This is a very good hotel placed close to Stone Town. You can take the local bus (but you will need to walk a good distance). All in all conference facilities are very good. Excellent breakfast and dinner and lovely views. Staff is SUPER kind and willing to help. The level of service is not as professional as in other places, but the way they work compensates this. Transport to town is negotiable if you do it through the hotel (taxis are a bit expensive), just try to get a decent rate. Get a view to the ocean and enjoy

While most of the good resorts are at least at 1h from stone town the Z ocean is close by the city.

The facilities are good, nicely arranged with a pool to enjoy during the low tide.
However, the isolation of the place have a drawback, it is very difficult to get access to the road to find a taxi.

The food during my stay was mediocre for the price. The value for the meal compared to stone town was three time higher. So I did some trip in the city center to enjoy at better cost the Zanzibar delicacies and gastronomy.

The ocean is always good for the eyes and refreshing. Clean and spacious, the room are quite pricey but I enjoyed the quality of the the place.

This hotel is definitely off the beaten path. Literally. But it really is peaceful and quaint. I've only been here a day so far (today started my second day) my trip is for 3 days. It's only me and one other person here in the entire hotel (minus the staff). Regardless of that, the staff really tries hard to make my stay pleasant. The breakfast is abundant. This morning, they had cereals and tea and instant coffee but then surprised me with a plate of fresh fruits, orange, watermelon, and mango, and then even brought out a hot breakfast. I had fried eggs with beans and sausage and toast. I wasn't expecting so much! And for just me and the other person at the hotel. They are very sweet here and hard workers. The only complaint I would have is where the AC is located in the room.... I wish it could point more directly towards the bed, but other than that, it's really very pretty here. I'm going to go on an excursion tomorrow called, Safari Blue. Out on a boat and snorkeling. If you are looking for peacefulness and tranquility, this hotel is for you. If you are looking for major parties or nightlife, perhaps this hotel is not your choice.
Yes, there is wifi. Even out at the pool!

The hotel is soundly built with good furniture in the rooms and a staff that is friendly and wants to please. In the rooms there was no tea or coffee making facilities and no toiletries other than soap is provided. .

Food was tasty but limited. After complaints (since we were here a week), this improved, as it was surfer boy style and monotonous at best. Coffee was the instant kind( ricoffy type for South Africans). The hardest thing for me was having to wait until 7.30 am for a cup of coffee, when like most business people I start work at 5 am. Despite complaints, this was not addressed. Fruit is available at each meal. Rice was offered with each meal and one to two veg dishes with fish or chicken. Breakfast consisted of vienas, egg, potatoes and a slighlty stale pastry with a bread. No cereals or porridge are given. Hot processed milk and water is served in flasks, I could not get cold milk for tea. The restaurant is open air and flies are a real problem. At night being bitten was an issue by the local bugs. Wind can make eating most unpleasant. Getting to the restaurant is a challenge as the water running down after the rains means you will get wet feet.
Conference room was large, Coffee and tea ( sometimes cocoa) is provided with hotwater and hot milk in flasks . The eats( three choices) were not always marked as vegetarian or meat.

Leisure: The beach is uninspiring, with plastic and old clothes on it. No complimentary shuttle to the airport

Stayed at the annex next door, but did venture to the main hotel side for meals. Overall, its a basic hotel, beach is nice, generally clean.

There are other hotels very close to this, so if price is an issue, then i would say this should be the lowest of all.

Foods ok, not great, so if all you want is a place to lay your head, enjoy some beach life and are planning to go out to eat, then this is ideal.

Was an adventure when the Bus left the tarmac (main road)... and turned into the mud road... and drove through the little village... before reaching the small but interesting hotel... situated on the beach...

Was fairly comfortable and enjoyable as the group went about its routine of conferencing... entertainment.. team building activities... and...oooohhh the Spicy Club next door with lovely Taarab music.. the speciality of the coast... and then .. the mix of Hip Hope... Bongo Flava.... Reggae..etc... to finish off at night...

Not too far from town... yet.. gives you the flavour of being on the island... with a couple of tours to exciting spots to top it all.

Do your guests have access to the beach?
Answer from Anissa Z
Tegucigalpa, Honduras270 contributions38 helpful votes
Yes, but when high tide comes in, there is no place for you to relax on the beach. You can walk a little bit to the left of the beach of the hotel and I saw locals playing, swimming, body boarding, etc around 4pm. The pool is a better bet. But yes, there is complete access to the beach.
