Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Laburnum Lodge is in a great location for golf holidays. We received a warm welcome on arrival from Anne the owner. Our room was excellent, spacious and had everything we needed. We stayed 2 nights the breakfasts were superb and well presented. I would highly recommend Laburnum Lodge and would definitely book it again if we return to Tullow.

My husband and I stayed here recently while attending a wedding nearby. The lodge and gardens are beautiful and we wished we could have extended our stay to spend a bit more time there. I especially enjoyed the cooked breakfast which is always the way to my heart! When we're visiting the area again we'd love to come back with the children. Thanks again.

Like all guests staying at this bed and breakfast on the night I stayed, I was attending a wedding at the nearby Mount Wolseley Hotel.
The guesthouse is beautiful, room very modern and well furnished.
However
On check in I was told that breakfast the next morning (Saturday) finished at 9:30 am. I actually thought they were joking.
After 4 hours sleep I made it downstairs for the breakfast the next morning. I had a shower afterwards (10am) and was interrupted by the owner looking for payment and reminding me that check out was 11. She actually wanted us to be out before 11 because she told us she had a hair appointment at 11!
As I said in my title, I might as well have slept in the car. I would imagine most of the guests who stay in this guesthouse are attending weddings in Mount Wolseley. Many will get caught like me in this quick buck scheme going on here- get them in, get them to pay up, get them out quick

Dear Calling_Abhaile, Thank you for your kind comments regarding the property. In regards to your developmental points, I would like to offer the following by way of response. Check out time is 11.00 am. On the morning in question I had an appointment so made the request that guests be ready to leave by the check out time. I myself was going to a wedding, hence the hair appointment. In hindsight I failed to explain this you to. I apologise for this. Breakfast does end normally at 10.00. As you can see from all other reviews, I run a very successful guest house and pride myself on delivering an excellent service for all my guests. Should you ever be back in Tullow I would love the opportunity to demonstrate this to you. Best regards, Anne

Very disappointed with the breakfast. The full breakfast was served to us without asking what we wanted. No choice as website suggested. Very cheap produce used I found. Bacon crisp but very hard like shoe leather. I like a previous commenter felt rushed into arriving because owner was going out. Told when to come down and have breakfast so everyone was done and dusted and farmed out. On the plus side room was very comfortable and clean. Won't be back if attending another function in the area.

Second time staying in Laburnum B&B. still as good. Great rooms and even better breakfast. Really it's the little touches that make the difference like the shampoo and soaps in the en suite, much better than most hotels. Ate in local restaurant by the river and was also very good

My mother and I stayed here to do the Carlow Garden Trail. An excellent location for this. Anne was really helpful with information about the trail and we particularly enjoyed chatting to her about her own garden. The guest house is tremendous value for money - spotlessly clean, comfortable, quiet, a lovely breakfast and a very welcome cup of tea and home baked scones when you arrive. Would definitely stay here again.

Myself and my husband stayed here in mid April along with another couple of our friends. We had a great stay. The rooms were spacious and beautifully kept. The owner could not do enough for us. She was very friendly, professional and very helpful regarding taxi's, train times as we were over from London.
A brilliant place to stay, will use it again next time we are there

My mother, sister and I stayed here in July. Of all the B and B's we stayed in this was by far the nicest. Anne is a wonderfully gracious hostess. Our room was very tastefully decorated and comfortable. Anne was very helpful in recommending places to eat, sights to see. Look forward to going back someday! Denise Burkhart

hi, our guests often comment on how peaceful and quite our house is but if you are super sensitive to noise and light i cant guarantee that you will not hear something during your stay.
