Sol Phu Quoc receives high marks for its cleanliness, with guests frequently applauding its immaculate facilities and rooms. The serene atmosphere adds to the hotel's charm, although the decor is sometimes seen as lacking personality. Spacious rooms with ocean views are a hit among many travelers, who also appreciate the attentive service, despite occasional language challenges. The hotel's amenities, including diverse dining options, a luxurious spa, and pristine pool areas are standout features. Additionally, the hotel's location is central, offering great value and easy access to local sights.

Hotel's Favourite

I have enjoyed my stay here, the hotel itself has a nice location, which is near the airport, and you can have a stunning view of the sunset.

Room is spacious, and the view from my room is facing the sea which is lovely, housekeepers are helpful, even thought they don't speak much English, but they did try their best to deleiver the service.

Breakfast has many options, the Vietnamese food they serve is delicious and fresh, and they do have some Spanish specialities as well ( tortilla and gazpacho). The only concern is some staff's capability of English, they are friendly and nice, and always willing to help. But sometimes it is a bit hard to communicate to get what you need, but with a translate app which can easily solve it.

Concierge crews are warm-hearted, and extremely patient with my questions and requests, I am grateful to have them during my stay.

The front office team made my stay pleasant, from the moment I checked in, I felt very welcomed, They are all very helpful and always go an extra mile. One of the supervisors even helped me to top up my Viet SIM card with his phone, which is not really part of his job. But I do sincerely appreciate his help. Will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

A friend went to Phu Quoc and stayed there, and she also enjoyed her stay.

Shout out to all crew members, you guys have done a good job and I will stay in Sol again for sure.

After reading a few reviews prior to our visit we were a little apprehensive we had booked the right place but I can’t believe the negative and critical comments for such a great resort.

The resort is absolutely beautiful, very lush and green with a huge and lovely pool near the beach. We never had a problem getting a pool side or beach side bed. Yes people go down in the morning to save beds but there are so many by the pool and on the beach without looking too crowded! The no pool service is not a problem, it’s very easy to visit on of the bars. Service is a little slow but everywhere in Vietnam is the same, the staff are just very casual it was never a problem.

Our room was upgraded on arrival and was really
large and extremely clean. Room was serviced daily with a switch on of the room clean light just inside the door.

Breakfast had so many options, at times some food was a little cold but if you just hang out for a minute to grab the egg or crepe straight off the pan the food is hot.

Fresh pool towels can be collected with a towel card with the card returned when the towels were returned - you can see why they need this system as it is such a large resort and it stops people from just leaving the towels around. This is done by the pool or a one minute walk from the. beach. They were happy to swap the towels multiple times during the day for dry ones.

The beach is a little murky but there isn’t super crystal clear water anywhere on Phu Quoc. We still swam everyday in the beach and even did laps up and down the netted area (roughly 150m). This side of the island isn’t too windy compared to the other side

Gym was small but good, daily yoga, stretching classes and volleyball was fantastic.

Between resorts and nice beaches, there is so much rubbish and abandoned shop fronts - very sad.

We never actually ate at the restaurants as we had a scooter and travelled about 10mins towards Duong Dong to eat Vietnamese food everyday but had really delicious cocktails by the pool. The resort let us park our scooter in a secure area near the entrance.

We, a couple in our 40’s have had a amazing experience at the resort. We stayed a week.

We choose “all inclusive” that we highly recommend since one can eat and drink choosing among all the restaurants and facilities at the resort.

We travel quite a lot around the world and have visited many hotels and resorts but this one really sticks out in a positive way.

The resort is located close to the airport where we got picked up smooth and quickly by the resort‘s shuttle bus.

Our first impression of the lobby is that it’s beautiful and the front desk was great. (Even though the Hotell was up to 100% capacity) we felled so welcome. The check in was so quick and all the staff, particularly Lance welcomed us not only with a smile but with cold drinks.

The room was beautiful with tasteful decoration, spacious with a comfortable king size bed, a huge balcony a tremendous view over the green garden, pool space and the ocean.
Not to mention the the room was spotless.

The breakfast at the diner with a very high standard. Both European and Asian breakfast was offered in a buffet, nothing was missing.

The breakfast at the Shack serves all kind of delicious treats.

For lunch one could choose between a big and delicious buffet at the diner restaurant or Ola, where the kitchen was more Exclusive. We preferred the lunch at Ola in more than one ocassion with a great view to the ocean and the very service minded staff.

The drinks and cocktails had all a high standard and at the pool bar An, was always very service minded and in a good mood. To hang at the pool bar was so nice, good music and great atmosphere.

Activities, the resort offers yoga in the morning, water aerobics, volleyball and they even have a kids club. At the evening at Ola, live music was played.

