Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Been coming to the Nova Samui for over 20 years, stayed around 6 times in total and enjoyed all our stays.
Got upgraded to a better room closer to reception so that was a great start - thankyou 👍
This time around we have noticed that the rooms are looking tired, quite dark and broken bits of outdoor furniture and the lid on kettle was loose, quite dangerous. The bathrooms are old . If you have mobility problems make sure you book a room close to reception as there are a lot of steps to the rooms at the top!
Wifi was ok, not really a strong signal but sufficient enough to get by.
There is a lovely fountain but wasn't working or switched on for the week we were there which is a shame as the landscaping is lovely.
Breakfast is a bit limited but I have to say we have enjoyed most of the Asian dishes provided each day.
All Staff we have interacted with have been friendly and lovely.
Lovely pool area with plenty of lounges. Listened to the same music every day which got a bit tedious.
Location is ok, about a 10 min walk to town and beach, not good pavements, road is very busy so crossing can be a problem and a lot of roadworks going on in town.
Sometimes the music from the market near central festival is too loud, quietens down after midnight so not too bad.
To be honest, we preferred Lamai as a base, cheaper and better atmosphere.

Nova Samui could be a classy resort again - just needs investment in a much needed refurb.

in need of a bit of tlc as bits of it a bit tatty rundown
room good size but would not advise getting room at higher level 126 steps and no lift i reccomend paying extra for room on lower levels
breakfast ok but limited choice...would stay again as location for night spots etc very good...

Spent eight days at this great little hotel. Very friendly staff. Good rooms and beautiful gardens and pool. Reasonable breakfast provided. Positioned a little way out from the busy beach area but an easy walk there and there is a regular free shuttle bus. Some night noise from the nearby ice bar. There is a really nice family thai restaurant about 200 yards away on the right just before the roundabout on the way into town. (P'aouy restaurant)

We stayed ( me and my wife ) in December 2019 ( 30 days ) and again in March 2020.
Beautiful gardens , good pool and good rooms.
Friendly staff ( especially in the restaurant ).
Shuttle to the beach every half hour.
Large Shopping Center 5 minutes walk.
They just have to improve breakfast and wifi.
This hotel is a 3 star but compared to the many hotels I know , this hotel deserves 4 stars.

We found bedbugs on the first day of our 3 night long stay in Nova Samui Resort. We told the staff and they suggested 2 other rooms for us but when we checked those beds there were bedbugs there aswell. Tried to get a refund but they would not give us any of our money back. Now we have bites on our bodies after sleeping in those beds for one night.

My accommodation as been prepaid so unfortunately I cannot check out and go somewhere else. I am stuck here for another 10 days and it's just terrible.

The staff are rude and unhelpful like the other reviews say. And they make you feel like a burden.

Prior to arriving I emailed for the hotel shuttle to pick me up from the airport, but was told to get a limousine from the airport.

Ordering a simple chicken soup from the room service menu resulted in the phone being hung up on me because the lady couldn't understand.

I aslo tried to book a tour on my first day here and got told "Don't understand" but I got the tour pamphlet from there promotional stand on the front counter!

I wanna cry knowing I am stuck here for another 10 days. I think they do understand they just don't want to be bothered.

It's terrible, just terrible.

IiWe have stayed at this hotel since year 2000, sometimes twice a year we have never had a problem with staff they are great if you are polite to them they are very helpful I have been in reception many times when guests have be very rude to staff, I think some people want five star hotels but only want to pay three star prices.
three star money, each room is cleaned every day towels are also changed daily, also the hotel supply towels for the pool and beach. There is free safe, tea & coffee, and free bottled water daily for the price I don't think you could find better, and a special mention to Joke, the pool barman I have know him many years always smiley and always making the pool area is swept clean. We are not the only couple to return year after year we have made many friends that we meet every year from different parts of England & Europe.

My friends and I stayed here for 7 nights, the gardens are immaculate and colourful, pool area was clean and inviting (especially for the 4 hour happy hour) the rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff are so lovely and helpful, can not say enough about them (the bar tender joke is the best!!!) The only possible downside would be the stairs, there are a lot so may not be for everyone, but we didn't have an issue with them. Location is perfect and only a 10 minute walk to chaweng, there is a shuttle bus too but it's a nice walk. Would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to people.

Arrived at hotel, not that far from airport. There are quite a few steps to get up to reception, did not see any lift, so not good if you have any problems with steps. All looked very clean, Reception staff very friendly, and check in all good. We stayed in a junior suite, which again was very nice, All wood, looks a little dated, but overall nice, it's what you see in the pictures. Bathroom a little dated, but nothing to worry about, room was clean, and nothing to complain about really.
Our room had nice balcony, over looking pool area, which was nice,
Pool was great, very clean and well looked after, only problem here is it closed at 6pm thought that was a little early.
Breakfast was basic, not the best to be honest, but staff very friendly, hotel was not busy, so may be choice limited. Internet, worked but not great,
Overall nice little resort, we had a nice stay here, would defiantly be back, remember it is a 3 star resort not a 5 star, so it's great value for the money. Only a short walk to shopping area, and a bit further to walk to beach area, they offered free transport to the beach. But we walked. Free beach towels from reception each day.
