Arriving after a long delayed flight, we were immediately made welcome by the reception staff. We were offered a ice cold drink and a flannel to wash our faces and hands. After a short booking in we were taken to our room - a deluxe villa. The villa had recently been refurbished and was lovely. Plenty of storage space and hangars for clothes. The bed was firm but comfortable, The ensuited had a shower with a rain drop shower head, which was perfect and refreshing, We had a lovely view of the ocean and of the rest of the resort from our Villa - No 11. There was a bar just a short distance away from the pool which served a large range of cocktails, beers and food. The bar staff were very attentive and always willing to bring you a drink or some food wherever you sat/laid. The infinity pool was small but delightful, warm and clean. We never had to worry about getting a sunbed as there was enough beds for two to each villa, and with only about 12 Villas not overcrowded. Located just by the main road the noise level was minimum in the villas and by the pool not audible. The occasional plane flew over to land but that didn't deter the peacefulness of this resort. We did eat at restaurants on the main drag, just to get pout and about. The pavements are a bit ropey and at times impassable and you have to walk into the road, which can be busy with motorbikes and cars. The restaurants we went to were lovely and served a variety of meals but we mainly stuck to Thai, The Boat Bar, Khoa Khom, Secret garden and Noi family were our choices and of these Khao Khom was our favourite. we took one trip while we were there to the Ang Thon National Park, an all day trip but well worth it, again reception booked this and gave us a discount and we didn't have to pay until we checked out - Simple. At time of check out we had asked reception to book us a taxi for our onward resort and this was done at a reasonable price and guaranteed to turn up (yes 15 mins early but he was there. The check out was simple and quick and we were soon sat in our air conditioned mini van off to our next resort

We had a restful and refreshing time in Koh Samui staying at the Saboey Resort and Villas. Conveniently located near the airport, the resort provides a lovely breakfast and has courteous and very helpful staff. We enjoyed the infinity pool and poolside restaurant and our beautifully appointed garden villa. We had a great massage right on the beach. From the resort we were able to take Grab vehicles to many other sights and restaurants around Koh Samui. We’d surely love to go back again sometime!

Stayed here for the last two nights of our two week Thailand holiday. Very handy for the airport and loved watching the planes flying over. Gorgeous food and THE most delicious Mango Lassi, I think it was called, long drink. The best soft drink I’ve ever tasted and served by very friendly waiter/barman. Lovely pool and jacuzzi right on the beach. Excellent views of boats coming in and out. Wish we could’ve stayed longer. We stayed in one of the hotel rooms which was beautifully decorated with flowers on our arrival. Another time we’d stay in one of the bungalows facing the sea. Can’t praise this place and it’s staff highly enough. Thank you.

I just want to put up a quick review of Saboey because they looked after us so well, it was my partners 50th birthday and they went all out with spoiling her and making a big deal about it, even making a little make shift fruit platter with candles.

Location,

location is amazing with some great little bars about too, believe me you will have more facebook friends when you leave. the beach is beautiful, you wont stop taking photos of the sky and the sea together, at sunset its so beautiful.

rooms,

our room was ocean 4 and it was only 15 steps away from the beach, it was just amazing. the aircon was very good and again, the staff did the bed everyday and they all work so hard. You can tell that the team have been there a while and they all know each other.

I just want to add that the owner of Saboey should really be proud of the team he has working there. We will definitely go back, Bang rak is a great place to be! I miss all the faces we met so much, in the resort and out of the resort , you really all made a big impression.

We have stayed at Saboey Resort and Villas on a number of occasions. It never fails to impress. The friendly efficient staff, ably led by General Manager Mr Vichit, showcase the Thai smile. With adequate accommodation set in delightful gardens, the quiet, beautiful, white sanded beach together with the infinity pool and spa, it sets the stage for most enjoyable relaxing holidays. While the resorts restaurant is capable of delivering excellent meals, variety flavour and presentation, there are other restaurants within easy reach offering food at various levels from Thai street food to fine dining Thai, French and Italian cuisines. Concluding a day at Saboey with witnessing a brilliant full sky red sunset is one of life’s great experiences. Cannot commend Saboey highly enough.

The resort is in a good location, on the beach, with lovely gardens, a good pool (with views out to sea) and a nice bar area. It's generally quiet, apart from being on the flight path into Koh Samui airport - but the airport isn't busy and you soon get used to it. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and other businesses close by.
We had a lovely comfortable villa only a few steps from the pool and the beach.
The staff were very good - on the last day I left me=y credit cards in the safe in the room and someone came all the way up to the ferry terminal to give them back to me.

I stayed there by myself for 2 nights. The first night was in a beach villa and the second night was in a standard suite. Both rooms were clean, the food was good, has a nice quiet little beach, rooms were reasonably priced. The staff was very helpful. I went to Koh Toa for a day and the staff at Saboey even held onto my larger luggage for me overnight. I would definitely recommend this resort.

We stayed one night in Saboey. The room was very big, very nice and perfectly clean. The staff was also very nice and helpful. The pool area is beautiful und directly at the Beach. The only con is that the planes arriving at the airport near the hotel make some noise. But of course this ist not the fault of Saboey.

