I stayed in Room 1 for two nights. The bed was comfortable but the reading light above the bed was much too dim. Although near the street there was little street noise but I could easily hear voices coming from other rooms. The ensuite bathroom was small, with a toilet and shower. I managed to take a shower OK although...

I was in Redhill for a friend's birthday and decided to stay here, as the Travelodge was fully booked. As it was £20 cheaper, I booked the single bedded room. I was told prior to booking that there was no en-suite, and that the adjoining bathroom did not have a shower. This was not a huge issue for me, although...

Thank you for choosing us and I'm glad to hear we are cheaper than the Travelodge! I would imagine a plethora of TA readers would take offence at the association of the adjectives 'dated' and 'tired'. For the record we are dated yes, and it is this selling point that people rave about! There will always be, however, the elite...

We're on the London to Paris cycle route. After a leisurely ride out of London, stopping for excellent coffee and cake at La Baita cafe on Clapham Common we arrived at Redhill. The Brompton Guest House is almost on the route, has somewhere safe for the bikes and there is an excellent foody pub, The Home Cottage, just round the...

What more indeed! La Baita is indeed an excellent lunch spot and The Home Cottage is equally superb for food! Where did you go next on your adventure? :0)

I booked to stay here for my husbands birthday, we were going to London for a concert and my sister was looking after our young baby for the night and lives nearby so we were close 'just in case'. I emailed Rosemary and Guy who were lovely, I explained that my baby was going to be at my sisters and...

Thank you! Brompton is the perfect place for visits to London theaterland. Not only is it generally more reasonably priced than the London hotels, it adds another aspect to the experience travelling to this leafy retreat! Do come again!

Difficult to review a guest house or any type of accommodation when you can't gain access to it!! This was despite having received an email confirmation of my booking. We arrived at 4.40pm on 18 June having previously emailed ahead (out of courtesy) that we would be checking in between 4.30 and 5pm. No response from ringing the doorbell (we...

Gill and I, and our two dogs, Patch sadly blind and Sophie, were welcomed by Guy and Rosemary and Sidney their adorable black Lab. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly Breakfast was excellent, but perhaps could be a tad later since we really wanted to have a lie in and not have to rush to get up for 7.30am. The...

Aww :0) - yes we like to think of ourselves as a 'friendly dog-friendly' house- blind or not! Our award-winning complimentary breakfast is served between 7.30 - 8.15 on weekdays and 9 - 9.15 at weekends. Outside of these times we are happy to provide a continental-style breakfast, at no extra cost! We understand that our patrons are varied here...

We were welcomed by Guy and Rosemary and the atmosphere was welcoming. It reminded me of places I stayed in my childhood and of an England that no longer exists. I was travelling with two teenage daughters who are extremely fussy. They enjoyed their stay very much and loved meeting Sidney the resident dog. The room and breakfast were fine...

Thank you for your review! This England exists here in the Surrey Hills - for the time-being at least! ;0) The analysis of this review is, however, self-recursive and frustrating for us here at Brompton: if we compromised our architecture and installed a turbo-shower we would certainly begin veering away from this beautifully described England! Teenage daughters- fussy? ;0)

Friendly owners and staff (and dog :)) Nice breakfast, the home made seeded toasts were delicious. Nice breakfast room. Very close to the station which is convenient. Very calm and nice street. Nice room, clean. We would definitely choose to stay in this B&B if we visit Redhill again!

Thank you for the review! I believe we upgraded you to a larger room on that date, at no extra cost, and would have certainly adjoined our zip-and-link single beds to form a Super king size for you had it been mentioned at the time! Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Brompton is a classic Edwardian house, set on a quiet road on a small hill, that has just been refurbished in keeping with the age. We are situated in the Surrey Hills area of the green belt surrounded by countryside, but still close to London, and only three minutes walk from Redhill railway station. We are very close to the town centre that offers the Belfry shopping center, the famous Harlequin Theatre/Cinema and the Donyngs Recreational Facility (Better). ... more   less
