Treat yourself to an exquisite visit at this well-managed hotel, Located just a short walk from the cable car to the ski area or into the services of the town. There are so many things that are way above average at this hotel. One is the food, truly gourmet dining. Another is the attention to detail. Although not having many English-speaking guests, all information was made available in English, which included a daily Report of available activities, weather, etc. This hotel provides a truly luxurious feel at an extremely affordable price.
To add another glowing review seems a little superfluous really, only to confirm that the Ritterhof really in a very special place. There are many hotels and B&Bs (Garnis) in the Castelrotto/Siusi area and you expect that they'd all really have to try very hard to distinguish themselves. In this respect the Oberhofer family with their superb Ritterhof have not just succeeded, but exceeded. Firstly Location - although by the main road, which is busy by day, does become quiet at night and the hotel itself is a short way from the main village of Suisi, easily walkable in five minutes. It is also next to the cable car station, with a few minutes walk (so while not ski-in as such, its easily walkable). This makes it very accessible with easy access to Castelrotto or down the hill to Bolzano. Public areas - really very beautiful. The decoration of the seating areas, several very comfortable and cosy lounge and dining areas, including a basement dining/bar (more anon) and the breakfast/lunch area - all very beautifully decorated with classical Tyrolean motifs and plenty of pine with pretty furniture, not at all kitsch, given that the hotel is modern. There is a lovely outside terrace under cover, which is great for an evening pre/post dinner drink and sometimes food is served outside. But it is also decorated very classily with lots of candles, comfy seats, furs and blankets. Eating - a major strong point - but be warned - take a VERY hearty appetite! Don't be fooled by the large buffets with a variety of salads, meats and appetizers - dinner swiftly follows! Each night seems to have a kind on theme - one night was pasta galore - preceding dinner, the next it was a 'Strudel fest' with a variety of strudels being served on the terrace after dinner - all lovely, if you had the space. Then it was a huge buffet in the cellar restaurant, with food just never ending - and what food. Mr Oberhofer senior is a skilled chef, but keeps the food simple and very appetizing. There is also a good local wine list, with wines by the bottle, carafe and glass, with some recommended wines each night Breakfasts are typically large, varied and good quality, with good coffee, served in the breakfast lounge area, You can enjoy a variety of good breads, meats, cheese, pastries and cooked food - all very good. However - The is the icing on the cake (literally) - each afternoon, in the breakfast room, they serve a variety of cakes from the buffet, strudel, soup and so on from mid afternoon onwards - this is in the price and you can order very good coffee or drinks. Tiramisu - an often much abused desert, is delicious here. Accommodation - all the rooms appeared good and smart, they're spotlessly clean, well equipped and all appear to have terraces of varying sizes, one suite's terrace was vast with outside seating and sun loungers. Large comfy beds, good linen etc. and everything working well. Again, all done in a tasteful modern Tyrolean style. But it is the staff and the Oberhofer family (the owners) that make the Ritterhof so special. Everyone seems to do what they do so well because they want to and they make the experience so special with their friendliness, attention to detail, good taste and helpful service as well as the way they have developed and created the whole hotel and experience. This really is a truly special place and a special experience.…
For the second year in succession our holiday and stay at the Ritterhof was magic providing service beyond expectations, gourmet meals and magnificent vines along with a personal and friendly atmosphere. A sincere thanks to Lea and the remaining Oberhofer family and staff for making our dream resort becoming a reality. Livar, Norway
It's our second stay at the this wonderful, boutique, family run hotel. Very friendly, excellent service, fantastic inclusive food--breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner and very comfortable rooms with good wi-fi. Just a few minutes from the cable-car to the Alpe di Siusi plateau--which is a great bonus if you are into walking, cycling, skiing.
I stayed in Ritterhof two nights. The hotel had really nice and warm atmosphere. The staff was friendly and I felt myself more than welcome. Food was also delicious. I can warmly recommend hotel Ritterhof.
