A lovely quiet family resort in a garden setting with lots of shade and a nice pool. Individual bungalows and more contemporary rooms available. Less than 10 minute walk to the beach through a beautiful Temple compound, lots of small restaurants to walk to. We found Harry’s Thai Restaurant at the bungalows the best around and ate there many nights. The staff is friendly and love children. Don’t miss this relaxing experience!

Especially with the price, definitely 5 stars. Simple room but still had good wet bath setup, mini fridge, AC, lamps, etc. Even a little hook on the ceiling, presumably for anyone wanting to bring their own big not (probably not required but I travel with one in Thailand for my own piece of mind). Area is very cute. Very quiet minus some birds at 5am. Reminds of an ancient temple. Staff very friendly. Restaurant great with good prices. About a 5 min walk to beach.
*On a separate note, be warned that if you are staying here to be close to the ferry pier (5 min walk) for Lompraya ferries, the ferry company is currently shuttling you (20 min drive) to the other pier (Lompraya Pier) as that's the only one currently taking ferries "due to weather" but it looks like it's been like that for a while. Shuttle is free but arrive early!

Harry’s bungalows is a quiet resort close to the Maenam pier. The resort has seen better days. The bungalow smelled musty, as it had not been aired for a long time. Cockroaches would enter through the shower drain every night. Our two bed bungalow had a big fridge which was nice. The pool is nice but only 8 sun beds. Overall it needs a little more maintenance. The restaurant seems to be closed. The resort is not far from the main road where are a few bars, nice restaurants and shops are situated.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We just came back from a 10 night trip to KS, 8 of them spent at Harry's and absolutely loved it. We upgraded to a 2 bedroom bungalow, £30 per night and it was a great deal. The accommodation is basic, but clean and has everything you would need for the price paid. A big bed in the main room, and a smaller bed in the extra room.
The air con was good but a bit noisy, but you soon get used to it,
The staff are just lovely and can't do enough for you. We used their taxi service frequently and it was cheaper than any you had elsewhere, for example 200 baht, to Fisherman's village. The grounds are well maintained and there is a pleasant seating area outside the bungalow. The pool area is also lovely and a perfect place to relax. We were the only ones using it for most of our trip. We had breakfast every morning, which was pretty good, but did not use the restaurant in the evening as it was so quiet.
We spent 2 nights in Cheweng, and stayed at the Centara Grand, but can honestly say for the money we paid, approx £100 per night for the Centara we preferred Harry's. If you are looking for luxury, forget it, but if you want a truly relaxing time, with a few decent restaurants close by, then Harry's is the place for you. If we return to Koh Samui, would stay at Harry's again.

Having seen a picture on the net of a bungalow on the beach, entitled Harry's bungalows & restaurant, I booked a superior bungalow for 10 days as this was what I was looking for.
On arrival I found that my bungalow was NOT on the beach , in fact none of the bungalows are. The complex is surrounded by a 10 ft brick wall - no views - beach is a good walk away & outside my bungalow was an ornate pond - a haven for the mosquitoes !! Consequently I got bitten to death on the first night. I checked out after 1 day and moved to a bungalow on the beach with excellent views (what I had wanted originally)- disappointing.

This was a convenient place to meet family coming to visit us in Koh Tao. So my wife and I stayed her with the in-laws because it was nice, affordable and near Lomprayah. The room was large and clean. I truly felt like luxury as I was use to bumming it in Koh Tao. The restaurant was nice, not amazing but not bad. It was very quiet here. I would definitely stay here again for a quick stopover on Samui.

1 downside which they failed to mention anywhere in the comments is how far it is from everywhere... 1 km walk to the main road... 25km from Chaweng... They offer a lift service but it costs 400 baht 1 way... its nice if you want to be away from the hustle of the city or party scene... The restaurant however is the reason for the certificate or excellence.. 😍 wow.. I don't think you could find a better place to eat in the entire Koh Samui... truly a 5 star kitchen, with a very extensive menu and great prices...

We stayed a Harry's for 4 nights. It's quiet, clean, and comfortable. The pool is great, the grounds peaceful, and our standard bungalow was spacious with good air con. Also, the wifi was the best we've had in Asia and worked absolutely everywhere - bungalow, pool, resturaunt, etc.

The resturaunt is good, but spotty. The curries are great and a good value, but breakfast (not included with the room) is average and a little expensive, although the coffees are good. But, there's a market nearby and plenty of other places to eat within 100 meters.

