Detailed Reviews
Visited for a long weekend for the wedding of friends.
Two hours drive from Riga airport, and well into the countryside. A quite unique location and venue.
Lovely staff, who looked after us well, from reception, catering, bar staff brought in for the wedding, caretaker guy, chef, etc.
The food we had in the restaurant was excellent, as was the wedding celebration and next day barbecue food; just sorry restaurant wasn't open Sunday evening.
Unlikely to return as we don't know anyone else to get married there, but thoroughly enjoyed the site and facilities. Had a good bedroom with very dipped floor, so all furniture leant in to the middle of the room!
Only downside was that the Wi-Fi/Internet was incredibly slow/rubbish; could do with an upgrade.
Many thanks to the staff team for their long hours and hard work.

We stayed here for three nights, the hotel and grounds are quite stunning. There are also beautiful gardens and there is a forest and lake, so there is plenty to see and do.
My only disappointments were a tiny 20' TV in the room, only 2 hangers in the wardrobe, spare pillows but no pillow cases. It's an old house but some of the furniture in the bedroom should really be in the skip.
The Spa was a very nice experience, however like the rest of the house it could do with some investment. The breakfast was very good, the restaurant was also very good indeed, but service was very slow.
All in all we really loved staying here and would stay again, I would definitely recommend Marcienas Muiza for a nice weekend break.

Cozy manor house, pleasant ambiance, quiet and peaceful, nice rooms, super friendly and helpful staff, great restaurant. would prefer a bit more variety for breakfast but doesn't really matter if you stay just for a couple of nights.

Very nice and friendly staff, which is the greatest benefit of this place.
Room was cold, also the small pool, available for free in the morning, was cold.
Services in the SPA were absolutely inadequate to the price. Two micro saunas and very small pool with warm bath did not respond the SPA status.
Bikes offered for rent were in terrible technical condition.
Expected authentic local breakfest - omlette made of powder, apricote jam and Italian ciabatta instead.

The only thing that matters at this hotel is location, location, location a place of bliss - peace, dream and enjoy pure. However, in the restaurant nothing works (not recommended) and in the bathroom you jump from one drop to another in the shower, an absolute no go. Also the breakfast an absolute no go.

One of the best experience in the restaurant, the food was the best and very delicious. Chocolate fondant was the best desert what i have ever tried.Highly recommend this place for dinner or other special occasions, it would be great chose.
The SPA area was nice and really calm, it is possible to enjoy Jacuzzi, two saunas, salt room and swimming pool. Really enjoy salt room what was mysterious and really relaxing. The time suggest to reserve before arriving.

There is no need for TV in this hotel/manor. All year around there was many things to enjoy: in winter best was pool and massage trestment, in spring I enjoyed walking and exoloring nearby community of forest, bird songs and even orthodox church.
I have been here 3 times in last 13 years and service leven have been kept or even better every time. This time my lagguage was carried to the room by the Chef, doors for big baby trolley was opened by waiter. And waiter Maris is one of the reason to visit this place. He knows how to make to relax: he was appointing private room for dinner and breakfast for me and my 6 month old baby girl so we can enjoy mealtimes, keeping attention by serving everything in time and was very nice at conversations. By the way, he is here for 12 years and you can feel his professionality in every step.
Here I enjoyed most of latvian specialities: fish (store) was excellent, cold meet (aukstā gaļa) for breakfast they make themselves, curd with sour cream (biezpiens) is on of best I have eaten lately.
Recommendation. If you visit this place with small kids and want to use pool&spa, book SPA house which is separate building and you do not need to cross courtyard to come to the room.

Visited this place with our friends just for couple of hours accompanied with bathhouse attendant.
While sauna could have been hotter for our liking the peaceful location, company and beautiful surroundings made it up for it.
Overall, sauna experience for us (locals) was too weak, but for our foreign friends just right.

Lovely room, lovely little manor with good breakfast buffet and helpful staff. The surroundings were lovely also and it's a 10 minute drive to Madonna. Enjoyable stay in every way! We would love to return one day.
