The room was clean and spacious. The ryokan served us amazing breakfast and dinner. We were so full after each meal. We also enjoyed the onsen which has a view of Mt Fuji on a clear cloudless day! They also offer free pick up at the bus and train station at Kawaguchiko.

We stayed at Asafuji for one night. The hotel came to pick us up at the railway station right after we called them from a pay phone. The staff were very welcoming and helped us to understand what we would experience during our stay, as this was our first time to a Japanese guesthouse. The onsen (hot springs bath) was... More

We loved staying in this Japanese style hotel / room. The staff were so welcoming and cute. It was a perfect stay in Kawaguchiko. We could see Mount Fuji from our window and even from our bathtub! (Stayed on the 4th floor). The public baths are also on the 4th floor and are quite nice to relax in at the... More

The photos staff have uploaded do not do this place justice - it is more beautiful than it is in photos. I travelled alone. I had an excellent view of the river, and when craning my head I could see Mt Fuji. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and do their best to help you... More

Our stay at Asafuji Ryoukan in Kawaguchiko, Japan was awesome. The staff was exceptionally kind and the service was outstanding. My young daughter and I made the trip in order to see Mt. Fuji. The day we arrived, it was cloudy, but the next morning we had a beautiful view from our room of the enchanting mountain and prestige lake... More

When me and my boyfriend planed our trip we only had one night and one morning in Fuji before our next stop. We wanted to stay at a ryokan and we knew it was going to be expensive. But having that experience is worth every penny. We contact the hotel and they picked us and another family up from the... More

A lovely ryoken with friendly service, it was a bit cloudy so we did not get to see Mt Fuji. Substantial portion for set dinner and breakfast, only drawback the portion was too big for kids, and the whole family had to make the same choice with or without meal. Beware of on booking website that says quadrupole room, all... More

Comfortable, clean and spacious room! Felt so homely and welcome by the friendly staff. Food was great, really value for money. Will definitely recommend this boutique hotel to all. The only thing is that the onsen is small so not as enjoyable.

On the whole, a very pleasant stay in a great hotel with superb food. From start to finish the service was excellent, the room was comfortable and the stay was enjoyable. We were picked up right outside Kawaguchiko station by the Asafuji minibus, and the journey to the hotel was short - perhaps three minutes. We later walked back to... More

This cozy boutique hotel is a perfect choice for us, a group of 4 friends, who planned for a Mt Fuji hike in early Jul. Situated at the lakeside, with cozy tatami rooms and indoor onsen with good Mt Fuji view. Great for jogging and biking around the lake for sports lovers. Most importantly, a team of hospitable staff who... More

One of our top picks in Fujikawaguchiko. Boasting hot-spring baths with views of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, Asafuji provides air-conditioned Japanese-style rooms with a minibar and a green tea set. An in-room dinner can be ordered in advance, and on-site parking is free. The air-conditioned rooms at Asafuji Inn have Shoji paper screens and a low table with floor cushions. Each room includes a private toilet, and guests bathe at the hot-spring baths. Japanese-style futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor is provided. Massages are available, and the reception can store luggage. The public hot-spring baths are open from 06:00-09:30 and from 15:00-23:45 daily.
