Booked the Moulin des Templiers for an all too brief stop over on the way back to Dieppe. Was delighted to find this small cosy little hotel set in the most beautiful setting just a short drive from the A6 close to Avallon Arrived on a quite Sunday evening and were warmly received and shown to our small but very...

A lovely rural, quiet, beautiful setting for a wonderful charming little hotel. The rooms are modem, clean and very comfortable with large windows to be able to breath in the fresh air. The staff are so friendly and can't do enough for you. The meals (choice of land or river) in the evening are rustic regional fair - served on...

A moulin by the banks of the Cousin river its rooms are newly decorated though rather small and bathrooms very attractive. The staff are very friendly and the breakfasts delicious. The star was the simple but lovely evening meal which hit the spot after a long journey. The local red wine a bit rough.

Visited on the 26th Friday. Although the location is very good an the rooms are OK, newly refurbished with good en suite, they are very small reminding me of my hostelling days. The major disappointment was turning up after a long day to be told that we could not have anything to eat at the "hotel", even though in the...

For those wanting peace and quiet in a beautiful natural setting, this is a wonderful place in the Avallon/ Pontaubert area during the warmer months. Reception and waiting staff were very pleasant, and Gregory was particularly helpful with his knowledge of local produce and activities. We had a room which, while not large, was adequate and the bathroom was newly...

The renovated rooms are a good standard with cozy and clean beds. The bath is just perfect. The rooms are small. The hallway to the rooms is very basic, not romantic. The road is just next to the hotel, but you can have a quiet sleep. Parking is free on the other side of the road. The little village is...

Room was in perfect condition. Great bed & mattress. Quiet environment. Very friendly welcome. Romantic outside seating. Limited choice of dinner menu but overall price/quality level much better than expected.

The room was tiny but adequate for a one-night stay. Excellent bathroom, comfortable bed, which is really all you need! We could hear the Cousin River raging outside. Lovely sights and sounds; it's a shame it was too wet to sit outside. We had breakfast the next morning. Lovely local breads, jams and honey. A great selection of other breakfast...

Beautifully peaceful spot right by the river. The most romantic stop of the trip south. Although the bedroom was basic it had a lovely big bed. Our one area of disappointment was the weeknight cold spread offering - if it had been more varied we would have definitely eaten there every night.

Superb location, excellent rooms, a charming dining room, and thoroughly helpful staff. The sound of the river is so soothing. You can escape here and just be in the place/moment, but you also have such great history and art and nature all within perfect reach.
