Spent 11 nights in this lovely complex during these strange times we are experiencing worldwide due to the Covid 19 pandemic and it was so worth it as we had a totally enjoyable safe stay. Due to virus this property is taking steps to help protect the safety of their guests and certain services and amenities were reduced or unavailable as a result. From the moment we contacted Diana we received a friendly and efficient service and she arranged our airport return transfer.
The apartments are ideally located to the beautiful Moraitika beach and the main road where the shops and tavernas are located, all within walking distance. It is in a very tranquil location surrounded by locals and you hear the rooster and the hens early in the morning and the cats to keep you company. The gardens and pool around the apartment block are beautifully kept by Spiros cleaning and maintaining the area early every morning, a very quiet and reserved man and there if you need any assistance along with Diana later in the morning and she is most helpful.
The welcome envelope left in the apartment was ideal as it contained all the information about the area with great tips and there was sanitizer and surface cleaner left as the housekeeping ladies were not allowed into the apartments because of Covid. These lovely ladies were always around the complex if you needed any fresh towels or change of bed linen and they were so friendly and accommodating. There was water left in the fridge on our arrival a great thought as it was definitely needed in the heat. Apartment was fully equipped and the shower was the best we have ever experienced with plenty of hot water and great pressure. For us it was the ideal time to visit this island as it was our first time but not our last and we got a great feel for the area due to the restrictions and less tourists than normal. It has been a challenging season for Diana and Spiros but it was great that they were able to open this lovely complex and we look forward to a return visit in 2 years’ time as we have commitments for next years holidays due to a few deferred holiday this season.

Lovely place to stay, quiet but a three minute walk to the main road and all the bars and restaurants. a five min walk to the beach. Beds comfy and clean, our bathroom small but clean and had all we needed. Kitchen the same. Pool well looked after by the owner, spotless. PLF forms printed out by the owner and put under our door within a couple of hours of sending them to her by email. Now that is service. I had booked a cheap holiday with Teletext and the accommodation would have been a studio. As we like a bit more space I contacted Diana and arranged to upgrade to a two-bedroomed apartment. This was all ready and waiting for us when we arrived. AC in the apartment - at extra cost of course - but didn't find it necessary as overhead fans in bedrooms were adequate. All in all a great little place and would advise it to anyone. Thank you Diana and husband. From Maggie and David apartment 20

Lovely apartment in a great location. Spotlessly clean. Nicely located between the beach and the Main Street.
Not huge but by far one of the best equipped we have stayed in Corfu. Really nice pool which was never busy, reception area good with lots of things for guests to use.
Diana was full of knowledge and told us of some great places to visit, She was about if you needed her and always happy to help but equally you could just come and go as you pleased and not be bothered by anyone.
We had a great stay and if in the area again would definitely choose to stay here.

My partner and I stayed here for a week recently and had a great stay in Corfu!!

The apartment- We had a studio apartment with a balcony and it had everything we needed for a self-catering stay including kitchenette equipped with utensils and crockery. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the mornings and evenings.

The grounds - very well maintained-lovely flowers blooming and the pool is cleaned regularly. Also very nice reception area with free wi-fi ,security boxes and information about the local area.

The owners- As stated the owners are not at the apartments on a regular basis although they do come in the morning and evenings to maintain the place. I could see this might be a problem for people who like to have the owners there all the time to speak to but we didn't mind this at all as we are usually quite self sufficient on holiday. There is a request book that you can use to inform them of any issues that you have with your apartment. We used this once to ask for more towels and pillows and our request was met within hours. We arrived during the day to the apartments so the owner was able to show us to our room but if you arrive at night it is possible that there will be no-one there to greet you in which case there is a notice board up front which should have your name and room number (not sure what they do about keys).

The location- fantastic! short walk up the drive from the apartments and you are on the main street which runs through the lovely village of Moraitika and straight through to the neighboring vilage of Messonghi. Lots of wee supermarkets, shops, tavernas, bars and bus stops. Short walk to the beach, about 5 minutes. Lovely place, lots of flowers blooming and great wee shops and tavernas to explore.

