Stayed here 4 nights to do ancestry work nearby. Our room was spacious, quiet and clean. Janet, the manager, was welcoming and efficient. A parking garage behind the hotel was €10/day. Street parking was free from 7 pm - 9 am. Breakfast was delicious with lovely breads, meats, cheeses, eggs for boiling, juice and coffee served by a friendly lady. We had two dinners at the hotel next door, and two dinners around the corner, although there were any restaurants a short stroll away. Our room was on the 2nd floor but the elevator only went to the 3rd floor, necessitating our going up and down the stairs multiple times. Had we known, we would have taken a room on the 3rd floor. There was also a very charming two room old cottage available behind the hotel, which we were offered. A Thursday morning street market was fun to visit, and there is a monthly brocante (flea market) nearby. A good central location for Bas-Rhin.

We used this Hotel as a stopover en route to the UK. Centrally located with easy street parking it suited our needs. Large clean and tidy room, mini bar and tea/coffee facilities. Comfy bed, although bedspread was in need of a clean as stained and should have been picked up by housekeeping. TV in room, no English speaking channels. Pleasant buffet breakfast with good selection of bread, croissants, cereal etc. Tea and coffee is brought to your table and refilled as requested. Small well stocked bar area by reception. Friendly and helpful staff, we would happily use again if in the area.

We have been staying at this lovely hotel four times each year for the past 11 years and have always been very happy with the experience and the high standards of service provided by Kareem and Peter. On this visit we were disappointed that the WiFi service was not operating and that some recent new management changes had downgraded the breakfast experience in our opinion (always a highlight at the Hotel Europe!) to a buffet self service rather than the previous waiter service. Tea and coffee are no longer provided in proper tea and coffee pots, just a cup or mug is provided, which we feel will not encourage guests to stay in the hotel for breakfast. We do hope the new management will review our constructive comments and return the breakfast experience to the high standard it has always been in the past at the Hotel Europe.

This is a nice, central, value for money hotel. The rooms are a good size and comfortable. Breakfast is generous with a good selection. Be aware, the railway is nearby, and light sleepers may be disturbed by the overnight freight trains.

Before my visit to Saverne I'd asked my friends who live locally to suggest some hotels and all of them suggested Hotel Europe which proved to be a good recommendation. The hotel is just a stone's throw from Saverne railway station and just a few minutes walk from the town centre meaning it's in a perfect location. The hotel itself is a good balance between being modern yet charming and my room was of a good size with a nice bathroom, a television, a sofa with small coffee table. Fast Wi-Fi is also available and free. The breakfast buffet was small but had plenty of options and most importantly to me, very good croissants and coffee! My only small criticism is that checkout is at 11 am rather than 12 noon like most other hotels I stay at but apart from that I would definitely recommend Hotel Europe and will be happy to stay here again for future visits to Saverne.

4 couples meeting in Saverne prior to canal trip. Booked a mix of rooms here from standard to deluxe. Excellent location a short walk from our arrival at the train station. Deluxe room was at the front with a balcony overlooking the narrow street. Comfortable bed, good size room, clean.Good shower in a tub so bath is available for those who really want one. Very helpful staff. Good wifi. Opted to eat breakfast at the hotel and it was fine. Standard, bread, croissants, cold meats, cheeses, self cook boiled eggs, coffee, fruit and juice. What made this hotel stand out was the staff. On our return to Saverne 10 days later I needed wifi. Stopped into the hotel and asked about possibility of using it for a small fee. I was offered the use of the wifi, no charge, in the small comfortable bar area. Ended up buying a glass of wine and enjoying some nuts while catching up on some urgent business. I really appreciated the thoughtfulness of the manager in letting me use the wifi. It's this sort of service in a smaller hotel that makes all the difference. The hotel itself is probably a 3 star in terms of fittings and finishes but the service make it 4 star. We interacted with 3 different desk staff and all were pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay here if we returned to Saverne.

We spent a night here on a stopover. Saverne is a lovely town for wandering around - there's a marina, nice shopping streets, and gardens. The hotel is very central, but in a quiet location. We had no trouble from noise either from within or outside the hotel. The furniture, fittings, décor of our - quite big - room were all of very high quality. We had a sofa, desk and very comfortable bed. The shower is good, though the bathroom is quite tiny. We were a little bit disappointed with the choice of food at breakfast, but what there was was of good quality: delicious croissants and bread, good coffee ... Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We would go back again.

We have been staying at Hotel Europe since 2002 and make sure that we book every year, when we drive from the UK to Austria, well in advance to get a room in this hotel. They are so very friendly, welcoming and hospitable. Nothing is too much. The rooms have been beautifully refurbish since we first stayed there and we always look forward to the lovely breakfast. Next time we will stay for a little longer to enjoy Saverne and the beautiful surroundings. Many, many thanks again and see you maybe even later this year....but for sure next summer. Best wishes Anita and Nick Love, Somerset UK

Hotel centrally located, but in a one way street. Very good service at the reception and the rooms are quite large and well furnished. You can park overnight at a nearby public car park or, for a small charge, you will get a private locked garage. Excellent breakfast with excellent service. All in all a very good place to stop overnight or for a short break to explore the surrounding countryside.
