We are a newly renovated 4-bedroom B&B located in an old farm house on a hilltop just 1.5 km from the lovely, sandy beaches of the Gulf of Punta Ala. You can see the Island of Elba from the house, and there is always a nice breeze to keep you cool in the summer. Breakfast is eaten in the hall with a vaulted ceiling. All facilities (tennis, sailing, bike rentals, restaurants and supermarket)as well as free parking for the beach, are available to our guests at the nearby PuntAla Camping Resort. We are on the edge of the Natural Park called 'Bandite di Scarlino' with thousands of hectars of woods, biking and hiking trails. It is just a 45 minute shady walk to the famous "Cala Violina". Ellen and Luciano would be happy to welcome you, and both speak fluent English, Italian, German and French.

Strategically located really close (1,5 km) to the camping Punta Ala onto a small. quiet, and green hill. You can have all the comfort like at home avoiding the camping chaotic jam. You can still use all the service located in the camping including several beach services (not for free) as the bar, beach umbrella, sun loungers, massage service, e-bike rental, restaurants, sailing courses, mini market, tobacconist. The host, Hellen, is a very welcoming woman. She is discreet and a good speaker if you want. The rooms are arranged all around the ground floor so that any room can enjoy private access to a green from which you can have a wonderful view on the Alma river valley down to the beach where it is located the camping. Some tables in the garden, decks, and sun loungers are available in the garden so that you can relax there if you prefer. All the rooms are clean with private bathroom. The common area is well equipped with tables for breakfast and a freezer that you can use for some of your food and drinks. There is also a refrigerated water dispenser. …

Thank you so much for your wonderful review of Boccadalma. Even after 8 years running this place, it's still nice to get a pat on the back, especially when it's the end of the season and we're starting to get tired. I enjoy my chatting with the guests and try to understand what each person expects from a B&B, without me being too present. Hope to see you here again. Repeat guests are the very best compliments we could ever have. Thanks again, Ellen and Luciano

We stayed two nights, and were very happy with our experience. Ellen was lovely and helpful in all regards. The bed was comfortable, the room charming, the views great, the location amazing, next to the best beaches in Tuscany (Cala Civette, Cala Violina, Casetta Civinnini. and Punta Ala. Breakfast was ample and flexible (sweet or savory), and the atmosphere relaxed and easy. Recommended!

My mom and I came to visit this bed and breakfast on a trek through Italy in mid June. Upon arrival, both owners greeted us in the friendliest and most hospitable manner. One of them even assisted with our luggage getting to our rooms (as my mom is older and struggled sometimes with her bags). They took time to show us around her property and share the history behind this incredible property. It felt very personalized and welcoming. Our rooms were immaculate, spacious and super comfortable. Pictures don’t due justice to the views all around us. The level of personal touches and care the owners showed to us during our stay was magnificent and top-notch. They worked around our schedule to accommodate us as the when breakfast worked best for our timeline (factoring in jet lag etc.). She even took our preferences as to whether we wanted tea or coffee and had everything ready. The food was homemade and delicious. She had fresh fruit hand picked form her property, homemade jam and pastries to name a few of the choices. It was minutes from a pretty amazing campground and the beach was perfect for swimming. The owners gave us firsthand knowledge and excellent recommendations as to where to sight see, eat, and helped us with recommendations on how to move on to our next destination (ex helping us figure out which trains to take, etc.). There is WiFi there too, which helps. My mom and I both adore this place as well as the owners. ***As a side note we happened to overlap with some other guests who were present ....1 of whom wrote a negative review about this place. My mom and I can tell you firsthand that review is nowhere near truthful as we ate breakfast the same day in the same kitchen and noticed none of what was said. This woman is just angry and bitter and happened to take it out wrongfully in these lovely people. We overheard the guest yelling and being very rude to the hosts, who impressively enough, handled the situation with grace and dignity. They are very professional in their business but also extremely accommodating and friendly. If you are looking for fantastic, peaceful views, a comfortable, clean and friendly place to be well taken care of, and appreciate the value of an excellent bargain, there’s no question but to stay here. Of all the places we stayed in Europe this was at the top of our list and I hope to return one day to stay here again next time. Lovely property and lovely owners. This bed and breakfast is a true hidden gem in my opinion. …

Ciao-wdy fellow Texans, What a wonderful review. Can't thank you enough. It was great talking to both of you and finding someone as enthusiastic about my corner of Tuscany as we are. Your nice review also helped take a little of the sting out of a negative review that I had received during the same time frame as when you were here. I also asked all my following B&B guests to give me their opinions of my jams, and thank goodness, they were all positive. I truly hope that you and your mother might make it back to Italy again someday. I would love to have you here at Boccadalma. Glad to hear you think this is a hidden gem, because sometimes I feel like we really are off the beaten path for most Americans who sometimes have trouble finding us. Grazie di cuore!

