Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui is located on Ko Samui, an island in the Gulf of Thailand just a short travel distance by air from Bangkok and across the southern peninsula. The view of Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui is hypnotic, as its set amidst a secluded ocean cove; an eco-friendly colony of cottages, low rise buildings and villas barely displacing the lush greenery on the hills of the island's northeast corner. 3 restaurants serve Thai, and international food and the hotel hosts regular live music for evening entertainment. A Spa with private Spa Suites, Fitness, bicycle rental and 2 public pools are some of the amenities travelers will find here.

What an amazing stay at Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui! This was our 14th trip to Thailand and our second on the island of Koh Samui. It's rare to be in a resort where luxury, excellent service, true relaxation and value for money all come together. The staff in particular are dedicated and reflect a service culture we have only experienced in very expensive resorts. It's rare also for both the Hotel Manager and General Manager of the resort to be mingling with guests regularly to ensure everyone is happy. We had a beautiful, newly renovated Seaview Pool Villa, large in size and well appointed down to even providing different sweets at turn down. Buggy's are readily available and we took advantage of most parts of the resort. Highly recommend the BBQ night held down at Fishtails with an extraordinary buffet, live band and fire show. This resort is as good as any of the 5 star high end brands in terms of service, the staff are a credit to the management and we would definitely return again - either on our own or with our teenagers. Kaika, Namo, Tiger, Jobert, Ice and even the security guard just to name a few always remembered what we liked and paid close attention to everyone's needs. Special mentions to Manuel (General Manager) and Mark (Hotel Manager) for taking the time to speak to us and to 'Mafia' the resort cat who was always greeting us with his Xmas collar on.

This was our second stay at Tongsai Bay, and I am ashamed to say that we had forgotten how beautiful and charming the hotel and its setting is. Within minutes of arriving we felt the stresses of our crazy working lives wash away to be replaced with a sense of peacefulness.

We both often talk about how we would never visit the same place twice, largely because we feel life is too short and there are so many places in the world we want to visit...but Tongsai Bay gets under your skin, and as much of a cliche as it sounds...it truly is paradise.

The hotel and the rooms are elegant and honest in their design. A refreshing change from the contrived styling rolled out by many of the larger hotel groups, where rooms are plasticised versions of each other and you could be staying anywhere in the world.

Tongsia Bay has a very natural feel about it which is echoed by the resorts efforts to be as environmentally friendly as possible. The rooms and the cottages are spread out across the resort, nestled into the hillside, creating a sense of space. This thoughtful design is sympathetic to the environment, but also enhances the feeling that you are staying in an exclusive location.

The staff were wonderful and the food incredible. Whether you choose to eat lunch at the pool side bar or dinner at Chef Chom's, you will never be disappointed with the very high standards which are produced.

Thank you so much for making our stay with you so special and despite our policy of no return, like many of your guests...we will be back as soon as we can.

With kind regards

Sara & Paul Cussons

Where do I start!! ‘This is the first time we’ve been to Tongsai and certainly won’t be the last!! This has to be the most beautiful tranquil and most relaxing place we’ve ever been too!!
We booked Tongsai to celebrate our friends 20th anniversary, they were married here and continued to holiday here every year. They had a blessing by the beach which was so beautiful, couldn’t think of a more perfect setting.
The staff here work so hard and nothing is ever too much trouble, We’ve never encountered such amazing service and always with a smile.
Room are cleaned daily and kept spotless and also they come to your room in the evening and get your beds ready for you for bed time, they also leave you little cookies in jars too, such a nice touch.
The pool and beach are lovely and like every where else are kept spotless!! The pool boys are brilliant, as soon as you go they come straight over with towels and get your sun loungers ready and come round with complimentary water and cold towels and small pieces of fruit.
The food here is amazing, definitely the best breakfast ever!! So much variety and everything freshly cooked. We tried the Thai tapas night and loved it. We were lucky to experience a private dining one evening for our friends birthday cooked by chef Eak and wow what an experience, beautiful food.
We also tried the spa, had a fabulous massage, so relaxing.
We don’t have any negatives to say about Tongsai bay, the staff here are some of the nicest people we’ve ever met. Thank you Tongsai for making our holiday so special, we really can not wait to return. Love Kelly and Lee xxx

We stayed here for 6 nights at the end of our trip to Thailand, with a view to having some serious relaxation after a busy schedule and weren’t disappointed. Apparently the hotel was only half full due to corona virus concerns but it meant that there was an abundance of sun beds around the various pool areas.

Our room was large with an equally large balcony that had a large bath, two sun beds and and a table and chairs and provided fantastic views of the beach and pool area.

