We stayed here beginning of March, so not yet the high season. The animals are still there, but you need to ask the owners for a view as the petting zoo is not yet officially open. It's nice with a lot sheep, bunnies, birds and two horses. It is a bit busy with three buildings, all with multiple rooms. The...

We stopped at Holmur Guesthouse as it is one of the few places to stay between Jokulsarlon and Hofn and we were looking for a farm stay. However, this is the only place we stayed on our entire trip in Iceland that was cold and unfriendly. Do yourselves a favour and drive a little further down the road and stay...

We stayed two nights in March to explore the surroundings. The guesthouse is about 30 min drive from Jokulsarlon lake and about an hour from Vatnajokull national park's main entrance (to Svartifoss and the ice cave and glacier tours). Although this may sound long there is actually almost no other guesthouse much closer to these locations. The guesthouse is in...

Just stayed one night and very much enjoyed it. You do share the house with others so a bit of noise. The hosts were really nice! We got there at 3pm starving do they gave us some eggs to boil! So sweet of them! Dinner was great! Breakfast was a bit limited! The scenery is breathtaking! Highly recommend!

We stayed at this guesthouse for 2 nights in early October 2016. Pros: This guesthouse was in a beautiful location with easy access to a glacial tongue. The Jon Riki restaurant is so beautifully decorated, and it was fun to listen to Maggi playing the piano. The breakfasts (extra charge) were good, with a nice selection of fruit (pineapple, yum!)...

We arrived after a full day and Farm Holmur was very welcoming. We were delighted with the restaurant - splendid view, fine food, craft beer and friendly service. The rooms are in an older house with a pleasant farm feel decor.

A lovely guesthouse with a beautiful restaurant, local music and home-brewed beer. The rooms were small and basic, but comfortable and clean. The washrooms were shared and there is a shared common room in the building we stayed in. It felt more like a hostel then a guesthouse.

We didn't stay at the farm, but the restaurant is amazing. They make their own beer (very good), and we had some fantastic lamb stew. We couldn't stop taking pictures of the incredible view (sheep! a glacier! rolling hills!) Definitely the perfect place to stop at the end of a long day of hiking.

This place is really a place, where I would like to spend more time if not the rest of my life. The guesthouse is situated near the Vatnajökull glacier with a great view on the ice fronts. The rooms are decorated with dedication and clean. It nearly feels like coming home, as we were situated in the house where the...

Sure, it could use a bit of sprucing up but the scenery is beautiful. The restaurant is recently renovated and food was good. A brewery is to open soon too. Easy day trips/activities near by. The farm and restaurant family run. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful views. Enjoyed waking up to the sheep. Huge fan of the cat.