Our recommendations- If you want a quieter spot on the beach, walk straight along to the end near the river. More sun loungers available, less noise.

Take a boat trip to the Blue Lagoon caves and mainland Greece. If you go to the Messonghi travel centre then you can try and negotiate prices with them, we got a good discount.

Take the bus from Moraitika to Corfu Town. Lots of lovely wee shops, bars. We went up one of the fortresses, well worth it for the stunning views. Bus costs 2.20 (euros) each way and takes you right to centre and back.

Take a walk up to old Moraitika village. It's so quaint and there are lovely wee tavernas up there.

And for bars- Time Out, Planet Bar and Cafe (they did a great Latin night on Thursdays when we went) and La Nuit...something. All on the main road at Moraitika.

And please go to Bella Vista taverna! If you come out of Mayflower drive, turn right. Cross the road and walk along past the wee shops...keep checking down to your left and you will see a wee sign down an alley for it. It is a bit of a walk up the hill but it is soo worth it. Delicious Greek food and stunning panoramic views!!!!

Hope this is helpful!

Thanks so much for the nice review - and also for the recommendations - we always leave information in Reception but we don't always see people to answer questions, so the more info that is collected on TA for people to see (the boat trip hasn't had a mention before I don't think) then it helps a lot. Thanks again.

Unfortunately my experience of the Mayflower apartments were far from good in fact it was terrible. Animal lovers beware the owners husband is extremely cruel, we stayed for a fortnight in the apartments, nothing wrong with them in fact they are beautiful and it was our second visit. We witnessed Diana's husband taking a running kick at a little dog that had been hanging round the apartments, admittedly they had been pestering the residents but this action was awful, the dog screamed all the way down the road ( we thought he had killed it) we reported it to the owner who we thought dealt with it adequately, she said she would talk to her husband and nothing like this would happen again. The husband every time he saw us glowered at us and made us feel uncomfortable to such an extent we didn't come down to the pool area for several days and then unfortunately one night we were sitting on the balcony in the dark watching a storm and he kicked the dog again, (he had no idea we were there), this time we remonstrated with him but to our utter amazement he came running up the stairs screaming and swearing at us and threatening us, I really thought he would hit me, we are 2 middle aged women on our own and we were terrified, I locked our door and rang Diana immediately but unfortunately she didn't answer her phone and then it was engaged, by the time we got through we could hear her husband shouting in the background and we were ordered out of the apartment and given till the morning to pack our bags and get out, we were so shocked we couldn't believe it. We moved into a hotel for the rest of our stay. I e-mailed her on our return home to express our concerns, her response was that we were silly women. This experience has made me very wary about going abroad in the future as I felt unsafe and we had nobody to turn to. Diana offered us 56 euros in compensation and by doing so admitted her and husbands guilt but as it cost us 300 euros to stay elsewhere, we refused, we are now taking them to a small claims court to try and get this amount back. So beware if you love or even like animals do not go here or you may witness something so awful it ruins your holiday.

Wow, what can I say, did they mention the words 'silly women' somewhere in the text. As people who have always had dogs and cats, and adored them, and who currently feed numerous strays in several locations, I almost find it funny. If it wasn't business I probably would not bother to respond. However it is business. Dogs in question were (and still are, we have not killed them and my husband has not killed me!) belong to young neighbour who lets them escape from his garden all the time. Naturally they homed in on our clients, some whom loved them, and others who did not - in fact my ONLY other complaint last summer was from 2 guests who complained that we did not get rid of the two little dogs as they stole their lilos and shoes! Yes we shooed them away, back to their own garden and yes they scream (chihauha type breed, loud, shrill voices) but they are still in a perfect state of health, they are actually quite sweet I just don't think they belong on sunbeds around our pool. Yes Spiros did shout at them, after they shouted hysterically down to him. I don't think that counts as 'customer is always right' behaviour. I went to see them early the next day, but they had already left. The whole thing is basically bizarre, and completely outside my experience of over 30 years in business with the Mayflower and our other rental villas. I think the other reviews outweigh the ladies comments, I don't propose to comment on them again, and people considering staying with us can make up their own minds.

