Kunene River Lodge is an exceptional destination situated in remote north-west Namibia, overlooking Angola on the opposite river-bank. The Lodge boasts luxury accommodation, rustic chalets and riverside camp-sites, and offers a range of activities including white-water rafting, birding, sundowner and early morning birding cruises, hiking, fishing, challenging 4x4 routes or simply relaxing in the tranquil shaded surroundings of the Lodge itself. Established in 1997, Kunene River Lodge has earnt itself an enviable reputation as the foremost Namibian White-Water Rafting Centre. KRL is a Birding Hotspot with several endemics, most notable is the Angolan Cave Chat located late in 2012 in the Zebra mountains 40kms away.Kunene River Lodge is proud to work closely with the Kunene Conservancy in developing and promoting this precious area of Namibia.

I had long wanted to go to Epupa Falls. Kunene River Lodge looked like the best option for our group of 8 for two nights.They have the best position, restaurant balcony overlooking the falls, sunrise rainbows in the waterfall mist. Staff were all helpful. We did three short tours with one of their guides, Kamburu. Highly recommended. Two of us had a full body massage. After too much sitting in vehicles, this was just what we needed. Meals were good. I enjoyed going to sleep to the sound of the waterfall. I'd happily go back.

Beautiful, well kept camp site, the sites are all on the river front, location is beautiful. Ablutions are clean and easily accessible. If you are a bird lover this is the place! I can recommend the sunset cruise, stunning nothing beats an African sunset on the Kunene River. Restaurant was limited from a meal perspective, however full braai facilities at camp site, with running water and electricity.

We all loved this campsite on the banks of the Kunene River. Great location, excellent facilities and well maintained. Even a swimming pool and bar! Have recommended to family travelling to this region in the coming months.

The campsites are very spacious and have amazing views of the kunene river. The fact that it was on grass was a big plus for us. The bathrooms are very neat with hot water and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend doing the sunset boat cruise which was one of the highlights of our trip!

The potential of this Lodge was somewhat a disappointment. We expected so much more especially in the line of birding and /or a birding cruise. The staff were by and large rather unwilling to help out with some other accommodation issues whereby we needed a phone number etc. The campsite was fine and we enjoyed some days relaxing. The kitchen/restaurant is basically not functioning. It was the only place where we had to PAY for wifi. Hopefully the new owners will take the time to improve this lodge.

A oasis in the desert, the campsites are right on the river and offer lots of shade. Ablutions were clean and worked well. The birdlife in the campsites was very good and like minded campers made our stay wonderful

Camping at Kunene River Lodge is fantastic. The road between Epupa and Ruacana is very rough but passable in a high rise vehicle. The camping is basic but the bathroom facilities are clean and the showers are hot. Each site has power and barbecue facilities. The pool is cool and has loungers. The site is on the bank of the Kunene. Birders would love this spot. The sundowner cruise was great and the host, Dube, was very knowledgeable.

We were three couples that camped. Facilities were very good and will be visited again. The only negative experience was being charged N$60 pp corkage for bringing our own wine to dinner.. We were told that corkage would be charged, but found the amount to be exorbitant. Otherwise, great place
