Where do I start? This was intended as a memorable experience for my daughter and her son, my grandson, unfortunately the visit to the farmhouse will be remembered for all the wrong reasons. The welcome was to say the least lack lustre, on knocking on the door we weren't asked to step inside for at least 5 minutes, at one...

Stayed here on Saturday night. It's a rambling old farmhouse which does need some work. Bedroom was very basic as was the ensuite. Very 1970's and a bit like staying with Great Aunt Mable in her run down house in the country. Breakfast was ok. Location was perfect for us. Our biggest complaint was their rather aggressive dog. We were...

I can totally relate to all of the reviews below, apart from the good one's. Place was shabby, no shower, looked like the floor of the room may collapse at any moment, landlady was not very welcoming, landlord, referred to as old bloke in previous reviews, I was unsure as to whether or not he was the landlord or a...

I don't normally submit reviews but on reflecting about our recent stay and then looking on tripadvisor at other reviews I am so annoyed and feel swindled by owners who just do not care! I am horrified to note that so many issues first mentioned up to four years ago are still very evident. Smell, cleanliness, dogs and cat in...

I've selected 'very good' but mean 'good' which is not an option for some reason. We stayed here for 1 night and had a pleasant and comfortable stay. The farmhouse is lovely and peaceful and the room was spacious and comfortable. We didn't have an en suite bathroom but that is no problem for us and neither was the lack...

Booked a double room with ensuite. A week later get an email saying ensuite is no longer available and I replied that I would have liked the ensuite. Get no reply on the email or phone and when I phone they have now let my room to someone else. As a result bank holiday is completely cocked up. Having looked...

We needed somewhere to stay urgently rather than drive all the way home after a party and foolishly I did not check out Crockshard Farmhouse who confirmed that they had accommodation. First impressions were not good and having seen the room which was crowded with nick nacks and mismatched bedding, we were very apprehensive. There just seemed to be too...

Like previous reviews, alarm bells should have rang when we could get two rooms so easily in the Easter Holidays. Stupidly didn't check trip advisor either (can't think why not). Owner pleasant on the phone and advised to either pay by bank transfer or when we were there. Thank goodness I choose not to pay up front!! Owner showed us...

We stayed here in the summer of 2014, having booked at the last minute for a place to stay near to Dover so that we could have a full day at the castle. We are B&B 'veterans' and having stayed in quite a few since the 1990's, we really ought to know better when it comes to checking a place...

Some friends were getting married in nearby Wingham, and a few of us were caught out by the late finish, requiring rooms at short notice. A friend had a room booked here and called the hosts at after 10.30 pm to ask for another room. Our slumbering hostess was kind enough to take the booking on trust and agree to...

“We stayed in a great room decorated with collected travelling artefacts and ancient furniture. i liked it a lot. The room could sleep five with a double bed, 2 singles and a z-bed. Mine was very soft and comfortable. Shared bathroom but even that was quaint and interesting.”
  • A cosy bedroom with carved elephants on the ancient beams.