We are a young couple we booked through Teletext for a cheap holiday and this was absolutely perfect. Lovely place to stay. Rooms are basic but have everything you need. Yes there isnt always somebody at reception but they are always available when you need them. There is no restaurant or bar on site but it is a two minute walk to the next hotel and to the shops.
I loved the fact you were left to do whatever you want and weren't hassled by staff it was extremely refreshing.
As far as Moratika itself its a fab place - great cocktail bars and lovely restaurants. Try Islands, Bella Vista, 75 steps, all amazing (last two with beautiful views!) And of course Golden Beach restaurant for some greek dancing! Hotel is a short walk from beach just perfect, couldn't reccomend it enough!

Thank you so much for that, and I am so glad that you understand the way we work, and that for you it worked well, whereas obviously it doesn't for everyone. I suppose we hope that our guests are looking for what we look for ourselves on holiday, clean accommodation, amenities close by and assistance available if we need it, or have questions. Most people fortunately seem to have similar requirements. but it seems we really disappoint those who have different expectations. Anyway, thanks again, and I hope you have an excellent 2014 holiday wherever you go.

After a disappointing holiday in Moraitika last year, we dicided to go back, as we liked the resort.
The Mayflower offers excellent accomodation. The furnishings are basic but adequate, with comfortable beds. Apartments and studios are equipped to a level far above basic, with microwaves incorporating a grill, satellite TV with DVD player, a kettle, electric rings, a toaster and coffee maker.
The whole premises are kept spotlessly clean, and the bathroom, although small is modern, and well equipped with a proper shower which, unusually for Greece, does not flood the floor when used.
Diana and Spiros, the owners, and Olga, made our stay very pleasant, and clear deserve all the good write ups they receive. If, as Diana insists, she considers the ccomodation to be basic, she should try some of the self catering accomodation I have stayed in, at much higher prices than these.
We enjoyed it so much, we have re-booked for September.

We (myself, husband and 9 year old daugter) spent our second summer holiday at the Mayflower. The hotel is very well located (5-10 minute stroll from the beach, 3 minute walk to the laid back resort) with a lovely swimming pool and ivy covered balconies which makes the hotel feel intimate and attractive.
Diana and Spiros are excellent hosts - Diana is a mine of information as she has lived in Greece for years and seems to know every inch of the island. She is able to recommend things for every type of holiday you might want - best beaches, nightlife, car hire, airport transfers etc.
The apartments are well equipped and vary in size depending on how many of you are staying. They are cleaned regularly by a really lovely lady who doesn't speak English but seems to know what needs doing!
Spiros works exceptionally hard - he can always be found poolside or round and about - any issues are dealt with quickly and resolved without any fuss.
Looking forward to going back in the summer - but clearly the hotel is making a name for itself as availability is already disappearing fast!

We are just back from a wonderful 10 day stay at Mayflower Apartments.
Situated in Moraitika, between the beach and 'main road' the Mayflower Apartments had all we needed for a well earned break. The apartments them selves are clean, well equipt with lovely views either over the meticulously maintained swimming pool or the olive groves to the sides and back (we had a nightly show from the fireflies).
The Apartments are self catering and the owners provide assistance through direct communication when they are there or through the pink book- this system worked well for us.
It really is a place to relax and you could go for days keeping yourself to yourself- or joining in poolside chat and making acquaintance- but be reassured that Diana and Spiros the owners are around if assistance is needed.
Everyone I spoke to had been before or would recommend to a friend to stay at one of their (Diane and Spiros) places. We will be back...
