We rarely go to a 2 star hotel but there are almost no Airbnb places in Jersey. When we first got there we were disappointed that there was no restaurant or bar but actually it turned out to be perfect! They have a dining room at the back with cutlery crockery and microwave so we called in at a little Morrisons 2 minutes away on the way home and bought a snack and wine! Much cheaper and easier than going out! Very friendly and a really good breakfast. No lift is the only reason I gave 3 stars as it's location is excellent - 5 minute amble to the bus stop!

Maison Gorey Hotel is a lovely hotel in the charming Grouville village, the location is perfect for exploring this beautiful side of the island. The staffs of the hotel are all extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast is cooked to your liking each morning. The room is spacious and is kept clean daily, only downside is the wifi didn'nt work very well in our room (probably because its upstairs and far from the reception). I will highly recommend this hotel !

Firstly, with regard to previous reviews and their observations: - the hotel was extremely clean and tidy - sticky carpets? Try the Cider Bar in Newton Abbot...And the staff are very helpful. - Nowhere on the hotel website (or partner websites such as booking.com) does it mention having a) a lift, b) a sea view but c) it does referene limited "first come, first served" parking and d) the closest bus top is not 10 minutes walk, but about three, or a 90 second dash. Do guests not do their homework before visiting? - The rooms DO get hot (accepting that 2022 has been very warm). - The buffet style breakfast is substantial but does not vary in any shape or form from day to day. That said, you can eat different elements (cold and hot) to vary it. One comment - the hot food from the heaters isn't actually very hot, but there is a microwave around the corner in the former dining room that I used to get it up to heat! - With the hotel no longer having a bar or dining (you can bring your own food in on a night to eat ad they provide a dining area with crockery etc) it does lack a !"social hub"hub and is somewhat soulless as a result; there was very little iinteraction between guests. I appreciate that the "cut down to B&B" model is probably the only way to make it profitable, however. not least as staff shortages are as severe on Jersey as anywhere else. I called the review "Almost The Last One Standing" because hotels in Jersey have been disappearing faster than some of the endangered species at Jersey Zoo. And still are. On my first visit to Gorey ('76) there were three substantial hotels (one of which I stayed in - the Kalamunda) directly in front of the Maison Gorey providing, I would guess, around 200 guest rooms between them. They are all long gone and replaced by housing and apartments (for the record, the others were the Trafalgar Bay and the Old Court House). And these aren't the only ones in Gorey that have disappeared - just the biggest. With more major hotels on Jersey set to close in the next 12 months, my advice is: is you like visiting Jersey, continue to support the hotels while they still exist! From a peak of around 30,000 hotel rooms, Jersey now has closer to 7,000. One final - and related - ponit of interest. When the original Bergerac TV series was filmed on the Island, it provided a substantial boost to tourist numbers for many years. Back then, Jersey had the hospitality infrastructure to cope with such a boost and benefit from it. There are advanced plans to reshoot a new series of Bergerac in the very near future. The question is: if this happens and the "reboot" results once more in a wave of new tourists visiting the island, where are they all going to stay?…

This hotel is in a little village just a stones throw from the beach. It has friendly welcoming staff and large clean rooms. Bathroom was spotless and roomy. Our only gripe was as its an older building there's no aircon and although they provide a fan the room still gets quite warm. We did have high temps though during our week. Breakfast was good with a good assortment and was self service. Would highly recommend.

Our first visit to Jersey and we chose the Maison Gorey Hotel in Gorey village as our base. The hotel has been recently updated and decorated and our room(no.14) was a nicely presented double with a large comfortable and modern en suite. The hotel doesn't have a lift,so anyone with limited mobility would have a problem here.Ive had a hip replacement and got two dodgy knees but managed the shallow rise stairs without too much trouble. The hotel kitchen doesn't do evening/afternoon meals but the breakfast selection is pretty good for anyone staying on a B and B basis. We had our evening meal at a different restaurant every day,for a small village Gorey has a really good choice of eateries and all within walking distance of the hotel,so no problem there.Theres a bus stop 10 minutes walk away and the Liberty Bus Service is first class.Youll never wait more than 20 minutes for a bus and you can reach most parts of the island with no more than one change. We'd have no problem recommending the Maison Gorey Hotel to anyone visiting the area,we loved our visit and wouldn't hesitate to return.…

Stayed in this hotel for a long weekend for a friends birthday. Very good location, close to the bus stops into St Heilier, which was a half hour bus trip to Gourville. Hotel room was clean, comfortable but very warm. Our shower was handheld too but friends had a proper shower. Brrakfast was lovely, buffet style cooked breakfast and selections of cereals etc. Staff were friendly. I had booked through booking.com and had requested by two double rooms, was given a twin. I also booked a party of 4 but we were given two rooms not beside each other, but oppositr sides of the hotel. Overall though, it was a lovely stay and i would go back ....

What a wonderful little hotel, superb quality rooms and bathrooms and very friendly staff. the breakfast was particularly good, lots of choice and selection of lots of different foods. The waitress and staff were great and so friendly. The hotel is close to the beach, and a walk to the Seascale Restaurant of the night time was perfect. I will definitely return to the hotel, and stay there next time. Perfect
