The cottage was very comfortable and had everything needed for a short break. Rooms were great, super beds and well fitted out. Nothing to much trouble for the owner Mary who was on hand to offer advice or solve any issues. The location is brilliant on the loch side and well secluded if you are looking for a break away from the hustle and bustle and the nature on offer is terrific. Plenty good walking on the doorstep. Oban is literally a ten minute drive away so plenty on hand for eating out or sightseeing. Happy to recommend this fab accomodation

Been twice absolutely wonderful holiday, highly recommend. Our cottage looked over Loch Nell, stunning views, with a Golden Eagle regularly flying over the hills. Cottage was large with all amenities and spotless.

Having spent many years touring Central Scotland on numerous holidays, We decided to change things up and start touring the West Coast. Having found Clan Cottages, we've found the ideal base to tour the coast as well as a number of the islands in the future. Clan Cottages is located a 10 minute drive from Oban itself. Although secluded and overlooking Loch Nell, visitors can access a number of large food stores such as Tesco, Lidl and M&S on the road between the accommodation and Oban. A 10 minute drive will lead you to Oban seafront and all that has to offer. We stayed in Cottage 2 - Clan MacKenzie and it was amazing. Stunning property inside and out, which is fully appointed to a very modern standard with great traditional touches. Great mix of modern and traditional in our opinion. The surrounding area is beautiful. So quiet during the day and night, with zero light pollution which makes the night sky amazing to look at....weather permitting of course! The bedroom is very well appointed with a comfortable double bed. The shower in the adjacent bathroom was hot and powerful which is exactly what you want. The kitchen is great with every modern appliance you will need. We had breakfast every morning indoors overlooking the loch. A bird table outside the window ensures a constant stream of entertainment from the local fauna. The highlight indoors is the mezzanine level. It's huge and comfortable all at the same time. There are various seating options which include a sofa bed if guests had children or more than two adults staying. The TV system has Netflix, Freesat and you tube as viewing options. Seat your self correctly and you get an amazing loch view at sunset and into the night. So relaxing. This accommodation was exactly what we were looking for. The secluded location easily makes you forget you're a 10 minute drive from a fishing port and all the amenities. That being said, you're 10 minutes away from whatever you need in Oban. Clan Cottages is located about a 2 hour drive from Glasgow Airport. Trust me, it's worth the drive. John and Mary, we can't thank you enough for a superb week, we're planning our return in 2024 already.

Loved our stay here! Perfect location - far enough away from the small but busy town of Oban so really quiet and peaceful, yet close enough for local amenities/restaurants, as well as short travel distance to the likes of Mull and Glen Coe. The owners live in a house nearby and were really lovely and helpful. Views from the window overlook the beautiful Loch Nell, which can be explored by rowing boat. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, absolutely fantastic.

We are just back from a fantastic week long break in cottage 1 which has three bedrooms 2 bathroom. This cottage has a front and back door with the most stunning views over looking beautiful countryside and Loch Nell. The cottage was immaculate with fantastic beds and really good quality bedding. The host Mary and John had thought of everything you could possibly need while staying there. They were so lovely and friendly and very attentive. They also leave wine , tea/coffee, biscuits, milk and so many other basic needs such as toilet paper black bags, salt n pepper and even fresh flowers. Home from home . We had sheep grazing in a field at the back if our garden and they would come to greet us in the morning and on our return in the afternoon. We had ducks and ducklings visit us too. The area is so quiet it can't help but make you feel so relaxed and you sleep like a baby. There is a boat by the Loch that John the owner said we could take out onto the Loch. We did and it was such fun . I even had a dip in the Loch which was amazing. There was only one negative and that was us having to leave it behind and go home.

We stayed in the MacDonald cottage and had our own private back entrance to the river. When we were travelling around the Inner Hebrides island hopping, we were rowing or floating on Loch Nell. Mary and John are exceptional hosts and their sons Martin and John took our son fishing. We enjoyed hiking Ben Nevis and exploring Glen Coe. Loved shopping and eating in Oban. Can highly recommend the Oyster Bar (about an hour’s drive), Ee-usk and Coast as places to eat. Best mussels are by the Ferry. The cottages were clean and comfortable with a nice touch of luxury. On a rainy day, we enjoyed the sound of Scottish CDs (Provides by Mary) and a trip to see Highland Cows and St. Conan’s Kirk. There is a very nice walk to a waterfall as well!

This is just such a wonderful business and one we were delighted to support and enjoy the benefits of when staying in Oban recently. The location is great - very close to Oban yet out in the middle of the Scottish countryside with beautiful landscapes in every direction. We had sheep grazing just outside our cottage which our toddler daughter absolutely loved. Being able to stroll down to the small loch next to the property was also great. Wonderful facilities - well appointed rooms, clean, warm and with dishwasher, washer-dryer, and all you need for self-catering, with added extra touches from the owners - wine, milk, coffee, tea and biscuits all provided on arrival. TV including freesat and Netflix was great too. Safe, clean, environmentally pro-active and friendly - and the owners couldn't be more delightful. Strongly recommended.

Clan Cottages is beautifully located on a loch with nice views and in a quiet location, yet only a few minutes from Oban. We were in a two-room cottage, Clan McDougall, which was spacious and at 995 pounds for a week we though was value for money for two bedrooms. But the price should make it clear that this is not 'luxury' accommodation as one or two reviewers have suggested (and is also claimed on the company's website). In truth we thought the facility both inside and out were a little tired and needed a bit of sprucing up. An example in our cottage was a poor selection of crockery and glassware. Relatively minor quibbles though. Clan Cottages is definitely worth considering if you're looking for somewhere rural, quiet and spacious.