We stayed here after walking up the beach and having a look at a few of the other places to stay. It was leagues above the other resorts. At the time it was just in the throws of being finished, (the 2 floor units by the road were nearing completion).

It`s a fairly small development of around a dozen or so individual "bungalows" with a central swimming pool (more of this later). Ours looked out over the beach, when they say a stone`s throw from the beach it usually means a short taxi ride, in our case it was literally a very gentle lob. A couple of steps over the grass and there you were ! The beach it`s self is very quiet, it`s relatively narrow, not 100`s of yards deep, but the only people you`ll see are the odd folk walking up and down.

Most of the other accomodation locally took the form of older wooden huts which were a bit tired and definately places you would stay on price rather than quality. In our case the bungalow was block and render with a tiled roof. You walked into a lovely full height bedroom through patio doors. To one side was a small area which housed a fridge and a work surface. A seperate room housed a sunken bath and clothes storage area, a third room the bathroom with a lovely slate floor, designer sink unit and open wet room shower. There was a small bar in the middle of the development and to one end of the pool. The room was air conditioned.

Now about this pool - how good does life get. Floating in crystal clear water looking over the edge of an infinity pool into a calm sea. It makes the swimming pool seem as it goes on for ever. You feel like you`ve just won the lottery and have got the biggest pool in the world.

We had massages in our room from a woman who worked along the beach, and spent most of the time by the pool or on the beach. Breakfasts were taken in one of the bar / restaurants along the beach or delivered to our room although by now I would imagine there is a small restaurant on site. As we had a jeep we drove into fisherman`s village most evenings, a 5 minute drive, and where there were some great places to eat. The local people were really friendly.

A great place to stay and somewhere that brings back happy memories. As for the rating, well for what it is I`ve given it 5 stars, it`s not a luxury 5 star resort with people throwing rose petals in front of you and it hasn`t got 3 restaurants and 9 swim up bars. It`s low key, clean and relaxed. The road that runs directly behind the resort is fairly busy but not intrusive and only a local road. Besides it is well shielded and in fairness most places on the island by the sea are going to suffer in the same way.

There was 24 hour security on the property at night though this is definately one of the quieter areas. At the time we were visited there was a weekly BBQ at a bar a couple of hundred yards down the beach which was fun, live music and people from all walks of life. Where else would you meet a 17 stone Budist monk from shefield ! The wooden jetty a hundred yards away would take you to Koh Phangan as well as other trips.

Local fishing boats anchored up a couple of hundred yards offshore sometimes which was a spectacle. If you can get one of the beach front bugalows.

Have fun and keep smiling.

Just spent three glorious days at the Saboey (18-21 Apr) - our favourite place on Koh Samui.

Small, intimate, quiet, low-key, yet classy resort made wonderful by its super location right on the beach, a superb GM in the form of Jon Feaver, and wonderful staff. From Dao, Kie and Nong reception staff (led by Mr Atth, Front Office Manager), to Jib, Oil, Sak, Joy and everybody else in Food & Beverage, including Mr Yut, the head chef - to a person the staff could not be more helpful, engaging and friendly.

Saboey resort I definitely would say is at the top end of 'Boutique'. If you're after a large resort experience with 'everything' to offer and multitudes of staff (and crowds!) then Saboey is not for you. If you want somewhere that is relaxing, singular, non-fussy yet caring then this is the place.

The villas are sumptuous and well appointed; the Beach villas 1 and 2, and the Ocean Villas 3 and 4 surround the magnificent infinity pool, which although not quite big enough for lap swimming is large enough to enjoy a splash and swim while one looks over the beach and the sea beyond. Nice raised jacuzzi feeding in to the pool. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool area, and Beach Villa 1 and 2 have their own.

Food is excellent at the pool bar; breakfast is not the 'large' buffet style yet the a la carte options are varied and well cooked. Western as well as Thai dishes on offer. We ate in the resort for two of three nights and were most happy with the food, and of course the service.

I hadn't written a specific review for our stay before this - over Christmas 2014, which was a superb time away for us and the family, and where the staff had practiced for a Christmas Carol concert before the Xmas Dinner night. If one is going to have a SE Asia Christmas break then Saboey is the place to come!

This has been our last visit to Saboey while we still live relatively close by in Malaysia, however, we WILL be coming again from our next location further afield from here (I have an interest in a local diving company: 100 Degrees East Marine Team - check them out here on Tripadvisor).

I would not hesitate to recommend Saboey to friends, family and colleagues and can't wait to return...

Hi There are many massage shops within walking distance, but we have a very good one on the beach in front of the resort, which I can recommend .There are also shops and cafes in walking distance from the resort. Fisherman village is a short motor bike trip away, you can walk it,but it would take a good 25 to 30 mins. If you like to walk it is possible to walk to the local temples along the beach most of the way.As for aircraft noise, all of the resort on this side of the island you will hear the planes landing, but I have been here 8 years as manager and have only 2 guests that thought it was a problem. If you are interested in booking, please contact us at the resort for more information. We look forward to hopefully seeing you next year