Our stay began with a minor blip at our first dinner but the staff were so good and graceful that it was quickly forgotten and the rest of our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. Breakfast was excellent, with a huge selection of food, fruit juices and smoothies. We dined one night in the Butlers Restaurant, which has an all you can eat tapas style menu and free flowing wine ( optional), which although not cheap at 6000 baths was fantastic and is great for celebrating special occasions. The bar areas were quiet during the evening, maybe due to the hotel being only half full?

Throughout the hotel, the staff were lovely. It’s difficult to pick out individual members but restaurant manager Tang, Kik who also works in the restaurants and Chef Eak were all exceptional. I also have to give a special mention all the pool/beach boys who helped make our days of lying in the sun so comfortable and pleasurable.

The only suggestion that I have, is that maybe the hotel could look to provide a courtesy cab service to the nearby resorts, which many other 5 star hotels provide. Its a 300 baht return trip to the nearest strip of restaurants/ shops and 800 baht return trip to the Fisherman’s Village.

This unique hotel is set in a quiet tranquil location amongst the forest and built on the cliff face to give amazing views of the ocean.
All the rooms face the hotels private beach therefore it’s so peaceful.
We stayed in a pool villa set in a beautiful location with an outstanding view.
The food is totally out of this world each element care is taken and noted on your preferred taste not too spicy to presentation and reasonably priced. The staff are outstanding ‘the land of smiles’. ‘Saweedeka’ nothing is too much trouble. From the cleaning staff Tien she had such an eye for detail with fresh flowers doted around our room was such a treat to see each day. To the breakfast fruit and juice smoothie Chef. ‘Number 1’. (When you visit you will understand)
Sweet and Savoury treats delivered to your room everyday along with fresh fruit.
Now who doesn’t like a cocktail happy hour everyday. The waitress staff alternate from breakfast to lunch to then evening meal each member will go beyond your expectations and nothing is too much trouble. Kit Tang Orb Su Nikita
Are to name a few they are so kind and welcoming their service is exceptional. The reception will arrange taxis to enable you to visit other areas which are so cheap.
We met two repeaters who have been returning 15 x so if that’s not going to tempt you to visit which says it all on why people love Tongsai Bay.

Some areas are a little tired although the whole hotel is having a refurbishment in set phases throughout the season. This however didn’t affect our stay and might tempt us back at some point to just see the fresh new look.

Another fantastic stay at the beautiful Tongsai Bay. Under the superb management of Martin and Mark the staff make your stay so very special, they are exceptional and an absolute credit to the hotel, each and everyone one of them deserves a special mention.

From the moment you arrive you are greeted by the wonderful staff on reception for whom nothing is too much trouble. The service provided by everyone is excellent and always with a smile. To give you a flavour……delicious breakfast and evening meals at Chef Chom Restaurant in a fabulous setting……exquisite Asian food at Butlers Restaurant……delicious food and super cocktails at Po-Lad Restaurant and Bar overlooking the sea……wonderful service at the pool and beach throughout the day……the stylish cottage suites where you awake to beautiful bird song and the sound of the sea......thank you to the room ladies for all the special touches including fresh flowers, fruit and cakes each day.

We have said this in a previous review and wish to reiterate that Tongsai Bay is perfection personified. If you visit Koh Samui and don’t stay at this unique hotel you are really missing out. We were so sad to leave, but it was not goodbye, but thank you so much and see you next year….we can’t wait!

Lovely hotel. We stayed in a Beachfront suite for 10 days and nights. This room is the lowest priced room and absolutely fantastic. The views are as described. You can see the pool and beach and see which is a beautiful view. We wanted to stay somewhere quiet and typically Thai and with great beach views and service and Tongsai meets this criteria.
Previous reviews complain about the price of drinks and food but we thought prices were normal for a hotel. If you want cheap food go to Fisherman’s Village, which is about 15 minutes away in a Taxi. We didn’t leave the hotel much as every setting there is so beautiful we made the most of it. The breakfast is very good with a huge range and good service.
There was one thing that niggled us. There was a 10% service charge added to everything. We therefore didn’t tip. We wanted to tip at the end of our stay those people who gave exceptional service. However it was clear some people were tipping in advance and they were getting preferential treatment at the pool and breakfast with sun beds and tables reserved. Every morning the table we had on our first day was not available to us even when we were there early and was left available for another couple. Very annoying as often the table had no one sat there the whole time we were at breakfast.
I was ill after day two and having informed the staff after attending the hospital on day four due concern was demonstrated.
I can recommend the Thai cookery class which still went ahead even though there were only two of us. I can also recommend the Spa treatments, definitely worth a visit.
We took out a kayak and one of the beach boys took us out on a Hobie Cat.

