Travellers' Choice 2019 Winner
Certificate of Excellence
The hotel is located at the north side on the island Šipan in the very South of Croatia, a district of Dubrovnik and is only 9 sea miles off the mainland. This charming 75 room hotel is situated on the waterfront in Sipanska Luka Bay typically known as a “Riva” providing guests with “picture postcard” views of the bay and the visiting luxury yachts that anchor in front of the hotel.. Known for its charm as a fishing village, the bay also provides one of the best sandy beach locations in the Elafiti Islands and with a west facing perspective provides dramatic sunsets over the Elafiti Islands.Šipan is an experience hard to find anywhere else in the Mediterranean, a place for true originality and romance, an experience of the real Croatia, unspoiled by mass-tourism and its consequences.

It was very hot! The hotel was nice. My son paid for a sea view not really worth the extra money. Location was quiet but the restaurants and bars nearby were excellent...bit more expensive than i thought they would be. Staff were ok not overly friendly. The walk to the 'beach'

Poor service and poorly described food. I had asked whether the tuna in the tuna salad was fresh and was told it was. In fact the tuna was from a tin in an area where wonderful fresh tuna is available.

Love this place, love the staff, love the surroundings, I can not find fault with any of it.... apart from it would be nice if the hotel provided some dairy-free alternatives in regard to yoghurt and milk at breakfast. As a tip to any ladies, you cannot buy Tampax in the

My husband and I have just returned from a week's holiday. The niggles are, the hotel is a little worn and tired. Our shower was the smallest I've seen with the curtain that sloshed in the tray which then wet the bathroom floor. We paid extra for the sea view which was in the

Hotel in lovely location, view out to sea at the front and village at the rear. Reception staff very helpful and friendly, always greeting visitors with a smile. We had a room on the top floor at the back of the hotel, it was quite small and the sloping ceiling at one side meant

If you are staying at the Hotel Sipan as we were I would get the 6.50 ferry from the harbour near the hotel. Yes, its early, but you will get to Dubrovnic by 7.40. If you are heading towards Old Dubrovnic you could catch a bus, or, like us, walk there. It only took 40 minutes. It may be an early start, but it means you will be there before the crowds arrive. If you are going to Old Dubrovnic, I would recommend checking how many cruise ships are due in, (there are a few web sites that will tell you), and go when the least number are due in port. Much quieter that way.

Hope I'm not too late giving you an answer. We needed printouts for some important details we had to use. The hotel was very obliging. Although I'm unable to say that they definitely will, by my experience I would say that I cannot see a problem

They provide room towels but you will need to take your own beach towels. There is a small beach aprox 10 mins casual walk from the hotel. They were building a hut type thing when we were there in May but I don't know what exactly it is for. I presume hiring out beach beds and possibly towels. If they sell drinks there that will be beneficial, because there was nowhere quite nearby to buy any. If they don't sell drinks then it is advisable to take your own
