Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice room, comfortable beds, delicious breakfast+++, very friendly/helpful staff+++, convenient to Mount Usher Gardens, lovely patio with beautiful flower boxes! Many thanks to staff member who checked me in to assure I was able to have dinner just as the kitchen was closing- plus gave me excellent alternative directions to the airport which was most appreciated! Breakfast staff were cheerful and friendly! Thank you ladies, for providing me with tips to avoid penalty charges going across bridge to airport and giving me good advice where to find something I needed for my trip.

This place is so awesome! Booked last minute for our 1st stop on our honeymoon and am so happy I did! The general manager was so kind and friendly. The room is super cute and comfy. Best part is the shower/bath with its amazing water pressure and hot tap that stays hot! Had a really tasty dinner of steak and Guinness pie with mashed potatoes and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Restaurant staff is amazing and super efficient. Best stay I've had at a hotel in a long time! Thank you Michael and Chester Beatty staff!!!!

Just had a weekend stay in the Chester Beatty, I couldnt recomend this any more. The level of service from the staff from young & old was amazing. Everyone was friendly and couldnt be more helpful, nothing was a bother. The lady at breakfast asked if we had a nice evening & we just mentioned we were too hot so she said she would say it to housekeeping, by the time we went up stairs the lady in housekeeping was aware of it & when we got back to a lovely refreshed room that afternoon we were greeted to a fan turned on cooling down the room. The bar & reastaurant staff were so friendly & effiecient & the food was of a very high standard but was very good value. I look forward to revisiting this hotel & area in the future as there is plenty to do with Brittas bay beach only a few minutes away & Mount Usher gardens only accross the road form the Inn both defineltly worth a visit

We stayed in Room 110. It was very quiet clean and comfortable. The beds and pillows were great. The included breakfast was amazing. It was in the full service restaurant and we had a hearty Irish breakfast. They even could accommodate gluten free. The staff were very friendly.

Just back from a wonderful stay at the Chester Beatty Inn. I stayed two nights and it was lovely and quiet too. Had meals in the restaurant on two evenings and the food was delicious as was the service. The young staff who work there are very good indeed, no complaints at all. Would definitely recommend either staying there or dining there or both. Such a wide choice for breakfast and dinner. Will be back again for sure even it is just to eat there, well done to all concerned.

Excellent one night stay on a visit to Wicklow for a wedding of friends. Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming - noticeable in all areas from reception to bar and restaurant for breakfast. Room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Great night sleep in very comfortable beds. Bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated and was faultless. Great selection for breakfast and we enjoyed every bit of it. Would highly recommend.

The Chester is a tradition pub/restaurant/hotel located, in Ashford, about 30min outside Dublin, a convenient distance after disembarking the ferry. We were a little concerned after all the notices about the lack of staff and restaurant closure, however, we stayed on a Saturday and were unaffected. Our greeting was warm and friendly and everything was adequately explained. The room and bathroom were large, nicely decorated and clean with a bath and shower, small TV, large safe, bottled water, hair dryer and tea and coffee facilities. The wifi was free with no sign up and there was a good wifi signal, capable of supporting streaming, VoIP calls etc. There is ample off road parking in a gated car park to the rear of the hotel, but no particular facilities for motorbikes. The restaurant has a good choice of food with ample portions and seemed very popular. There is also a good selection of dishes for breakfast. The pub was also a good size, modern, with plenty of settees to relax in, wood fire and many large screen TVs, showing different channels. Criticisms; could do with a few more clothes hangers, although we didn't ask.
