The Garden Route in general is one of the most incredible places that South Africa has to offer, but Storms River was a wonderful hidden gem. We stayed in one the rustic log cabins at the mouth and it was secluded and boasted the best scenery I have seen in ages. The camp also

Arrived Sunday afternoon. Road to accommodation blocked by long queues of parked cars. Too many steps to accommodation unit, stove top so badly damaged cannot use it. Restaurant shop area full of tourist busses ( should have separate facilities for day visitors ( we pay a

We have been going there every 6-8wks for 7 years and have seen ever since the restaurant burnt down, how backwards it has gone. The showers are old and nasty, mould and many times toilets leaking on the floor due to poor maintenance, windows stuck or broken. Burnt down

Storms River Mouth Restcamp is located in an idilic location with the chalets almost on the rocks. If you love the sea this is the ideal spot for you! The chalets are getting old and run down and I don’t see any being renovated or replaced. SANparks makes a lot of money from

I recommend the Waterfall Trail: it’s a 3 hour hike which will take you past waterfalls, caves and beautiful views of the ocean. For activities, there’s a small village nearby with many different activities including canoeing, zip lining and forest tours on a segway. I’ve only done the canoeing and it was great! I did find the prices a little bit inflated unfortunately. Since you’re only staying for a night, I recommend deciding on what you’re interested in doing before arriving. If it’s an activity such as canoeing, check that they’re open on the day you’ll be there.

Hi, yes you can store things in the kitchen fridge at your own discretion. As with backpackers, noone can vouch for your goods and things do go missing, but you'll find that most of the time your steak will be where you left it.

Do they provide towels?
Sorry we are unable to help with your accommodation as we had a two bedroom chalet. But it's worth staying there and at least two nights its a lovely place to stay!

"The three 'honeymoon' cabins are the best because they are secluded and have the best views."
"Avoid the cabins next to the resturant. If you go Forest Hut, get with a bathrom to avoid midnight bush strolls."
"Pay a bit extra to have a shoreline hut"
"Take the ocean view huts. They're bigger and the view worth it"
"Any accommodation is fine. The environment makes this place : sea, walks, old trees, the dolphins, otters, sea, outdoor pool,"
