace was ok

A good value guest house very near the beach. Loved the little veranda and the room was comfortable. Pictures on various websites are pretty accurate and our room was spacious with a comfortable bed. The bathroom with the shower as you walked in was a bit awkward as it made the floor very slippy. For the price would recommend.

What a warm, friendly and cosy place tucked away in fisherman's colony at Mahabalipuram. Within a 2 min walk (literally!) from the beach and 5 mins to the local eateries and shopping.
The family that runs the place are excellent hosts and give you a very homely and welcome experience. A definite stay when visiting Mahabalipuram.

This simple but comfortable guesthouse is great value. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms functional and clean, and nice touches, like a kettle, make an important contribution. Saravanan the owner is delightful: friendly, helpful, funny. His sister kicks up a storm in the kitchen if you opt to dine in. Saravanan's omelettes in the morning are pretty good too, and he makes excellent coffee. The guesthouse is tucked away at the northern end of the town, and a short block from the beach itself, but the distance from Othavadai St is trivial, and the quietness is very welcome. The rooftop is a great place to relax, get maximum value from the WiFi, and to have a few yarns with other travellers. Highly recommended.