A few tips. The
beach is a 5-10 minute walk. But, you can take a left out the entrance and cut through the neighboring resort, which takes 3-5 minutes. Once on the beach, head
right 200 meters or so (past the resort) until you hit Buddah Bar. There are several massage places, and Buddah Beach Massage is great (and cheap). Buddah bar does good cocktails (100-150 baht, beer 50 baht), and is run by a friendly lady who makes some thai food at lunch as well. Any of the massage places, or the bar, will let you use their beach chairs or hits at no charge if you buy something. So, for 250 baht ($8 USD) you can get a massage and a chair/umbrella for the day. It's 100 baht for a chair at any of the resorts, so this is a great deal. We definitely recommend this stretch of beach, near Buddah Bar - massage and bar but no resorts, so you'll have the water to yourself...

After a very busy month travelling thailand, vietnam and cambodia, arriving here at harry's was bliss!

When we arrived we were given a warm welcome by the receptionist, who spoke fantastic english and helped us out with loads of tour, taxi and general information.

Our room was nice, stabdard bungalow with everything you need, drinks and snacks very cheap! Air con worked a treat. Infact, it got really cold with it on at times!

Pool area was good. Good size, clean, did not see any staff around the area at all, but we didnt really need them, we had our osn towels etc.

The real treat about this place is the gardens. All the bungalows are in amongst beautiful gardens with fish ponds , flowers, secret paths, hammocks and much more. It is so quiet and peaceful, the quality of sleep was great. We originally planned to stay 2 nights but ended up booking 6 and staying for christmas!

The restraunt was nice, good food and super fast service. Staff were a good laugh and friendly.

The only down side was the location. Its a bit far out from shopping, other restraunts and bars and any form of tourist attractions. This is great for the peace you get, but it can get pricey for taxis when nothing worth seeing is in walking distance. (except the beach which is a 3 minute walk).

However, the hotel have their own taxi service and the driver is lovely. He took us to chaweng beach for the day, as well as our airport runs (which were organised by the receptionist easily). If you are needing to do laundry i suggest you do it here, the clothes smell beautiful afterwards, its very cheap and quick too!

I would definately stay here again!

Just returned from a 3 stop trip to Thailand with our first 2 day stop at Harrys Mae Nam .We chose Harrys from the TA reviews and photographs.

Our choice was based on a raitionale that we wanted to be close to the Lomprahya ferry for onwards travel to Koh Tao and also knowing from past experience we would be fatigued after travelling, hence why waste cash on expensive accomodation and class of hotel which presents too many choices for the tired expectant travelers who need to rest . Our rationale was Harrys promised a great place to relax into the Thailand vibe.

On that basis Mae Nam itself was an excelent choice, a good deep beach ideal for swimming, a small town feel, local expats feel in bars and restaurants and a nice boutique type hotel down on the beach to have lunch and watch the tide and comings and goings.

As for Harrys it was minutes away from the beach accessed through the temple grounds and right next to the ferry dock. Harrys had extensive well kept lovingly kept ...actually... gardens orchids and flowes everywhere and a large clean well tended pool. The room was very clean and sheets and towels replaced each day.A stocked fridge of beer, water and soft drinks and some simple toiletries and a hairdryer. A fgan and good aircon always a bonus. Within the grounds was a waterfalls pond, lounging area and library and lots of outside seating spots. The simple comfortable reception area with tourist information was also simple effective and excellent. I felt safe at Harrys and sat out late reading outside our room. The rersort dogs stayed with us until we went to bed and followed us into our accomodation when we returned late at night. In the morning they were there greeting us and doing their jobs well. Fab...

Kung on reception was excellent both before booking and during our stay helping us orientate ourselves

Jim at Harrys restaurant was very helpful and chatty . The quality of the fish choices, cooking and wide menu was superb. One reason for choosing Harrys before we booked was the TA photographs of the trees and teak houses styling. In building the restaurant Harrys has retained the old teak trees and built around them making the most attraxctive traditional feel to the environment and it looked even nicer up close with the stylish lighting at night. There was as great cool breeze coming off the sea onto the balcony which ewas lovely.

Jim also picked us up from the airport on arrival in a great comfortable sedan.
This great gem of a hotel offers reasonable low season rates and a most simple and relaxing style. Well done Harrys this hotels is certauinly on my top 5 list and surpasses most 5 star expereinces because of this simple clean and graceful environment , just loved it...!