The lunch and dinner, once again nice again nothing was missing. A luxury to have a paella at Ola or a burger at the Shack if one didn’t feel for a complete buffet at the restaurant. My husband is Spanish and surprisingly so is the chef, Arnau. He has really put a Spanish touch with high standard on the dishes.

We also came in contact with the director of the hotel, Mr Alvaro Breton who made us welcome and was curious about our impression, all to be able to improve the standards.

We are overwhelmed over all the staff, who are always smiling and wanting the best for there guests.

A special recognition to the hotel directors Mr. Alvaro Berton and Mr. Antonio Montes with whom we had the pleasure of interacting always showing great interest in our well being as well of that of all other guests, along with the rest of the wonderful staff at the restaurant, the shack an of course An at the pool bar.

We will highly recommend this resort to everyone and all nationalities.
If you want to relax, have wonderful vacation with a great experience, come and visit Sol Beach House Phu Quoc
You won’t be disappointed!

Best regards,
Linda Elster and Vladimir Ricardo Restrepo

15 mins from airport, quick check in but be warned you need Credit card as you have to leave deposit which is returned when you leave, flights from UK you do not get your room until 2pm...we arrived at hotel 8am
Staff very polite and helpful, While hotel needs a good maintenance team in as whole place needs looking at only minor things but all add up.
Rooms are spacious and cleanish, not sure what room cleaner does except makes bed and puts clean towels in as we've had a glass on side for 4 days and it was just left so we put it on landing and its still there!!!!!! Friends who we are with took a coffee to there room (which you are not allowed too unless you pay extra more later) the coffee cup left the brown circle on table which is still there after 5 days.
On taking night cap, drink to your room this is not allowed as they stop you or refuse to serve you unless you buy a drinks package for your room!!!!
As for food it's ok you could have some thing different each night, we are having one night in hotel followed by night out in town as there's a lot more choice and its really good price in the town. food generally in Buffett could be a lot hotter as generally it's all luke warm.
I agree with other comment on here regarding pool, getting a drink most of the time is very time consuming, swim up bar only has one bar person who have to serve, then ask for a signature which is not required we have been here for 9 days so far and never seen a que at bar as it takes too long and people get drinks from other areas. Sun beds have seen better days.
Taxis are cheap into town for 4 people £3:50
Six of us got a taxi to cable car which cost us £10 each way so split 6ways which was nothing. Entrance to cable car ride is £10 each and if you want water park at end of cable car journey is £7:00 and good value for money.
Overall we are enjoying our holiday, we do compare holidays with previous holidays in last couple of years (Jamaica, mexico, cap Verde etc) and generally our thoughts on what our school teachers used to say "could do better"

Stayed here for two weeks with TUI over the Christmas period. Check in was a bit of hassle we all got headed into a room and it was a bit of a free for all as to who got served first. Arriving at 9.00 am the rooms were not ready till 2.00 pm.
The rooms were very nice and spacious with a good sea view and lovely sunset.
There were 3 eating areas and we found the food to be good in all 3. Ola beach was great for lunch , the Kitchen had a good selection both at breakfast and evening meal. The beach shack was good for a quick meal if you got in late from a trip or you wanted a late lunch.
The bars were quite slow with the service especially in the reception and pool bar. This could be helped by having more then one member of staff on them. The all inclusive drinks menu was quite limited which was a bit of a shame and at times you were only allowed to order one drink so if your partner or kids wanted a drink they would have to go to the bar with you.
The pool area was very nice the only downside was that it was very difficult to get a sun bed after 8.00 am and quite often beds were reserved but not used.
The Spa treatments were very good and very reasonably priced.
The management made a big effort for Christmas and New Year’s Eve which was great.
The management were very visible and keen to know what could be improved.
The hotel is located a short taxi ride from the main town and night market and only costs less than £5.00

This Hotel could be really good, with some improvements and organisation.
The worst is the food in the main buffet Restaurant the food is really bad, quite simply everything is cold or luke warm, even the food that is over cooked is cold, I feel sorry for the excellent staff who have to deal with the complaining customers, with no obvious Management back up. Some people on all-inclusive gave up and started going out to eat
Housekeeping could also be improved with cobwebs in the lobby, glasses left on the landings for days, litter left around the sunbeds by the pool to mention a few things, the whole place could do with some maintenance. The sunbeds have seen better days the fabric has stretched so you are sitting on cross bars and there aren’t enough to swap them about.
Even though you could be on all-inclusive and you are wearing a wrist band you have to sign for everything from food in the restaurant to getting a drink, this can be time consuming when other people are waiting to be served as normally there is only one person on the bar preparing the drinks and getting the signatures
There is not much entertainment especially in the evening, and no comfortable seating for social chatting, they could really do with some tables in the lobby bar for people to play games or cards, at the moment all they have are round seating benches where you would sit with your back to the other people in your party.
The one good point is the staff they all try their best to make your stay the best it can be, special praise to Khu’ong on the pool bar and Ngan in the Buffet Restaurant who always greeted you with a welcoming smile and excellent Customer service, they are a credit to the Hotel.

