We stayed one night at the desert camp. On arrival we checked in. Our tent was beautiful and clean. The outside kitchen was a very nice feature. When we had unpacked we noticed that there were no kitchen utensils or pots and pans. We went to the pool to cool down and asked on of the employees if we could...

Dear Christy, Thank you for the great rating and review! Glad you enjoyed our beautiful clean tents. Our staff at reception are suppose to inform you upon check-in of the utensil boxes if you are self-catering - our apologies that they didn't do that at your arrival. The fully refundable deposit is the same concept of paying a breakage fee...

We stayed here two nights. The tents are beautiful, peaceful and allow for a great experience. It was very hot and the fan did not help at all, so keep that in mind. While this location is away from the main camp in Sossusvlei it is much quieter than the main camp. We had our meals at the main camp...

We were at the desert camp in the last week of November and it was great ! We chose the DBB option which covers dinner and breakfast ( at the lodge) in addition to the bed (at the dune camp). It worked out perfectly . The dinner at the lodge is absolutely great with a whole bunch of options ....

Stayed 2 nights at a wonderful location. Experience tranquility with beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Chalets are comfortable and clean. Animals walk to waterhole within 50 meters of chalets. Very nice pool area and you can order your food requirements from nearby lodge, delivered at your doorstep. Enjoy a Southern African braai whilst watching a magic sunset.

Very nice place, although there are quite a lot of tents at Desert Camp, they are arranged in a way that it does not feel crowded, you rather feel lonely in the desert. Tent was very clean, kitchen and barbecue area perfect for a relaxed evening with self catering.

Do not stay here from October onwards. The temperature was 40 deg and much higher and inside the tent during the day. No protection from trees or a thatched roof. And if you are self catering NOTHING is provided, no cutlery, glasses, cooking utensils etc. Rush hour traffic to the Park starts at 5 a.m along the adjacent noisy dirt...

Dear Hoopahoopa, Thank you for your review. We do have utility boxes at reception at a fully refundable deposit containing everything you need for self catering. We stayed there one night only. It is in a lovely location, has a bar and a pool to cool off. This place is quite close to Sossusvlei park. The rooms are nice enough and when it is windy flaps a lot. Close to the gate of Sossusvlei and Sesriem it is a wonderful place to start a trip to the amazing dunes or the wonderful mountains. Very nice twin-bedded units with the possibility to do your own outside cooking/barbeque if you don't want to eat at the ca. 4 km away situated Sossusvlei Lodge. Very nice personel, friendly and very helpful!...
