Today (Sunday) we visited this hotel for lunch....3 adults &1 child. Having Coeliacs Disease, I always enquire what the GF options are (if any). The waitress assured me that "everything" on the menu was, she had another customer in earlier, and yes, she had asked the chef, and "everything" was. I asked, could she ask the chef for his advice,... More

The Greville Arms is conveniently located on the N55 Midway between Athlone and Dundalk. It was recently taken over by new management and for the first time in decades it now offers accommodation. The hotel was once owned by the Kiernan family and Kitty, Michael Collins's fiance lived here. The bar and lounge area is compact in size and the... More

Unbelievable. I checked with staff before 6pm Saturday shutdown... "No food after 5:30" "Bar closed 6pm" "Hotel no guests" "Too quiet to pay staff" Is this a 'ghostel'? Seems they've just given up on the hospitality business.

I have read some bad things about this hotel. However the hotel is full of history and it is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are clean and welcoming. The staff are amazing they work very hard and nothing is too much trouble for them. They go out of there way to make your stay good. I went with my 2... More

I have stayed at the Greville Arms several times over the past year and have been very happy with their hospitality. As a student, I was most concerned with the cost. Considering they are the only hotel for many miles, the Greville Arms keeps their prices very reasonable without sacrificing quality. I stayed in many hotels in Ireland over the... More

Arrived in the afternoon to be told the bar would close in 10 mins no food served after 6 pm . Two of us in a group of six could not unlock our door, and the same result when the one and only staff member tried to open it. She then rang the 'manager' who told her to try it... More

When we arrived we were shown to our room on the top floor, we asked if we could have a room on the second floor, we were told that they could swap rooms with someone else as he hadn't booked in yet, we had the second floor room, the bar was open, ( it was tea time) so we expected... More

We were not sure how this booking would work out - but we were pleasantly surprised by this well run intimate hotel. Friendly and very helpful staff. We stayed for one night and found the room very comfortable. Slept great on the bed and the bathroom was spacious enough. The room over looked the town but there was no problem... More
