We camped here for a week in July with our 2 boys, 8 and 10.

This is an excellent campsite with great facilities and amenities. We stayed in ‘Loop 1’ as we asked for a pitch with electric. These pitches in the trees are a good size and feel quite private. There is a camping field (with no electric) but it’s worth paying the extra for the electric pitches.

The shower block and toilets were a good size, and kept clean throughout our stay. There is a small shop on site which sold essentials (milk, rolls, pasta, etc) a play park and a cycle ‘pump’ track for kids (and big kids!)

The Speyside Way is directly beside the campsite and leads to Aviemore 4 miles and Kincraig 3 miles. The path is very accessible and could be walked or cycled (or even pushchairs would manage). Aviemore can be reached by car in less than 10 minutes.

There are several activities on site; quad bikes, archery and lots of lovely walks. There are also a number of other activities close by. Finally when we stayed (end of July) very few midgies!

Excellent park with good facilities, drainage on site is very good as displayed by the lack of ground water after days of heavy rain. New shower facilities available with a laundry room and dishwashing areas as well. Park for kids and a bmx trail. Shop and a rake away food truck on site. No bar or restaurant onsite if this is needed, however there are plenty of options around. Electric and water hookups on pitches.

Camped here for 4 nights in June. Asked to be put in a pitch next to the amenities as I was a solo traveller and they obliged.

Toilets/showers/kitchen area were all clean and the washing machine/dryer was spacious and reasonably priced (I think it was £4 for a wash)

Great location as well, just off the A9 and 5ish mins drive from Aviemore. Would happily return. 😊

Dalraddy is a beautiful site, with a mix of secluded, shaded or more open pitches. Our pitch T4 was a decent enough size for our 4 man tent, but we struggled to fit the side awning in. It was incredibly uneven and lumpy underfoot...our inflatable bed was running downhill, and we couldn't get a level area for a table and chairs. I kept tripping in potholes or over bumps in the ground. EHU and water was great to have though. The site was fully booked when we stayed 3rd week in July through the 'heatwave'. The amenities were ok...but left alot to be desired on the cleanliness front. There was no mop or squeegee in the ladies block to clean up after a shower; first site I've ever been to that didn't have this, don't know if it was because of Covid-19, but you had to time your visit carefully to get a clean shower: often the shower trays were blocked with hair, and in general the toilet/shower block was just a bit manky. It seemed to be cleaned once a day about 10am, but when the site is as busy as it was that week, it definitely needed to be done more often. There were a couple of nights when neighbouring campers were playing music or watching tv til almost midnight despite the cut off being 10pm. I messaged on the site FB page regarding it, and am yet to receive a reply. Staff were lovely and helpful, the shop reasonably well stocked and the food truck was magnificent...be prepared for queues - take a beer, order and wait for your food, well worth 20minutes waiting time. Also a chippy van on site a couple of times a week which was great too.

We travelled as 2 couples. When we arrived our friends had pitched their tent, the pitch we were given was about 5 minutes walk from our friends and tiny, we would not have got our tent on that pitch. The pitch was also full of stones and had hardly any grass. We were allocated another pitch near our friends, still hardly any grass and a lot of stones, I spent about 15 minutes clearing the stones only to find at least 10 once we had pitched up. I was worried about them piercing our tent its new and cost over a thousand pounds, luckily it seems OK.
It's a quiet site and each pitch has its own light, water tap and electric hook up which I liked. The toilets/showers and washing up facilities were about 5 minutes walk away, not great in the dark. The showers were tiny with nowhere to put anything except on the floor. All facilities were clean. There is a large toilet/shower block but you need to drive to it down by the caravans. Plenty of toilets but not many showers so had to wait. The children's play area again you needed to drive to and the shop. This site has all the best facilities by the caravans I wouldn't recommend for tents. We enjoyed our stay but wouldn't go back to this site it's the worst I've stayed on.

