This was our 4th time at Le Logis on our travels between Spain and Belgium. We simply love it. The sitting room is very cozy and the perfect place for a pre-dinner drink The rooms are lovely, comfy and very individual. The dinner served by the friendliest of staff is amazing, super chef Alain always surprises us with the most original plates of food. Thank you Alain and Joelle!

We had a disaster with another Logis hotel up the road and called ahead for an emergency booking. The hostess and owner sorted us out 2 rooms at very short notice. We were shown a few rooms on offer and given advice on which would best suit our needs, she was very welcoming and spoke English beautifully. My Wife, daughter (3) and I shared a room for 3 which was palatial, antique meets modern and ok the modern is a little 90's but it was still done with aplomb. Drinks were served in the bar that doubled as an antique shop but not a drop of selling just a discreet price tag or two and no mention from our impeccable hostess. We opted for the 33 euro menu for dinner and my mother-in-law was feeling poorly so her dinner was fish and rice, no fuss, they just get on with it.

Dinner was fantastic, the hostesses husband runs the kitchen, I can't imagine how she stays slim. The food was to die for. In this small backwater hotel was what you always hear about when people tell stories of France but seldom experience first hand. Wonderful Amuse Boushe, fresh mini baguettes made on site. Two very technical starters and classic mains and puds. this place is where real classic cooking happens. Service is very attentive without being intrusive, the two serving staff were running around like a symphony given the covers and the service they provided it was amazing. the Hostess came and crumbed down with an antique table sweeper before bringing pudding, coffee and petit fours. The dinnerware was first class, the glassware some of the best of offer.

This is a real team hotel with the same attention paid to breakfast, mini homemade croissants and pain au chocolat, homemade jams etc etc. Really really good. So glad the other place was a disaster. If we are ever in the region again then we WILL stop here. First Class

Very impressed with this restaurant and the quality of the food and service. We had the three course set lunch for 22 Euro and every course was gorgeous with quality ingredients cooked to perfection. Lovely choice of wines by the glass, bottle and half bottle. Civilised interior with good space between tables.

Over priced, chi chi restaurant,,dull room, hard mattress,no welcome,no offer of help with luggage although I was using a walking stick! would only use if you were desperate.
Our usual stop in this area had a problem and cancelled so this was a last minute replacement.

The Good News - La patronne makes great efforts to please and speaks English; the other staff are pleasant; the wine list is good. On the other hand . . . Brionne is a decent little town but not chic or classy. The hotel is on a busy roundabout used by trucks, among all other traffic, from daybreak; rooms facing the road can be noisy. Being charged 90 euros for an ordinary room that would cost 60 in similar places was exorbitant. The Michelin Guide stickers on the front door are no guarantee of a consistent standard. The "cheap" menu is 29 euros, the only others are 55-62 euros, a single main course is 35. The disappointments - a lobster assemblage in which the crustacean was overcooked (twice cooked?), tough and tasteless: rolls more carapaced than crusty: a pig's trotter converted into an egg-free Scotch egg: a vegetable melange containing a baby turnip which had barely time in the pot to get warm, never mind al dente. Some of the food was tasty, none of it worth what was charged. The Logis is much used by commercial travellers who get a better deal than the hapless tourist.

Brionne is not a destination, as it is a small village (pop: slightly over 4,000) without any special attractions around. But, if you have to stay overnight in Basse-Normandie (for example, for a wedding - there are many châteaux around that rent out for such events), this auberge is a very good place. Rooms are basic with dated décor, but they are clean and comfortable, with sufficient amenities (kettle, etc). There’s no fans, so it could be stuffy in the summer. The dynamic owner, Mme Depoix, is a most charming hostess, and speaks perfect English. The restaurant is highly commended by critics. We didn’t have the opportunity to have a meal there, but breakfast is very good, with fresh bread and excellent local products (cheeses, jams, etc).

M 68 and J 70 stayed 1 night on 16th Feb.
Eating here is definitely a gastronomic experience for both the stomach and the wallet. Excellent food and service but on the pricey side. Wines start from 30€.
As usual we felt that the breakfast, although adequate in terms of choice and quantity did not justify the price tag. The previous morning in England we were offered the buffet choice and a full cooked English breakfast for less money. Food costs are about equal in both countries so something is not right!
Our room was spacious with 2 comfortable chairs and some interesting period furniture, including the beds which were very comfortable. The bedding, although spotless, was showing signs of age, with the whiteness fading to a cream colour. The towels, of which there appeared to be only two, had definitely passed their sell by date and needed replacing.
The hotel is situated just outside the town centre on a roundabout but is very quiet.

First impressions: the Logis de Brionne is situated by a roundabout on the edge of a small town. The car park is very small and, unless one arrives early, it is difficult to park. Madame spoke very good English and was polite and helpful. We booked with Booking.com where rooms were described as having a bath or shower. We had asked for a bath and, on arrival, were told that there would be an extra charge.
The room was spacious but dated and the bed was comfortable. The wifi was awkward to use, needing questionnaires to be filled in each time one wanted to use it.
The dinner menu had three price ranges, the least expensive was 38 euros for 3 courses. There were 2 or 3 choices per menu. The amuse bouche was lovely but all went downhill from there. Presentation was good but, in my opinion, the flavour was not a fine dining experience. The starter of poached eggs and strips of bacon in a wine sauce was unpleasant. The steak, cooked for three hours as stated on the menu, was bland and dry and the duck breast, also cooked for three hours as stated, was just seared on the outside and mostly raw. The duck took its revenge at 5.45am! We have eaten in many restaurants in France and one can have a delicious meal for half the price.

This text has already been published on booking.com website here is my answer again... What can I answer to this ....when we look at other comments ? The only point again is that I would have preferred to be told all this instead of reading it on booking.com website. What can I do now ...Obviously this guest didn't appreciate our way of cooking ...our wine list...(we also have wine at 25 €...!)...we have a lot of business men who work with our wifi system....

Logis seem to have lost their way but this Hotel is a first class example of everything that was good about the logis experience. The reception on arrival was welcoming. Our bedroom comprised of two large single beds, modern and comfortable. The eating experience is wonderful, though the wine list is less so.
Parking is at a premium so best getting there early if this is important to you.

We stayed at this hotel for one night recently on our way south and had one of the best meals we have eaten in France. The hotel is a pleasant family run establishment, clean, tidy and comfortable with very good facilities (especially the Wi-Fi) and a lot of English spoken which helps those of us who are not fluent in French.

The best part of the stay was the meal. It was light, full of flavour, lots of fresh herbs and there was a good, local, wine list to go with it. The chef has a very good touch and the presentation was of a high quality. Up to the best of many restaurants in London.

We will certainly return !!
