After the harrowing drive up the mountain, the staff met us at the Palazzo to take us to Villa Colonnata. Let's be clear while, remote, the setting is drop dead gorgeous!! While a spacious and well laid out home, the floors were dusty and lots of dead bugs and moths were around the windows and doors. After expressing disappointment with...

attended a coworker's wedding at Terranova. It was EXTRAORDINARY with amazing views, tons of character, and great food. Two notes of caution: This is like a vacation rental and not a hotel. Meaning, you're basically on your own. We did not understand this in advance so it created some confusion with the staff. But the staff was awesome and tried...

This is a long overdue review. We had our wedding at Terranova in September 2010. It was an overseas wedding (we flew from London, and guests traveled from pretty much all over the world). When we first visited the place, my now husband said the dirt road up the hill was a no go, but as soon as we were...

The Palazzo Terranova is a beautiful villa with spectacular views of the Umbrian countryside. It is very secluded and the road up to the villa is a challenge.....rutted, dirt/gravel road. But it is worth it once you are there. The infinity pool is a welcome activity after a busy day of sightseeing. The food was wonderful with chef Alex, and...

A very unique property..Panaramic Umbrian views from everywhere you look. The staff was very helpful. The antique furnishings were simple and elegant. We had a very difficult time finding this house and the driveway is a 3 kilometer drive up. Be sure you have an SUV to climb the driveway. Also, make sure you eat somewhere else, as the food...

We were just 2 couples, and we stayed in the Bellini room => just amazing , the view, the room, the facilities, everything! The food is just delicious and we felt like super stars in the hotel! We celebrated our 1st anniversary and they...

Just returned from the Palazzo, where we spend three wonerful days. The beauty of the area and the palazzo are incredible and difficult to describe. The staff very attentive and the service impeccable. The only negative we found is that due to lack of rental cars in Perugia airport, the hotel send a taxi to pick us up. Cost was...

I am a travel writer, and I have stayed in many five-star properties in Italy. Based on my experience, Palazzo Terranova is a ten-star property. It is elegant, yet homey. Service is consistently unobtrusive, yet complete -- we never used the same towel twice. The rooms are huge, and the views are spectacular. The chef's secret ingredient is "freshness," making...

My husband and I stayed at Palazzo Terranova for three nights during our honeymoon, the accommodations and staff were impeccable. We loved the evenings there the most, with drinks on the back terrace served with delicious small bites before walking over to our table for dinner. Each night the meals were exquisite, from the fresh bread to the amazing desserts...

This was our second stay at the Palazzo, this time for only one night en route elsewhere. We remembered it being a stunning, special place; the structure still is, but it lacked the warmth of the previous owners, who were around during our last stay, & as a result felt much less special than before. We couldn't really recommend driving...