Lovely BnB where we have come back to several times now. All rooms are very clean, cozy and all have outside spaces you can enjoy both breakfast or just relaxing. View is gorgeous of the surrounding hills, horses and sea. Ellen, the host, is very nice and accommodating. I highly recommend the BnB for its location, cosines, host and things to do. Thank your Ellen - see you soon again...

We started coming to Maremma, Pian D’alma Area since February 2019. Having stayed at a number of different places, we became regulars of this beautiful B&B. First of all, it’s very comfortable, clean and cozy. Location is also great as it’s just in the national park, very close to the best beaches (walking distance), great routes for hiking and horse back riding. But, at the same time most beautiful villages and towns are all short distance away. Each time the owner made us feel at home, always available for assistance, yet so much privacy that it feels we live in our own house. Definitely recommended!

One of the best places I‘ve ever been to. Very nice beach not far away from the B&B (3 min with car but also easy to walk about 20-30 min) and many possibilties around to spend a good time like MTB trails, a horse ranch, sight seeing, good restaurants and many more. The accomodation is very clean and comfortable with a fantastic breakfast, a great view over the landscape and a lovely garden. For families it is great too. The hosts Ellen and Luciano do their very best to make your stay as good as possible. One big advantage is their cooperation with the Punta Ala Camping Resort next to the beach.

Tim, Thank you so much for your great review. It was so much fun having you here as our guests. Your enthusiasm for the area was contagious and I liked the idea of being able to present to you my favorite itineraries and places to eat. Not many people stay as long as you did and see so much of the surrounding area. Congratulations for having made the very best of your vacation. Hope very much to have you return another time. There is still lots to see and do. Auf wiedersehen, Ellen and Luciano

Highly recommend this B&B!! My boyfriend and I just stayed there. Room was perfect and comfortable, and breakfast was great. Ellen is so kind and helpful. She let us borrow bikes, told us what to see and where to eat. The beaches are beautiful and super close to the b&b. We loved our trip!!

Cathryn, Thanks so much for your nice review. It was great having fellow Americans stay with me. Glad you had a good stay (even if you did have to push the bikes), and hope to see you back again someday. There is still so much for you to see, and your time was too short! Ellen from B&B Boccadalma

We stayed in the Elba room for 2 nights at the end of May. The room was spacious , clean and very comfortable. Breakfasts of fresh fruit and pastry, cereal and yoghurt were tasty. The breakfast room is in the former barn which has been charmingly renovated. The cleverly repurposed manger holds magazines and pamphlets. We enjoyed having a glass of wine on the small table under a tree over looking the Tuscan hillside. There's a grill and picnic table on the other side of the house which other guests seemed to enjoy. Ellen is the perfect hostess: a source of great insider tips for restaurants and activities; never hovering but available when you needed her.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. Always enjoy chatting with the English speakers who are slowly discovering this part of Tuscany on the coast. The transformation from barn to B&B has been an ongoing project that I hope I never tire of. Meeting so many interesting people is definitely the best part of it. Hope to see you and your family again if you ever make it back. Wishing you the best for your big upcoming event.

Stayed 2 nights at this B&B in the Elba room and could not fault it what so ever. Breakfast was lovely with a great selection of local food to start the day. Location was great for touring around the local area and the added bonus of being able to park close to the beach with a pass to the campsite car park which avoided a long walk. Plenty of restaurants nearby serving good traditional italian food. Restaurant at the bottom the road was a favourite as food was good, reasonable price and friendly service. Ellen the owner could not do enough to help residents feel so welcome and at home, it was lovely to meet her and would defiantly recommend this property to all who wish to stay in the area. Great stay which went too quick. Hope the trip to Crete was amazing Ellen?
