The Hotel Boulis is directly on the sand in the middle of Kamares beach, with the rare advantage of being in a quiet, rural area away from the main road, yet only a few minutes walk to bus stops, shops, ceramic workshops, etc. The rooms at the Boulis hotel are clean and comfortable, each containing: private bathroom and balcony or veranda, refrigerator, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, TV and direct dial telephone. Our bistro-style "Kafenés" is a quiet corner in the hotel garden courtyard offering distinctive mezedes and delicious full meals, home-cooked using local products.

We absolutely loved Hotel Boulis. Wonderful location; a 2 minute walk to beautiful Kamares beach and it’s also central but very quiet (no road in front; just palm trees, reeds, tamarisk trees and sand ) and with wonderful views if you are at the front or side of the hotel.
Also caring, established and principled owners who care about the environment, the island, their guests and food. What a combination! Felt they could have helped with any problem encountered by any of their guests while on Sifnos.
We ate at the hotel restaurant a few times and had delicious meals with many of the ingredients reared or grown on the family farm.
The only downside is not having a kettle in the bedrooms for tea/coffee in the mornings. But we got used to having the hotel breakfast and this was a nice break from our regular home routine! And if you are organised you can take a plug-in mug water boiling contraption (name?) and your own tea/coffee supplies as all the rooms are equipped with fridges for water/milk/beer etc.

Have accorded this hotel the highest rating based on location, cost and the owners' personal attention to guests. It is literally thirty seconds from the beach at Sifnos. The owners, Lynn in particular, are very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. That said, it is very much like a motel in American terms, and the rooms are modest if not rather "spartan." We found an electrical outlet for the refrigerator but only one other socket in the entire room. The wifi is weak and fades in and out. One must be careful in the shower; the very small "stall" with a plastic curtain easily floods the bathroom. Breakfast is included but it is "spare." There is noise in the area, though not of the hotel itself. These flaws notwithstanding, this is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Sifnos and I hesitate not at all to accord it the highest marks.

We would highly recommend this hotel which is located by a 10 minute walk from the port. It’s a two storey building and is on the coast. The beautiful beach is a mere two minutes walk. The additional cost of breakfast is well worth it and it is plentiful with as much tea and coffee as you wish. The room was spacious with a sea view and we witnessed outstanding sunsets. We chose not to use their restaurant as there is so much choice in Camares but we witnessed that the restaurant was fully booked each night. The bus stop for Appolenia is a few minutes away where you can connect to other villages on the island. The staff are so friendly and helpful and take their time with you

A short walk, 5 minutes, from port. In a quiet location but only a few steps away from shops & tavernas etc. Close to bus stop. A friendly welcome from Lyn when we arrived at this beachfront hotel which serves a buffet style breakfast and has its own restaurant on its terrace. Breakfast was typical Greek style, well presented and plenty of it with tables inside or outside. Rooms cleaned daily with fridge provided as well as air conditioning. A lovely hotel which we would readily return to.

Stayed here for three days in May this year for the first time.Great choice...lovely hotel with big rooms with high ceilings and literally 10 seconds from the beautiful Kamares beach..Lynne and her daughter at reception absolutely fantastic ladies, so friendly, polite and helpful.. I had a fabulous room overlooking the beach with a gorgeous balcony and outstanding views.. Hotel is a out 2 mins walk from Kamares Port with all the Tavernas and Bars there..Prices, particularly considering the unique location of the hotel, are very reasonable indeed..Rooms are quite big and surprisingly quiet...Overall a fabfabulous choice and my to go to place from now on every time I visit Sifnos..Excellent all around..

Hotel Boulis was sensational. From the location to the facilities and the staff it was truly wonderful. Lynn, Andonis and their family were fabulous hosts. Our beautiful rooms over looking the sea were delightful. A must whilst there is also the restaurant KAFENES. The food is truly outstanding. We will be back.

We were very pleased with Hotel Boulis. It is situated directly on the beach so it was easy to return to our room to get water, fresh towels, and go to the washroom. The staff were very friendly and always promptly answered any questions that I had via email prior to arriving.

This hotel does not pick you up from the port, but it is only a short 5 minute walk. When you step off the ferry, look to your left, you will see the large blue letters on the building "Hotel Boulis" accross the water.

The beach is sandy and you can walk out into the water for quite sometime before it deepens. It was gorgeous! The hotel offers a buffet breakfast that smelled delicious, however being two single girls travelling we never woke up early enough to enjoy it. We booked this hotel online, and we ticked off that we wanted the buffet breakfast, which added 10 euros a day to our bill. However when we checked out they did not charge us for the breakfast and refunded us the money. They were really nice about the whole thing. There is no curfew, we often rolled in to our room around 4 or 5 am with no problems, just a friendly greeting from reception.

I would definitely stay here again. We stayed in Naxos, Mykonos, Santorini, Athens, Naufplion and Sifnos. I would have to say that I had the very best time in Sifnos. It was amazing. Visit the Old Captain Bar (2 minute walk from Hotel Boulis), everyone there is very friendly....and the drinks are good too (although a little pricey, 8 euros/cocktail) but since our hotel was so very cheap, we had some extra money to burn. There is also an internet cafe accross the street from the Old Captain, and two great Italian restaurants.

This is not luxury. This is not the best you can get. But this is friendly, heartly, kind and very genuine, charming, nice and you feel that you are welcomed.

It is family run so everything you get is authentic. Then, the location is perfect. In a calm area, just perhaps 50 m from the beach of Kamares. And a short stroll, just a few minutes, from the main street of Kamares. And close to a bus station. To the ferry about 10 min walk.

This is the third year in a row I visited the hotel. One can have opinions on details. For me, it’s part of the charm. Everything needed is there. What’s not there are just the things one always have at home or on business trips. This is holiday. A clean nice room with bathroom, a fridge, ac, a bed, some furnitures, a small balcony and friendly people, that’s all I need for a holiday. I never tried the flatscreen tv in the room. There’s wifi and it works.

There’s a restaurant on site for dinner with a menue that is not typical touristic Greek. More local flavour and a bit of fusion. Then there is a basic breakfast. The only luxury I might have wanted is the possibility to get an omelette for breakfast, though, that I can have all other days at home.

I strongly recommend this hotel, though, I don’t want it to be too popular, so I can’t get a room :-).

What's the best way to get to and from the ferry?
Answer from Lyn K
Sifnos, Greece
Hi, Hotel Boulis is about 600m from the ferry, so it only takes 5 or 10 minutes to walk here. You just follow the road from the port and take the first turn left, which is the road behind the beach. I hope this reply helps you. All the best, Lyn
