Very friendly staff, and extremely flexible with my very non Japanese diet. They went so far as to go to a grocery store and pick me up some frosted flakes for breakfest, along with making pancakes and French fries just for me. They have great personal and group baths open all day and night.

We stayed in a room with a private onsen overlooking Lake Kawaguchiko. The onsen was fantastic and so relaxing. The room was large and we slept on futon that was set up by the staff every night. Breakfast was served in the hall with other partons and was all set up nicely when we got there. Dinner was served in...

The location was very convenient, easy to reach by walk from the station. Hotel's shuttle bus to/from the station is also available. Welcome drink, friendly and helpful staff people. It's very calming and quiet inside the ryokan. Evening meal is served right at your room, breakfast is given at the dining hall with all the other guests. Breakfast is humble...

Hotel was conveniently located. Near to Kachi Kachi Ropeway and within walking distance to Lake Kawaguchiko and the surrounding attractions. Room was traditional and clean. Delicious Kaiseiki dinner was served in room, after which the staff will rearrange the room and set up the traditional beds for the night. Our room was overlooking Mount Fuji in close proximity and luckily...

We chose Kasuitei Oya as the first stop on our whistle-stop honeymoon tour of Japan. We were a little bit worried about getting to Kawaguchiko and when we finally found the Highway Bus station in Shinjuku (it is in a brand new terminal so ignore the guide books) we discovered that they were fully booked until 3pm that afternoon so...

Let me sum up the key things that made my trip really good there: 1. Location & logistics - you can actually arrange with the folks at the hotel for a pick-up and should they be unable to, no worries... you are likely gonna get the tourist bus ticket anyway and so just drop off at stop 10 which kind...

It's so enjoyable staying in this hotel. I took my husband there for a mini honeymoon. It was my 4th time there. But my first time stay in this hotel - is old style but clean enough. Hot spring public bath is on roof top. Food is great, my husband really enjoyed it. I was ok with it. It is...

Pros: Super friendly and helpful staff. Lovely spot on the lake with great views. Walking distance to the train/bus station. Clean facilities. Cons: Expensive!! Especially for such basic rooms. Slightly dated facilities. No options for western breakfast.

I find that this ryokan is my favourite for all the hotels during our 2 weeks trip. It is located at lake Kawaguchiko and in a walking distance from herb hall and gem museum (you can hop on red line bus there). There's a hotel shuttle van service to and from Kawaguchiko station. We booked standard double room which we...

Wow! What a relaxing stay we had here! We chose a traditional Japanese style room that had it's own onsen bath on the balcony overlooking the lake. Soaking in the hot bath taking in the views was just gorgeous. Sleeping on the futons was our first real Japanese experience! Dining in the room was fabulous, a genuinely interesting and delicious...
