The CLC World resort is an excellent resort within easy walking distance of Fuengirola town. The San Diego Suites are first class, spacious, very comfortable, some with a pleasant private outside space including jacuzzi. They are always very clean and the domestic staff are very attentive and helpful. On the rare occasion we have had a problem, the maintenance team arrive within the hour to sort the problem out. The surrounding gardens with water features are beautifully kept by the gardeners, enhancing the peaceful experience.
In this complex there is a large safe swimming pool with attendant, pool bar, gym, spa, small shop and the Sunset restaurant and bar. Apart from CLC organised trips, if you want to go it alone, the bus services to neighbouring towns are very efficient and cheap as is the railway to Malaga airport and town.
We have holidayed with CLC World for 16 years and always look forward to our time with them. The staff are very friendly, there are bars and restaurants to cater for all tastes and the Reception and Concierge teams ensure nothing is too much trouble. All in all, a great place for a holiday.

The apartment was absolutely gorgeous, ground floor, our own well maintained garden and a small jacuzzi, which was tended to everyday. The main restaurant was the Safari, decent price for really top quality food, served in a friendly, and timely manner. The pool area, although spacious, seemed a little tired at the rear of the property, but not ugly. All the staff from the maids to reception were always accommodating, friendly and willing to help. All in all the 7 nights went too quick and we can't wait to see what other CLC World resorts are like around the globe once the coronavirus "does one" and the world is a safer place to travel around... Be safe and enjoy!

Once again on arrival at Santa Cruz reception it was like we had never been away, named & faces are not forgotten & we felt like family.
Nothing was too much trouble & we were treat to the usual drinks along with a nice bottle of bubbly for the anniversary.
Apartment as normal beautiful ,view was gorgeous, overlooking pools & sea view.
This membership is the best thing myself & my wife could have signed up for & would recommend to anyone wanting to have not only the quality but quantity of holidays you deserve.
The staff at no point were pushy ,they explained in detail any updates & changes to memberships.
They again made us feel comfortable & answered all of our queries.
Jane,Chris & all the other staff in members lounge are very knowledgeable & so lovely to talk to ,as are all others ,sorry too many names to mention.
Again all I can say is do & in our opinion you will not regret it.
Please tell them while meeting to discuss memberships”what you can afford & what you are looking for”
They are not mind readers, they will then be in a good position to advise you & not try to give you something that you don’t want, this saves time going forward.
Ask all questions you need & listen to other members when your around the restaurant, pool etc.
Thousands of members can’t be wrong some have been part of CLC since 1998 so ask questions.
There always negatives, however that said,if you find one speak to the reception or your concierge’ believe me they will go out of their way to fix it.
Do it ,or at least enquire ,have a free holiday & make your own decision.
It’s a try & but situation, but if you don’t then it’s your problem, just keep on paying for all those expensive package ,all inclusive s that you don’t use all the benefits of.What a waste of money. There are so many benefits /positives of becoming a member.
These you will find out when you visit.
Don’t listen to the moaning people who don’t get there own way because of stupid thing like a spider in the bath or just like moaning all the time, just try it for yourself & make your own mind up.Also transport is easy to get on resort, there is a rd train during the week every half an hr,taxi to fuengirola is approx €7 or walk for 15 minutes from the last stop to get there.
Bus to fuengirola is approx €1.50 just outside resort above beach.
Lacala is opposite way bus ride €3 each ,nice Irish bar ,Biddie Mulligans, good food.
Markets of which are many & very reasonable prices.
Always entertainment on in the sunset lounge.

Recently stayed and the resort is by and large clean and tidy. The prices are typical for a captive audience so I can’t complain. I hired a car so I could do a proper food shop so really didn’t need to use their restaurant and bar.

Shame really, as we enjoyed the piano chap singing but the bar prices are relatively high. It may be why many didn’t come and attend. I’m sure the summer trade does better, when the actually open the pool bar and what not.

Now, the bad side. There’s a smell in the rooms and I’m told it’s the smell that comes back from the sewers through the waste. Isn’t this why you have traps? Anyway, it was mild but meh. But. The knives.... do you deliberately blunt the kitchen knives? I’m all for safety but I couldn’t slice a tomato with the knife. That’s just crazy. Finally, your rusty gym is woefully out of date. Could you at least get some proper dumbbells or an Olympic bar with a selection of weights?

For timeshare it’s ok, but if this was a one off rental on Airbnb then it’d be slammed far harder.

Reception staff were impeccable however.

Over the past few years we have been able to spend several months over winter at CLC World in their San Diego suites on the Costa del Sol. We have always found the service and friendliness of all staff to be exceptional. Particularly impressed with the Signature/ Concierge/ Reception teams which we found always willing to help and were a great source of local knowledge.
The accommodation is of a high standard and is what we have come to expect at all their resorts.
The free nightly entertainment features a varied choice of quality acts.
The resort is about a 20 minute walk from Fuengirola which is the nearby town.