Booked a pitch for our touring caravan months in advance of our stay. We arrived slightly earlier than the 2pm check in time to ensure that we could get a good pitch, given that the weather forecast for our stay was not the best. Wife requested when we arrived to be allocated a pitch that would drain well and not be inundated with water when the heavy showers came, response was quite rude and was told “we’re busy and we’re not re-allocating pitches”. We were understanding of the comment and thought nothing of it until we arrived out our pitch, 104A, which had a steep earth embankment at the back and was barely big enough to fit our caravan with awning with no where close to park the car. Pitch was far too small for any caravan and very obvious that it would fill with water coming down the earth embankment at the rear. I then proceeded back to the reception to discuss the pitch and was also greeted with the sub standard customer service my wife experienced with no willingness to sympathise with us nor even attempt to re juggle pitches to accommodate us even though there were several empty pitches at the time, surely it’s not that difficult to swap A & B around?? We therefore requested a full refund due to the inability to offer us a suitable pitch but only received a partial with us loosing our deposit, which again was quite poor given it wasn’t our fault that we couldn’t be accommodated. We therefore upgraded ourselves to Grantown-on-Spey which is night and day compared with Dalraddy and the welcome received there was second to none.

Seems like the staff at Dalraddy could benefit from some customer management training as the site does look unique, but no point in the owners investing money in to the site if the staff don’t know how to treat customers. Got a long way to go to be at the same standard of customer service as most other sites in the area.

Visited at the end of July and was very pleased with the electric hook up tent pitch. Our pitch felt private and was nice and flat for the tent. Out 2 children loved roaming the woods and spotting the numerous red squirrels foraging around. The toilet/shower block in loop 3 was basic but clean. i have marked down to 4 stars only on how basic this toilet/shower block was. My daughter freaked out when the light switched off automatically during a night visit.
The Alvie forest foods van was excellent if a bit pricey and the shop on site was well stocked.

12th - 18th Sept 2020. 6 Nights, Touring Pitch, Hardstanding with hook up. We requested a quiet secluded pitch well in advance and also sent an email to Gillian (Assistant Manager) a couple of days before to remind. When we arrived we were allocated skinny pitch 470, squashed in between and old static caravan and a permanently pitched dirty old touring caravan and right opposite the main shower/toilet block. Honestly you really could not get any opposite to what we requested. Thank you Gillian , great customer service, I expect it was my reminding email to you that nailed the coffin to my original request! It was so obviously allocated deliberately with our request being ignored as when asked to be moved the we were told by a lady in reception with glasses to run around to two other pitches that might be available if we hurried as the other guest might be arriving. One was virtually next to the one we rejected and the other pitch 106 in a quieter wooded area. Why not allocate us pitch 106 in the first place if it was available? Thank heavens the gentleman working in reception was human and spoke to us with some sympathy. We opted for pitch 106 in a muddy wooded area of the park next to two metal ship shower block/toilet containers. The other pitch was 506 virtually next to the first one allocated so no point taking that one. The pitch 106 itself was twice as large as the first one part grass/mud and park hardstanding with hook up and a water tap.

Given the global pandemic situation this was a last minute, trial run of a camping trip (our first as a family). 2 nights, 5 hours away, booking the first campsite that had space.

If you’re reading this cos you’re not sure about booking, just book it - this place is great. The toilet/washing facilities are clean and the shop is good (it’s the retail outlet for the ‘estate’ - so they shoot stuff and sell it in the shop!). Aviemore is also only 10 mins away in the car in case you need anything they don’t have.

We had a pitch in camping loop 2. Each pitch is surrounded on three sides by trees and ours was comfortably big enough for our 6 man tent and decent side car. We had birds and red squirrels on our pitch in the two nights we were there, and I’m convinced there were deer wondering the site given the tracks in the mud. The kids loved the play area and exploring the trees.

If you do stay here make sure you walk up the trail to the Waterloo and Duke of Gordon monuments. It’s only a mile or so up a small hill from the entrance of the park and the views from the top are amazing (I had a OS map but I’m sure the people in reception could point you in the right direction). Obviously you aren’t short of walks/views in this area but if you have kids this is ideal.

All in all a great (but too short) trip to the Cairngorms. Looking forward to going back.

This is a wee gem in the Highlands, we stayed for 4 nights on a non electric pitch. Ground is quite hard but the pitch is flat, the area is really well lit and the amenities on site are all really clean. I wish there were a few more toilet/shower blocks as there were often queues in the morning, but otherwise can't fault this campsite. Will definitely return for another trip.
