We stayed for bed, breakfast and evening meal as part of January/February offer. We paid a little extra for the room we had, room 4, but it was well worth it, a lovely comfortable room which was beautifully decorated. We arrived late afternoon and were warmly welcomed and shown to our room by the Manager, Mark. Absolutely loved everything about...

We again had an excellent 3 Course lunch which was exceptional. The starter of Ham Hock, Roast Chicken with traditional veg, followed by sticky toffee pudding was all delicious. The food in my experience is top rate. Service is very good with enough attention to detail and the staff are well trained and presented.

We only had dinner this time as we'll be staying here in April for a golf competition and wanted to check it out in advance. Really great food, attractively decorated and very friendly and welcoming service. Looking forward to our next visit!

We stayed here as part of the Jan Feb deal. A room evening meal and breakfast. £110 for a " larger room " instead of £99. The room was fine but strangely on the small side in size. There is a good varied menu and the food was good. Very good service at the bar and also at the table....

Thanks for visiting The Dog and for taking the time to give us your feedback. Being a historic building our rooms do range from the bijoux room 5 to the vast room 4 with four poster bed. Room 7 has 2 bedrooms! I believe all of the rooms have been beautifully styled, they just differ in size, and we try...

We were really looking forward to a night away here, after reading the reviews. But we were rather disappointed overall. We arrived late afternoon and were shown up to Room 2 - don't take room 1 or 2 if you have any sort of mobility issues! The steepest, narrowest stairs you've ever seen. Very pleasant, if a little small room;...

Dear Guest, Thanks for taking the time to write a review and we appreciate your feedback. I am sorry that you had a mixed experience at The Dog and that we did not deliver to the standards we strive for. The steep staircase owes to age of the building, we are honoured to be the custodians of a historic building...

It was a surprise early Valentines for my girlfriend I booked a room to stay without her knowing so when we arrived and went through the front door we were extremely impressed with the interior design. There was an open fire in the restaurant area which was a blessing on the day we arrived with Sleet and snow falling. We were...

We stayed one night . We had a good meal with very pleasant service. The room was very comfortable with a good bed, which is normally the undoing for us . Good location in the village . To be recommended. Canterbury is in easy reach as is Herne Bay.