Like this property being secluded enough with private beach. Room was in good condition but at some time of the day, there are loud water flowing in the piping i supposed and some foul odor will fill the entire washroom.
This place is very crowded and the swimming pools + the beach is always filled with guests and lounge chairs aint not enough. I didn't had any chance at all lounging by the pool.
Probably is a peak month visiting Phu Quoc, hence the crowds.
Since the resort is further to town and I expected to eat most time in the resort. Unfortunately choices are not plenty from the 4 restaurants they have in the property. Local food is hardly available in the menu besides they serve some noodle and banh mi during breakfast.
Anyway, can use their shuttle to the night market to explore some local dishes which is quite convenient but need to book 1 day in advance.
There's 1 morning at the breakfast place, i requested a waiter for a spoon. He looked at me with his unfriendly expression (only 1 unfriendly staff i faced at least)
He brushed me off by saying in quite a fluent english "i dont speak english" 🙄.
Other than all the mentioned, i had some good time.

Went all inclusive which I would recommend. Quiet rooms. Comfortable large bed. Great shower with glass walls so you can see the sea whilst taking a shower! Food excellent. Choice of Buffett in The Kitchen with lots of choice, the Shack does a very good Pad Thai which can vary. Sometimes 90% bean shoots, sometimes good with 90% noodles. Shrimps and very good squid. Sometimes spicy but sometimes bland. Ola Beach club also an option which is part of the AI for lunch. Excellent infinity pool which appears clean at first but we noticed green slime on walls under the swim up bar. Swim up bar service can be slow when busy as only one server and they serve several people at once and sometimes forget your order unless it is a beer which is easily served by a can. Usual problem getting a sunbed unless you want to get up at 6.30. Was told we could ask pool staff to get extra beds out but all they did was shrug when asked. Lovely reception. Very clean. Rooms appeared clean at first until you pulled out sofa to see it hadn't been cleaned under or behind for some time. Staff were very friendly and grounds pretty and well kept. Manager made a point of talking to us and remembering our faces. He also "mucked in" which is nice to see. Lots of seating in reception and good shop inside. Nothing is within walking distance but taxis are cheap and outside at about 40p per km. Good clean beach with "fenced off" swim area. Didn't go in the sea as the pool was so good with a shallow area for kids and huts by pool with mattresses although these were always taken. We are not ones for laying in the sun all day so lack of sun beds was not a great issue for us. We're told that due to a nearby music festival they were allowing day guests which caused a lot of problems with enough sunbeds. Feel that they should have given the All Inclusive customers priority. Maybe give you a numbered sunbed allocated to you which is yours for the duration and you could choose it to be sea or pool? This was my only main grumble. Otherwise an excellent hotel

I first stayed in Sol in 2017 and it left me a great impression so this time I’d look forward to another wonderful stay with my family BUT things went unexpectedly with the poor aircon system and poor room water drainage. I doubt if the management cares about efficient hotel maintenance to leave guests wanting to come back more than once. What really bugged me on this stay was how they organized the breakfast session. Was told by the restaurant staff that since there weren’t many guests staying in this post-Covid-19 pandemic so there wouldn’t be buffet breakfast, instead they would organize à la carte. And what happened the next morning was a HUGE crowd of guests waiting for the breakfast to served at their table, but I bet all were annoyed by the mess caused by not having a buffet on hand. This is such the worst impressive on breakfast service I’ve ever received, not because of the delayed service but the management here. They have the info of hotel occupancy but still didn’t organize proper buffet breakfast. I’d TRULY appreciate the effort of all restaurant staff trying to please the guests and serve us, the average star rating here all go for them. However, this is the second aka LAST time I’d stay here.

I stayed at Sol By Melia in December 2020. The resort itself is very close to the airport. The resort also provides free shuttle service to and from the airport at selected times. The room itself was very spacious and modern. The bathroom, however, was without a door (not a fan). Barring the bathroom, the room was great. The balcony was large and the location of the property is excellent. You can rent bikes nearby for as cheap as $8-10 per day. The property is a good 10 kms away from the city center. But there's a market right outside the property, if you want to buy some snacks or beverages.

The only downside to the resort was the food. There's a Spanish restaurant, but the food wasn't great. The breakfast buffet had a wide spread but the food was the same on all 3 days. There was nothing new to look forward to.

The pool is fantastic and perfect to laze around. There's a nice pool bar, as well.

Overall, I recommend this property.

Positives - Great room and location
Negatives - The bathroom and quality of food.

We paid the equivalent of $100 USD per night for swim up. TOTALLY worth it!! Huge room, patio and rhe convenience of lounging in your private area of pool. The private pool is deep enough to sit down and be submerged to shoulders. Private with hedges. I recommend Building 1 for sun.
