We stay the whole family, my husband and I and our two daughters and I can only say La Belle Demeure is an extraordinary place to stay. Philippe and Richard are the best hosts we could imagine. The family room is big and very confortable, with all you may need. Sleeping there was peaceful. What to say about the great breakfast, all home made and with local products. If you stay in La Belle Demeure, you have to have dinner there. The experience of sharing with other guests and the hosts is simply amazing. Richard is the best cook in the world. Everything was tasteful and healthy as it was made with great love and care. Our old daughter is vegetarian and se enjoyed the most delicious food there. We had 3 dinners there. The location of the house is excellent if you want to know the beautiful Perigord region. Philippe helped us a lot with the reservations of restaurants for dinner and of canouing. We spent two nights at La Belle Demeure as part of a family bike trip (organized through Aquitaine Bike, also wonderful). We are two parents and two children aged 11 and 14. We had dinner both nights with Richard and Philippe and were joined by two other guests who were visiting from Switzerland. The meals were wonderful, and we especially enjoyed the opportunity to chat and visit with travellers from another country, and best of all to be joined by our hosts. Richard and Philippe managed to keep the meal on track expertly while at the same time dining with their guests and sharing information and experiences about the area, the food and many other things. It was like staying with friends. After dinner Richard invited us to join him and Lennox (the dog) for a walk. One of the nights there was a festival in the village and Richard accompanied us to it. Our kids rode the bumper cars while the adults danced to french pop music. Richard and Philippe were incredibly thoughtful and attentive. For example taking our water bottles to half-freeze overnight so that they would stay cold on our rides the next day. Or booking our canoe rental at a reduced price, or sharing the sandwich choices at the local bakery. Richard also introduced us to the french version of Wordle. (It's called Le Mot). We would have stayed longer if we could have. There is plenty to do in the area and La Belle Demeure is a warm and welcoming home base.…

Our third trip to La Belle Demeure which I think gives a clue to the standard of this B and B. The service and attention to detail in every area is second to none. Philippe and Richard do everything possible to ensure that you enjoy your stay. We always eat with them during and the the food is well priced and excellent quality. We look forward to visiting again in 2024.

I wish we could say the place is terrible, so that the availability is always there for us, but the opposite is the case. An extremely attentive couple who are born hosts. One is looked after 24/7 and the evening meals (pre-book please) are wonderful, local, haut cuisine and soooo affordable (about €36 for a 4 course dinner). Many thanks to Richard & Philippe. Another wonderful stay at La Belle with Richard Philippe and Lennox .Every thing was perfect as usual from the friendly welcome to the delicious food around the table in the evening. An ideal location to explore the Dordogne valley and then relax by the pool in the late afternoon .Very comfortable rooms and delightful garden and terrace .Their hospitality is exceptional and the chance to spent a delightful evening around the table is a perfect end to the day .

Absolutely the best place I’ve ever stayed. Beautiful clean designer room with gorgeous outdoor area to relax in. Our hosts went above and beyond….. from afternoon aperitif, to delicious 4 course meals, to friendly chatter and then to helping us organize and book wonderful adventures , La Belle Demeure is perfect. ........why hesitance? Because if you loved a place, you prefer to keep it to yourself, otherwise it gets overrun with "idiots". However, as La Belle Demeure is already rated as a gilt edge location, I have to be honest and say "IT´S TRUE !!" Phillippe & Richard are EXCELLENT Hosts, Richard is a fantastic cook, and as an Englishman, puts the local French Chefs to shame. The place is an oasis of relaxation & good taste. Highly reccomendable. (Richard - I will send my bank details for the bribery money :))

Absolutely fabulous place! First rate location, comfortable room, and marvelous hosts! Richard and Philippe are very welcoming and are happy to offer suggestions on what to see in the area. And they offer delicious table d’hote dinners. We had two dinners, and both were delicious, and conversation flowed. They care about their guests and will frequently go above and beyond to be helpful.

Just wonderful ! Fabulous rooms, fabulous food and fabulous hosts. Richard & Philippe are super hosts, very welcoming and do everything they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. They are experts in the surrounding area, full of recommendations of things to do, places to go and see. They happily organised canoeing and cycling for us and we're willing to assist when we needed a bit of help with French translation. We stayed in the family suite which was perfect for a family, lovely bedrooms and plenty of space to relax after a day out or an afternoon spent by the pool. The terrace from the room leads straight down to the pool area. The food was incredible, starting with the breakfast on the terrace under the vines to the optional evening meal. We would highly recommend joining the evening three course dinner when possible, incorporating a fantastic range of local produce including fresh strawberries and local duck. It's a very social affair with the other guests. Richard is an amazing chef and Philippe makes the most amazing apperitifs from local ingredients such as walnuts. A lovely welcome,we were exceedingly well looked after,the bedroom suite was great with a lovely view from the window.Beautiful situation, you could stay a week and still have more to do and see within minutes of the property.