We’re do I even start....... Arrived here 27th Dec 19 with my husband & sons aged 9 & 15 yrs. That walk in to the lobby & seeing the view absolutely blew us all away & then it just continued to blow us away till we left.
Every single member of staff did there job amazingly I can’t name them individually as they were all fantastic! So professional, thoughtful & amazing at what each of them did within their role.
From serving us our morning coffee, getting the amazing Happy juice, putting out our towels on our sun beds, bringing us fresh ice cold water, cold towels & afternoon fruit.
To serving us our lunch at Po-lad & then going back to our amazing beachfront villa to all the little touches the cleaners did! Pla was lovley 1 day I had overdone the sunbathing & was feeling little tender she came in to clean & looked after me & was so kind........ Thankyou Pla 😘
The Prana spa was beautiful & myself, husband @ youngest son attended! My youngest had the Princes spa package! They made him feel like a real Prince thank you so much!
While here I celebrated my 40th Birthday I had the best Birthday breakfast with special little touches thank you again!
Tongsai bay you truly are an absolutely amazing place & myself & my family had the best time here.

We arrived late on the Sunday 26th June and we promptly met and picked up from the airport.

Check in was super quick and easy despite it being almost 10pm, front desk staff were lovely and incredibly helpful. An electric buggy took us to our room (513). The room looked incredible but the real surprise was the view when we woke up the next morning!

Our pool was amazing and the temperature just right. The outside bath had room for two. The views overlooking the beach were stunning.

The room was made up twice a day by the staff (morning and evening) with plenty of complimentary water, tea, coffee and restock of the mini bar. Each even we were even brought some samples of Thailand dishes to try)

Breakfast was delicious and many thanks to the juice lady for her incredible mixes.

The staff were amazingly friendly and polite, even remembering which tours we were going out on that day and asking us how they were when we got back.

Taxis to the local areas (bophut and chaweng) were cheap and easy to book (one phonecall to the front desk).

All the tours and excursions pick up and drop off at the hotel so we were able to do as much as we wanted safe in the knowledge we could relax easily and comfortably the next day in our room.

We also booked into the spa for an amazing Thai massage from the staff there and definitely recommend that!

We ate a couple times at the po lad bistro on the beach at the resort which was delicious. The Thai Curry night is well worth the experience! Though we would recommend not eating lunch before as there were so many delicious curry's to try.

The resort is easy to get around, either by foot or by using the electric buggy (which we never had to wait for, just one call and they were there).

Overall we can't thank Tongsai bay and its staff enough for an incredible 7 days and an unforgettable and personal experience for our first couples holiday. We moved islands and hotels for the second part of our holiday and immediately regretted leaving.

We will definitely be coming back!

For us the worst thing about this hotel was having to leave it at the end of our stay. It is probably the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in made even better by the lovely staff. We stayed in a Seaview Cottage which consisted of a bedroom/bathroom area, down 3 steps to a lounge area and then outside a large secluded terrace complete with outdoor bathtub. The room was nicely furnished with beautiful hardwood flooring throughout. Our room was a fair way from the centre of the hotel but if you did not want to walk a buggy was just a phone call away. One downside for anyone with disabilities was that even using the buggy there still some steep steps to get to the room, and if we walked back from the beach/pool area there were 97 steps to climb through what felt like a nature reserve.

There are 2 pools, a main one next to the private beach and a half moon pool which was for adults only. The main pool is huge. There are ample sunbeds and the service from the pool/beach staff was great.

There are 3 restaurant, a Thai restaurant, the Beach Bistro and a small restaurant called Butlers which is only open 2 nights a week. Food in all of them was very good. Breakfast is taken in what is the Thai restaurant which is a lovely room with both indoor and outdoor seating.

The staff were excellent - kind, friendly and efficient.

The hotel has great ecological credentials.

I really cannot say enough positive things about the place. Talking to other guests it is obvious that people come back year after year and it is not difficult to understand why.

We loved it and hope to be able to return.

Hi. We can do both. The sofa usage allows you more space to move around the room. Otherwise we can add the extra bed. I recommend you contact our team via Email for more details Both options have been done previous by other guest

Dear Allen C, Thank you for this question. The hotel requires 1000 THB per day / so it would be 6000 THB for your stay. A debit card is not accepted but you could leave a cash deposit. This deposit can also be used for any expenses that need payment upon check out should you have restaurant villa to pay or spa - minibar - laundry We look forward seeing you soon

Are there any places to rent Jet Skis nearby?
Answer from Manuel L
Hello, if you like motorized watersports you would have to go to Choengmon Beach (5 minutes by car or motorbike) or Chaweng Beach (15 minutes by Car or motorbike). In our Hotel we only offer non motorized water sport activities we hope this helps
Answer from Manuel L
Hi, Its about a 10 minutes walk down the road from our Hotel to the "main road" where you have a good choice of restaurants, bars, coffee shops etc. Keep in mind that Choengmon is a more small and relaxed area. Less busy then Chaweng etc. Taxi to Choengmon is only 150 THB To Fisherman Village or Chaweng its 450 THB / way We hope to welcome you here at Garrya Tongsai Bay
