Battling storm Babet to travel to the Dog was no fun but on arrival at The Dog, we knew the trip was worthwhile. Delicious food, impressive range of drinks, beautiful room and most importantly great, friendly service from Marc and the rest of the team. We felt like we had been given a big hug on arrival which lasted until we left the following morning. Thank you all for a memorable stay.

Anne and I went the 5 miles from our home in Sandwich to stay and dine at the Dog for a decade birthday. It was as ever fantastic. Superb food, great room, brilliant staff, good beer, great bar. It is a great place.

I very much like this pub. Food is normally very good but do not order the fish and chips. I don’t know whether the chef finds it demeaning to make this but both times I have had it I would have been better off at my local “chippy”.

Great welcome, lovely room, excellent food, helpful staff. WiFi was a bit iffy, but better than most. Dinner was really excellent and the service, whilst not up to French standards was 'good for the UK'. My only issue was an unannounced 'service charge' added to the bill. This is a despicable practice in which I always refuse to participate. If I want to leave a tip, I shall. I completly resent this gouging for extra revenue undertaken by unscrupulous management. It needs to stop.

What a find this charming restaurant-with-rooms is! A beautiful old building, stylishly decorated, quite excellent staff (a particular shout out for waitress Ellie who although only 18, was superb), a warm welcome, delicious food and a very comfortable bedroom. Marc the owner helpfully emailed over a marked up map of local walks the day before, and our request to bring forward our dinner booking was seamlessly arranged. We were in the family suite, Room 7, which was delightful - spacious, clean, cosy and with a dreamy bed. Pre-dinner drinks in the snug bar, followed by a delicious 3 course meal. Breakfast next morning was very tasty with excellent coffee. A fabulous stay - go now!

We love the Dog at Wingham, and go for Dinner. But as it was our wedding anniversary. We stayed for B&B as well. Fabulous menu choices. Lovely meal. Fantastic choice of wines and spirits. Cocktails etc. Staff friendly and attentive. Meal not rushed. Perfect evening. Comfortable large double bed. Good choice of breakfast. Would recommended. And you can bring your own dog😆

We very much enjoyed our four day stay at this delightful pub. Our bedroom was so attractively decorated, and the beds and pillows were lovely and comfortable. As well as enjoying delicious breakfasts, the poached eggs with smoked salmon are just amazing, we also had some excellent suppers in the dining room. All of the staff were very polite and friendly. The Dog is a great place to stay, and of course, they even gave a warm welcome to our little Yorkiepoo!

Excellent 2 night stay with friends using the Dinner, Bed & Breakfast package - good value for money. Rooms spacious and comfortable. The new Autumn dinner menu is very good as is the breakfast menu.
