Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic RV site, this was about the cleanest and most thought out RV site we have ever visited, with a superb wifi connection also which is great as cell phones are not in this area. Great pub and meals within shirt walking distance and a well laid out peaceful RV camp

We stayed at this lovely place .. they have lodgings as well as RV park, and each site is very spacious 👍❤️ Besides, they also have a store … we were in awe, seeing how busy this place is 👍👍❤️❤️ You name it, they have it .. try them .. lol … amazing 👍👍❤️❤️ It’s Sayward’s grocery / store .. I saw some “cute stuffs” ..i bought the Chocolate & Peanut brittle .. hey it’s pretty good ( Pretty & Good 👍👍 ) We got a chance to stay both at the room ( VERY clean ) as well as the RV Park And probably for 5 days stay, been visiting their store for more than 20x … what a pleasant atmosphere ( which i didnt feel it when i was in the other Grocery store next door !! ) Faith & Frank Morgan are the Owners of this lovely place !! Faith runs the Lodging, the RV Park ANDDD the Store ( she’s an Energizer bunny 😉😁😍🥰👍 !! ) And Frank, he’s the Chief of Sayward Fire & Rescue Department 👨🏻‍🚒🚒👍👍🙏🙏 They are Angels to their Community … and to us too !! Frank & Faye are just the kindest hosts! Rooms very clean and have everything you need. They accommodated our two dogs as well. They helped us with the dogs when I had an emergency appendectomy and assisted us when we had to stay longer than we planned. Great place to camp or stay in one of the cottage rooms.

This facility is such a pleasant surprise! It is clean and conveniently located right off of the highway. The store has everything you need plus some surprising additions and home made items. The room was very clean and so spacious. The beds were very comfortable. Several interesting carvings were placed here and there around the property and made the morning walk last a little longer!

We booked to stay in a cabin at the resort prior to our kayaking trip through the Discovery Islands. We had no expectations other than the location worked well for us. When we arrived, we could hardly believe the great little cabin with the full sized refrigerator that could hold all our food for our trip. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. Perfect for us. The nearby pub was only open one evening when we were there but that was OK since we had lots of food and could look after ourselves. Although the cabin and the grounds are great, our lasting memory will always be of the kindness of Frank and Faye. We had to drop our kayak off one place and car the other (we were doing a one way kayak trip) and I am not sure how we would have managed without Faye and Frank. They contacted the Sayward community for us to help get us rides and Frank even drove us to our boat launch early one morning. Frank said that he likes to treat people the way he would like to be treated. So amazing. We are now determined to pay that forward whenever we can. That plus tell everyone what a very special place the Sayward Valley Resort is.

Frank & Faye continue to make great improvements to their accommodations located in this park like setting. Whether it’s the well supplied cabins , always clean and inviting to the spacious RV or tenting amongst the tree lined park you’ll never be disappointed. If you forget anything there a fully stocked grocery store that also has all types of liquor to meet your needs. Combine all this with just plainly great folks all ways ready to help you plan a holiday in the area. Oh Ya, there’s great fishing close by! John Nanaimo

I love staying at the Sayward Valley Resort and my family tries to make it an annual trip. We find the property is beautiful and well maintained and they sell everything we need at their onsite store. We always have a great time and enjoy the amenities while bring surrounded by nature. Staff are friendly and the owners are awesome, super welcoming and involved. I highly recommend this resort to people of all ages.

Our two family group rented side by side cabins, each with a well stocked kitchenette with two burner stovetop, microwave, and small fridge. Ours had two double beds and our son’s place had one, but both cabins had comfy love seats to watch the large TV with its basic cable, and a DVD player. Outside was a large park- like space with a grassed playground oriented to pre schoolers. For older kids there was a good basketball net that could easily be lowered to kid height. We made good use of the well stocked convenience store, but did not need the coin op laundry. Everything inside and out was spotless and perfectly maintained. The owners were helpful and friendly. Very near by there is another convenience store with basic groceries, and a liquor store specializing in B.C. wines and craft beer from Vancouver Island. Sayward village, ten miles down the road where it ends at Kelsey Bay, has the laid back vibe of Vancouver Island 40 years ago. The government wharf is well set up for fishing off the side. Both days we saw whales at close range, making their way down Johnson Straight. Would we return? In a flash! It is the perfect quiet getaway an hour north of Campbell River on a good road.

Stayed here because the highway to Port Hardy was closed due to an emergency. We had a great cottage with all the amenities and was super comfortable. The staff were super friendly and the general store was stocked with all kinds of great stuff.
