Really enjoyed my return to the Smile House after too long an absence.

As I booked late I had to settle for a (Standard) bungalow at the back of the complex, shown to me by Bee the concierge, but that didn't affect the exemplary housekeeping service with my room being made up each day and 4 towels being supplied each day.

Whilst the beach is literally across the road from this hotel, the 15 metre pool is a major draw for me, with some very pleasant guests, incl. families, mainly from Europe, also taking advantage of the clean and spacious pool.

The buffet breakfast overlooking the sea was excellent, and this restaurant offers all-day service, and dinner where my one of my favourite Thai dishes, Chicken Pad Khing, was on offer. All of the staff are exemplary at this resort, and in the restaurant, Tookta and Fang were particularly helpful & charming.

Fisherman's Village has added a few upscale bar/restarants and also a few spas in recent years. As I was on a budget, these bars added less for me and I drank in a Thai-only bar on the fist parallel road quite often. The neighbouring Hansar hotel also has three Happy Hours, two in the evening.

For massages, the first one on the left, almost next to the restaurant, offers a good beachfront & friendly service. If you're after sightly smarter facilities, I recommend the Sukara spa over the other other new spas nearer to the hotel.

I love this hotel and I would like to thank Tik in reception, and the owner, for accomodating my wishes during my stay.

I would also strongly recommend Shahda Yoga, operating out of the Elysia resort, where Era runs a highly profficient 90-minute class from 7:30 am. 2,000 THB for 5 sessions.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel. It is in a convenient location next to bars and restaurants in the fishing village. We were upgraded to a cabin as the place was fairly quiet which was large, had good air conditioning and was very clean. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was good with lots of hot water. The room had a kettle and complimentary coffee and tea. There was a balcony with comfortable chairs and even a fan above for extra comfort. The maids changed the sheets every day and brought fresh towels including the beach towels. There were two pools on site hidden amongst the beautiful well kept gardens and they were a good size and open till 9 pm. The buffet breakfast was in front of the beach and there was a decent selection of salad, fruit, bacon, an egg station and the usual yoghurts and toast etc. The staff keep the beach clean and there are a few sun beds but not enough to house everyone in peak season. The hotel gave us a voucher for 15% to use in the restaurant which was very good food although a little pricey. All the staff were very pleasant and I could not find fault with this hotel as it was worth the price we paid.

I vacationed at the Smile House from 08/10 - 08/16/2022, I reserved a Grande Deluxe Suite #201. The room was very large and near the pool and kept very clean by housekeeping. The location of the resort is very good and within walking distance of several restaurants within Fisherman's Village and the night market. I must say the breakfast buffet offered by the hotel is nothing spectacular but it served it's purpose. I ate dinner at the hotel's restaurant once and it was quite good, just don't sit under the trees or you may end up having ants crawl on you. The best thing about this resort is the location, dead smack in the middle of all the action. If I return to Koh Samui I may consider staying here again.

we stayed at a bungalow which was very big and clean.

the garden is well maintained and u will enjoy an relaxing atmosphere.

the staff was very polite and helpful.

nice swimming pool with many sun beds and shades.

the breakfast was a set menu but they will allow u to order more if u like.
the breakfast served at the restaurant with amazing view of koh phangan.

we also had dinner at the hotel resturant the food was o.k but like all others resturants in this area it was very pricey.

over all great place to stay right on the middle of the fisherman village main street.

we will definitely ome back.

If you want to be right on the walking street full of tourist every night with high priced food and drinks this is your place. I wanted to try it once and glad I did but 2 nights were enough. The room was upgraded but, because of all the foliage (jungle) there are mosquitos at night. The room was basic with good free wi-fi.

However it was a little tricky walking around as there were 5 elevation changes from the bed to the shower. I tripped a few time and at night you had to really pay attention. The from desk staff was ok not very friendly, when inquiring about a ride to the airport was quoted 400 Baht for 15 minute ride. In BKK I paid 320 for a 1 hr. taxi ride to my condo. When I asked about grab she said there was no grab on the island. She wanted me to use her service I assume she owns or gets a kickback from. I did take a ride service for less than her quoted price but still pricy.

I had a very pleasant breakfast with so so choices, I went with the omelet and was happy. They had a coffee machine that made so so cappuccino, they could have used a regular coffee pot and I would have been happier. We sat by he window looking at the bay very enjoyable and the staff was friendly.

The pool was clean and large enough to do laps but don't go there after dark as the little bugs will eat you alive. The last night had to listen to Reggae music too long before I could sleep. So do not stay there if you want to sleep early in the evening. Overall good value for the $, but probably will not stay there again.

We absolutely loved this resort and it gets five stars from us - we had a really comfortable and enjoyable stay and feel so refreshed. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade upon arrival to a deluxe room and we had a beautifully spacious room with a fridge, very comfortable bed and a really nice bathroom. The air con was great and kept us nice and cool. The staff were brilliant and kept our room spotlessly clean and replenished our towels.

The hotel has two really nice big pool areas with lots of loungers and shade and the beach is across the road and a short walk away with stunning views of Ko Phangan. The resort is close to lots of bars and restaurants with so much choice.

The breakfast provided was the only downside and was average. We would have loved to have had some Thai options and a bit more variety, but the fruit was really good. The grounds of this resort are so beautifully kept and the staff work hard to ensure that everything is beautifully maintained. We would come back and stay here in a heartbeat. A wonderful resort

On the upside:
1) The place is beautiful, clean and perfectly maintained.
2) The steaming pools are lovely.
3) The rooms are big and nice.

But, the downside:
1) The receptionist attitude is unwelcoming and for every request stats by saying big and unfriendly NO.
2) The internet speed in the room is 1Mb or not at all.
3) The street is very touristic and the prices are very high compared to other places.

There is a lot of vegetation, the bungalows are in the middle of all green area. It’s just in the middle of the center and still it’s quiet and comfortable. They upgrade our room without asking for it. In the room 104 you can hear an strange noise from a machine that was a little annoying but otherwise it’s ok

Great position in the middle of the fisherman village, not much traffic. Lots of shops and restaurant nearby.
Very nice bungalows and beautiful gardens.
Food at restaurant is good but they put an extra 17% on top of the price in the menu card for service and tax. But they then give you 15% of if you are staying at the resort. Some staff in the restaurant are not very friendly.
Good breakfast buffet and very good coffee.
Nice and clean beach.

We stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay. We were in Bungalow 209 which was nicely positioned to the rear of the property and was in a quiet location. The grounds and pool area were nicely presented. The deck area at the front of our Bungalow was a good size and we enjoyed our afternoon drinks there but went out and bought some mozzie coils which worked well. We attended the night markets twice and enjoyed what it offered which was only a short walk away and runs 3 days a week. The only down side, the shower area could do with a good clean and the breakfast was below average.

Hello. Is it possible to make a reservation for an evening meal for non guests. Thanks. Liz

From memory (Jan '23) there are loungers on the beach but not umbrella's which are limited to the pool area, where each pair of loungers has lavish cushions AND an umbrella.

I go to use this hotel for the fabulous pool to be honest but the sea has direct access from the hotel dining area. It is calm and shallow and fine to swim in, but I use other beaches in Thailand to swim in, where I don't have access to such a good pool. Fine to sunbathe on the beach, loungers provided, and then return to the pool for a couple of hours where a shower is provided.
