Very friendly staff in the hotel. Restaurant was great and affordable as well. Room was nice and spacious, only real downside was the lack of airconditioning. I stayed in July, heat inside the room was almost unbearable. I had a room on the top floor, if you stay during summer make sure you get a room on the first floor...

We stopped here for one night whilst holidaying in the region, without pre-booking. The welcome was polite and friendly, and we were soon shown to our room. There was a decent amount of space for a double, and the en suite had a very good shower, no bath. No air con but in May not a problem, we opened the...

A typical mountain hotel but the owners have refurbished a lot of the rooms (I gather it's ongoing) so the one we had was great with a lovely bathroom and rainforest shower. Ask for a first floor room with a mountain view - you get a little balcony and beautiful view of the fields and mountains. Yes there were some...

The hotel is in a lovely location, the rooms clean and the Room we had, had an up to date bathroom which was nice. The bed had a plainly cheap foam mattress but I did remind myself this was a 2 star establishment The meal in the evening was very nice, breakfast was a bit sparse with cereal limited to...

We stayed here for one night a few days ago. While quite aware that the options in this part of France are limited, we weren't expecting such a brusque welcome. Arriving early we were told that the rooms were not available- full stop. No checking with the chambermaid, asking jf we wanted to leave our bags etc. When we returned...

Stayed one night after first day cycling across the Pyrenees. A beautiful location in a tiny village, food and views from restauraunt were to die for. Rooms were very nicely, recently, decorated. Were welcomed by charming proprietor and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Not just a cycling hotel, would be great for anyone who enjoys fine food and great views,

Four nights of gastronomic delight in a stunning setting: we consider ourselves more than a little fortunate to have fallen upon Hotel Etchemaite in the heart of the Pyrenees. Our perfectly adequate room with a good-sized bathroom provided all we needed for a peaceful night's sleep and the high standard of cuisine throughout our half-board stay ensured that we retired...

Lovely hotel in quiet mountain village. Beautiful rustic decor. Stayed on half-board basis and food was excellent. Roasted figs with almond cream and vanilla ice cream were mouth-watering. Superb breakfast too - fruit, squeeze-your-own orange juice, cakes, cheeses and meats, home-made preserves... the best in three weeks' holiday. Will definitely return, but perhaps pay for a larger room with balcony....

Nice clean rooms and garden shower head in shower was nice. It is close to GR if that is of interest. At times the staff (family) seem either overworked or overwhelmed and it affects the quality of the service--there were times that I felt I was just more work for them rather than the paying client. We stayed 2 nights...

We stayed there for one night in September 2011. It is a charming small hotel in the village of Larrau (Pyrénées-Atlantiques). We had a very nice small room. Quiet and clean. There is an excellent restaurant The owners were friendly and helpful. Parking space outside the hotel. Excellent value for money.
