Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When staying in the Solihull area, I would recommend the Travelodge at Sheldon. Staff make you feel at home and go above and beyond to assist with any problems you may have. Even small things like extra pillows, we thank you. :)

It was awful staying here, the walls were so thin and you can hear everything! No sleep had at all, we had to leave the hotel at 6:30 to drive and hour and a half home to just get some sleep. Will definitely not be returning!

Stay was faultless, clean room comfortable bed. Accommodating staff. Can't find 200 characters say. Carvery food was nice, pub was good. Shops just outside, bus routes to city centre and airport. Don't know what else to say but it was good and will come back.

The room smelled of tobacco and was not very clean. Had to leave windows open due to the smell and it is on a very noisy road. The tv didn't work properly. The toilet pan had a big crack in it. Horrible. Room 222

Back for our yearly visit for Crufts at the National exhibition centre. The hotel is starting to look very old and tired now, so hopefully Travelodge will update this site soon. The rooms are clean and comfortable tho and the staff are all amazing and lovely to see lots of the same faces again.

Hard to find entrence, hard access to room due to many doors. Beds were stone hard, broken light in room. Staff was lovely though. Very helpful. Room and hotel felt very used and old. Public areas were not very clean. Free WiFi for 30 minutes, that is not free WiFi to me.

I really enjoy staying at this hotel, me and my partner visit regularly and always get a warm welcome. The staff always give me the room we request and it is always very clean and warm. Can be a bit noisy here with the main road but rooms facing the corridor are a lot quieter. The pub attached is friendly and carvery very good

My wife and I recently stayed at the Birmingham Sheldon Travelodge while visiting a sick relative, which was a trying time. We mainly had poor service at this venue until the intervention of Beth on reception, who I think is a great asset to the organisation. Although I filled in the survey when I returned home, I believe this disappears into the ether, as it states that no feedback will be given. The housekeeping was less than adequate:- Unchanged towels - vacuuming was non existent during the whole six night stay stay - unmade bed - refreshment station not replenished - shower room floor unmopped (looked like urine stains picked up on feet) All this after putting the appropriate tag on the door, which was obviously ignored. The noise levels outside and inside the hotel until well into the small hours did not encourage a restful nights sleep. I believe good reports left on TripAdviser are deceptive as this hotel appears to be mainly used by contractors who generally put up with anything. I was asked, on checkout, how was the stay by Mitz and Mags. After outlining the above, Mags was most apologetic and promised to credit an e-voucher to my account - another thing that didn't happen. The wi-fi service at Travelodge is a joke. I am aware that it is provided by Virgin, but to have 30 minutes every 24 hours, that has to be used when you first log on, or you lose it, is poor service. We have not stayed anywhere else where the internet is chargeable. Non of this is explained by Travelodge. It is not a good sign when you turn up at this hotel, after reading good reports, to be confronted by many 'white vans' in the carpark. This is essentially a contractors hotel, and this aspect should be made clear on the website.
