The dorm/tent room was great for a 'hostel', the bathrooms were amazing! Staff were so so friendly and very helpful. Definitely do the bull shark scuba dive. I have never scuba dived before and was absolutely terrified (to the point i was crying before getting...More
Most remotely beautiful island is home to the most epic bull shark feeding dive. The professional friendly dive crew were amazing and I felt 100% safe the whole time. Go and see these majestic sharks in their natural habitat. It was truly spiritual knowing that...More
This resort is so stunning! It was so nice and calm with beautiful dorms/tents and so many activities. If you are a scuba diver this place is really good, however a bit expensive but really cool dive sites. Went on a bull shark dive and...More
We stayed at BKR for 7 nights. Fantastic staff generally who will go extra miles to assist us with a baby. Transfers were good. Activities are good. Few things could be improved in the restaurant for e.g. offering a la carte menu for stay in...More
What a morning! A 7am transfer from our island to Kuata. Into the dive shop with a seamless registration and gear up. The guys at Barefoot were very accommodating even though we were not guests of the resort.
On the boat a thorough dive brief...More

Pretty sure it is. People go on day trips to the island specially for the shark snorkel so it’s around 11am if I remember correctly. Then you finish the snorkel and have lunch before the boat leaves again in the afternoon. There are many day trippers who come for the snorkel and lunch so it’s not an unusual request they will definitely be able to accommodate you.
The shark DIVE is earlier than the boat arrives if I remember correctly, around 8/9 so mainly for the people staying on the island. However the dive shop owners seemed very accommodating so might be worth a call/ email if you wanted to do the dive. I would have thought they might sort something out for you.
We stayed on the island for 3 nights and had the most amazing time so if you can stay for a night at least I would highly recommend.

The Yasawa Flyer II is operated by Awesome Adventures Fiji and departs Denarau Marina every day at 0830, arrives Barefoot Kuata approximately 1015. This is the only ferry service operating daily to the Yasawa Islands.
Other options are to charter a water taxi also from Denarau Marina - Mamanuca Express or Sea Fiji are a couple of these operators.
Travel by Seaplane is also another option. Flights operate 2-3 times per day by Pacific Island Air operating from Nadi Domestic Airport and Turtle Airways operating from Wailoaloa which is approximately a 20 minute drive from Nadi Airport. A 20 minute scenic flight from Nadi to Barefoot Kuata.
