Great place, very old fashioned. We loved the place. Great view. The owner very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice with a lot of options. The garden outside our room lovely and cool to sit and read in. Perfect if going to MZNP

Just spent 2 nights and 3 day in St Lucia on a tour organized by Heritage Tours and Safari with accommodation at Heritage House, which was just magical . We had a spectacular all day drive , a night drive and a boat trip up the estuary. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, the food in the bush was brilliant and the...

I really enjoyed staying here - Meryck (hope I got that spelling right!) Is friendly and chatty and I really enjoyed going through the house and getting the stories behind all the antiques. The house has pressed ceilings and wooden floors, which I love. The breakfast was delicious and well cooked. Angus the sheep was a special treat - he...

Friendly service and very good meals. Secure off-street parking and choice of accommodation in the house or garden cottage. Large premises and a friendly pet Sheep who thinks he is a Dog. Centrally situated and dinner and breakfast included.

Upon arrival the outside cottage had to be accessed while trying to misstep dog and sheep poo. Worse however was fact that bedding (except the sheets) were dirty!! There were stains and bits of old food clinging to the bed cover. Slept in sleeping bag and left asap next morning.

I completely agree with Red947's review & wish we'd read it first!! The quality of the rooms has definitely not improved since then. Our garden room was beyond tired - the shower floor looks dirty & in need of a good scrub, the interior of the en-suite door needs revarnishing & the hand towel holder is rusty beyond words. The...

The internet photos are not what you get. The rooms are not award winning standard anymore. A double bed would have been nice but I had two single beds. No DSTV. Poor quality single ply toilet paper. The shower floor also needs a good clean. Just not the quality expected with the rate charged, however Merrick was very friendly and...

My wife and i included Cradock on our tour of E. Cape in order to visit Schreiner Museum and Cape Mountain Zebra national Park. Both are worth a visit but do the park in early morning to see the animals. Heritage House is well situated on a quiet treed street with some excellent examples of Victorian architecture. Is also walking...

The accommodation was comfortable, but there were a few small things that would have really improved it. The outside door did not lock with the key or latch, the mattress was not good and the shower head sprayed a "jet" of water. However Merricks hospitality and friendliness was great

We booked last minute and got a great welcome from the owner, Merrick. The Heritage House is rather different than Tuishuis (the top-rated B&B in Cradock). Heritage is a big old private property with rooms facing the pool and large and very pretty garden which rambles out to the Fish River. Very comfortable and nicely appointed rooms both in the...
