This is our second visit and it was every bit as special as our first. Miguel has a fantastic memory and even remembered when we had visited. The hosting is absolutely wonderful, from the large glass of wine on arrival right through to the fabulous breakfast the next morning. He arranged a taxi for us to visit a local restaurant....

We had an incredible stay here with friends and loved everything. Our room was fantastic and the bathroom was incredible. Ian & Miguel were charming and couldn't have been kinder. We loved their dogs, Razz and Drambuie. Our Sunday dinner was such fun and Miguel's cooking first class especially the pecan pie.

Given that previous visitors report so favourably, it's difficult not to have high expectations of Le Macassar. If you go, prepare to have them exceeded. Ian and Miguel are very generous hosts and they really make you feel like visiting friends. Great location and as others have raved about the house, I feel no need to repeat all that...but it's...

Le Macassar is a feast for the eyes. A beautiful former home beautifully decorated with exquisite taste and attention to detail. Ian and Miguel are exceptional hosts who welcomed us warmly and took great care to ensure our comfort. Thoroughly recommended.

We have stayed many times with Ian and Miguel in their beautiful home. Whenever we go to or through France we make a point of ensuring our route goes via Corbie. Ian and Miguel always make us feel most welcome from the moment we arrive and they open a bottle of fine wine. The house is absolutely beautiful and gives...

Staying at Le Macassar is like staying in a friend's sumptuous house. Nothing was too much trouble from the welcoming glass of wine to a wonderful breakfast and lots of tips about where to visit during our WW1 memorial site tour. We stayed in the Art Deco suite at the front of the house and were not disturbed at all,...

A belated review but a sincere one for a wonderful stay we had at Le Macassar in April. On arrival, behind wooden gates a warm welcome awaited us from Ian and Miguel - the perfect hosts. It was like staying in their home as friends and they did everything they could to ensure our stay was an enjoyable one, even...

Last week a friend and I did a whirlwind tour of Northern France ending with a visit to The Somme and a commemoration service at Thiepval. We slept in 6 beds over 8 nights and Le Macassar was by far the most memorable accommodation. Ian and Miguel are the most accommodating of hosts; Ian is the night owl and will...

My wife and I recently spent three nights in Le Macassar whilst we explored various WWI sites in the area. Behind an unassuming front door lies an oasis of peace, hospitality and excellence. The hotel is a real thing of beauty, reflecting the hosts' passion for Art Deco and every corner of it is both fascinating and stunning. My only...

From the town square this hotel has an unprepossessing appearance. However, once inside the large wooden doors and into the courtyard it is a very different environment. Balconies overlook a small lawn and garden with a waterfall and shrubs, very peaceful and relaxing. The hosts are charming and after the initial welcome, sat with us sipping cocktails, informing us of...

It's always a pleasure for us when guests take the time to write a review (so thank you) - rightly or wrongly we would prefer not to solicit them and we take on board each and every one of them where there are legitimately identified opportunities to improve what we do. We are sorry to hear that these guests found...
