I stayed with family for one night to get the ferry to kpp the next morning. The staff were helpful and allowed us to keep our bags safely in reception and use the facilities whilst our rooms were being cleaned. On the sea side of the road the hotel is very modern, very clean and has a small restaurant. When our rooms were ready we were taken across the road to an old school resort with detached rooms surrounding a garden and pool, not quite as modern as the other side of the road but for the price we were paying it was good value.

It did have its own pool on ‘our’ side of the road which was fine.

It’s close to the airport so plane’s do pass over very close once an hour or so, but this is a feature when staying for a day or so… not sure I would feel the same if I were staying longer.

A good place for a stopover.

We stayed in the garden side rooms and for $33/night this place was fantastic!! The pools are awesome to just relax al day with two nice restaurants to choose from. Obviously not the cheapest you can get (go a little down the road for that), but very affordable prices. They also have some very fancy looking rooms on the beachside and near the pool which looked lovely, but we were fine with our budget room with fan to save the money. To get to the nice pools you have to cross the road (resort is split over the road). One restaurant is open 24hours which is great. Very helpful and friendly staff who can book ferry tickets and tours etc. Directly under the flight path so planes are loud going over every hour or so, but these seem to stop by 10pm and start again about 6:30/7am. Honestly didn’t bother us much at all. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. Room was clean and serviced every day with drinking water, and bathroom is clean and usable. A bit annoying with toilet getting wet when you shower and sometimes the Classic thailand drain smell coming up, but this place was better than most considering the price.

This is a good value for money spot stayed in a no Aircon room and it was OK cool enough at night. Water each day shower is a wet room so everything gets wet. If you want to sleep past 6-7am and before 10pm this is not the spot for you as it’s on the runway so every departing and arriving plane goes through your room. With this said you only sleep in your room so not the end of the world

A great place to stop if transitioning between islands from either Koh Tao or Koh Phangan and are boarding a flight from Samui to Bangkok or alternative destinations. Location is perfect for the Samui Seatran ferry for early morning departures or afternoon. The resort provides a taxi service to the ferry for 50 baht and also to the airport.(price varies) But if you book directly with the resort and arriving at the airport to Samui they will arrange a free taxi pick up to the resort.

The owner is lovely and very accommodating, reception staff greeting exceptional and housekeeping amazing. They also provide room service from their restaurant on site - just a room phone call away. The restaurant food portions are huge and great value for money especially when ordering the Thai Dishes which are austenitic and delicious. We have the Laab Kai and Morning Glory with crispy pork. A definite dish to choose.

Nearby are massage places and beauty salons if needed along with pharmacy and 7/11 within walking distance.

We stayed in the Pool view and ocean view rooms, Beds are extremely comfortable with several amenities, BBC tv news and Fox movies available, and mini bar/snacks with fridge provided.

Would definitely recommend staying at Samui Mermaids.

Originally my friend and I were very excited to stay at Samui Mermaid Resort as a luxury part of our backpacking trip. Don't let the gorgeous photographs of the resort fool you as they did us - we were left extremely disappointed! After checking in we were walked across the road by a member of staff to the cheaper rooms, but by no means cheap compared to our places in the area, that looked very tired and didn't have any air conditioning. These rooms are also directly below the airplane path that was very loud.

In terms of resort facilities, there is a small outdoor pool with the bungalows across the road that was mediocre as you're almost next to the road. Unfortunately, you are also forbidden from using the infinity pool on the beachfront unless you are a VIP guest despite it having been totally empty during our entire visit!! The only saving grace of the resort are the staff who were incredibly helpful in helping us to organise expeditions around the island.

However, all in all, the resort was terrible value for money and I would suggest avoiding it at all costs.

Stayed for 4 nights in a delux double room with balcony it was tucked away with a view of the next delux room so you wouldn’t really sit out but the actual property is right on the beach lovely swimming pools and fantastic views. The room was basic and it had all we needed decent shower tv fridge hair dryer a kettle and air con but the bed was a bit too firm for out liking. For the location it has which is right on bagrak beach it’s was very quiet only noisy on a Saturday night as bar across the road seems to have party night on a Saturday that goes on into the early hrs. You’ll get plenty plane noise as it’s on direct flight path for planes landing. Only thing I will advise is you get two free bottles of water when you arrive they are in your room and these are replaced every day DO NOT remove the bottles from the room you’ll be charged 25 baht per bottle. We arrived back at room one night and we had not had water replaced we thought nothing of it until check out when they check your room if you don’t have 4 bottles in the room you will be charged 50 baht for the missing bottles and saying that you never had them in the first place has absolutely no relevance you are told you have to pay SO BEWARE it’s only 50 baht but it seems it happens frequently. All in all good hotel nice friendly staff and a really good location for the airport and ferry piers.

Seemed nice at the start at check in and was excited to get into our room after seeing great photos online. But then we were driven across the busy road to the worse part of the resort to our room that didn’t even have aircon in the 35 degree heat. There was barely any amenities in the room just a tiny bottle of soap and ripped towels. When I asked for a towel to use by the pool I was asked for my room number then told I wasn’t allowed one (due to being in the cheap rooms across the road). The staff treated us like we were second class citizens and it felt purely because we were in the cheap rooms. I would never return to this hotel, i’ve stayed in nicer hostels that cost £5 a night that have nice bedding, proper towels and amenities. Probably the worst hotel/resort i’ve ever stayed in my life.

I stayed here 13 years ago and in returning, it has a new more modern wing built onto it.

We stayed in a beachside bungalow at approx £35 a night, stunning value. Sea view and doors open onto a lovely pool.

The hotel is situated in a quieter area of samui but Cheweng is around 10 minutes away in a taxi. As Thailand prices go, the taxis are fairly expensive, around 300 baht one way.

We will deffo be back to this hotel, its great value.

The hotel also rents out mopeds at 250 baht a day.

Stunning hotel at Great value.

There are 3 parts to this hotel, rooms with fans are just over the road, the other two are on the beach. I stayed in the garden side, great view from my patio overlooking the pool & straight out to sea.

The rooms are adequately equipped with kettle & TV etc. , but to be honest the TV was never turned on.
The food is good and value for money same as the drinks. Staff are friendly & offering advice of where to go.

The only issue may be if you are a light sleeper as the first plane comes directly overhead at 06:00 am and may wake you up.

Overall a good place to just relax and chill

Buyer Beware: pictures are of beachfront part of the property, they have a “across the street” part also, checked in and bed was broken. They showed us another room and same thing, then a third room with the same problem. Did not try to upgrade us into a room that has say a mattress that’s not broken. It blows my mind that you run a hotel and the most important thing is the bed and they are broken…haha can’t make it up.
Imagine buying anything broken and saying the last guest didn’t complain! Just beyond words.
Got a refund and walked to Punnpreeda beach resort where guess what: they have mattresses that aren’t broken! Go figure
(Oh and here comes their fake reply below: we are so sorry Blablabla…how about you rectify the problem when you had the chance)

The planes fly over on take off. They are loud but didn’t bother us. First time is a bit of a shock but then you get used to it. Won’t put me off going back.