I went to Wyndham Residences with my daughter and granddaughters. It seems to be a complex of residences of various little estates apartments either privately owned or rented. It is very hilly and a free train ride is provided. The train starts at the Guest Services where the Safari Restaurant is located. The guest services can provide you with a schedule. I think every half hour but there is no train at lunchtime nor at a certain time in the evening.
There are 2 sets of suites, you can use any facility at each from each other.
We were in the "San Diego Suites" apartments. The other was called "Santa Cruz Suites".
They had 3 pools, one for the small children and a big adult one in the San Diego suites, they had a Games Room for teenagers and a restaurant called Mediterraneo which provided entertainment in the evening, singers, movie nights on Tuesdays and Thursday where they erected a giant screen and provided popcorn and drinks. During the day there was aqua aerobics etc. And there also seemed to be another restaurant the Lounge Bar which was quieter though they had singing also there.
In the Santa Cruz suites, they had three pools also but smaller for the children and an adult pool, they also had aquarobics and water polo. In Santa Cruz there was a pool bar which only served drinks no food and then the restaurant called Safari, which provided breakfast, lunch and dinner. All a la carte - prices from average to expensive but very good food. Both restaurants the Mediterraneo and the Safari were very good. There was a minimarket which provided just essentials beside the guest services.
We used to use either one or the other facilities at the two suites. You could take the towels provided by the pool at the San Diego pool and take them to the Santa Cruz one, but you had to take them back to the San Diego pool.
The apartment was a one-bedroom apartment with a sofa bed. We were two adults and two children. It had a kitchen which had, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and freezer and all the utensils. Iron and ironing board and a safe.
You needed a car to go to a bigger supermarket out of the complex if you wanted things like meat or chicken but vegetables, fruit, butter, milk, bread etc you could buy from the small minimarket. They provided fresh bread every morning.
Or like we did we had breakfast in the apartment and lunch and dinner at the restaurants, we did not really want to cook.

We spent a fortnight in the Signature Suite 540 in San Diego Suites. We have been members of Club la Costa Vacation Club for 20 years and this is our first stay in a Signature Suite.
The two bed apartment was beautifully designed and laid out. The kitchen appliances were all of high quality.
In the bedrooms there was plenty of storage space. The beds were extremely comfortable, with beautifully fluffy pillows and high thread count linens. Robes and slippers were provided.
The en suite bathroom had a spa bath with a shower over it, Jack & Jill sinks, shaving mirror & hair dryer. The shared bathroom had a sink & walk in rain shower. The toiletries provided are from the White Company.
The terrace is large and well appointed, with a gas BBQ, day bed, loungers, a Jacuzzi, dining table to seat 4; it is very private but overlooks the sea.
There was daily housekeeping service, bed linens changed twice weekly, towels changed daily, full clean weekly.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All of the restaurants and bars were open but the winter closures were due to come in as we left.
We used public transport for the duration of our stay, getting out to Fuengirola, La Cala de Mijas & Malaga.

We were moved here after originally booking Benal Beach Benalmadena. Apartment was lovely but nothing was open apart from 1 restaurant and 1 mini market which was a 15 minute walk from our apartment. If we had known this before arrival we would not of gone because the lo cation means you either have to get taxis into la cala or into fenguirola . We got there on the Monday to find that the only restaurant doesn't open on Mondays so we were left with no option but to get a taxi out of the resort so we could get something to eat.
They do run a resort train but that is only every hour and doesn't run between 12-6 and with the resort being on a hillside it's not a leisurely walk to the market.
They did try to offset the fact that nothing is open by giving you free snacks and drinks around the pool which is a good touch but still doesn't compensate for everything being closed.
So if you are going there please be aware that to eat in different restaurants you will need to go off the resort.

PROS: great location, between the towns of Fuengirola and La Cala de Mijas. Superb train service between Malaga Airport & Fuengirola. Buses are less reliable but still good, taxis are relatively cheap and very reliable. The resort itself is well maintained, with courteous professional staff who do everything in their gift to make your stay special.
We stayed in San Diego Suites, we could only get a split between two different apartments over the two weeks but were advised of this situation on booking. On the day we transferred, we packed everything up (including perishable foods in a bag in the fridge) then went out for the day after handing our keys in at Guest Services. On our return, at 16.30, we collected the new keys from Guest Services and found all of our belongings transferred into the new apartment. So beautifully done!
From front desk to housekeeping and groundkeeping staff, the standard of professionalism is very good.
CONS: the resort is very hilly. There is a small road train which you can use to move around the estate itself, though.
I've still to find sharp kitchen knives in the apartments (a pet peeve of mine!)
I tend to carry a knife sharpener with me.
We did come across one member of staff who was less than attentive but discussed and resolved this with Guest Services.
The menus in the onsite restaurants are less than inspiring but there is a good family run restaurant within 5 minutes' walk of the complex (Las Colinas del Faro).

On balance, I would recommend this resort to anyone planning to visit the Costa del Sol.

We stayed here in May this year and although we enjoyed it, we wouldn’t rush back. We found that the size of the place was so huge that it was almost overwhelming when we first arrived. There is a train go take you around but it is so terribly slow. We wanted to be somewhere where we had the option to stay in the complex or go out, however with only one of the restaurants being open on the complex even though there was about 4, and Safari which was open has ridiculous prices and a requirement to book it you wanted to go, it made us need to go out more than we wanted. Also, this is not close to fuengerolia, it took us nearly an hour to walk there along dual carriageway. Prices around the pool for drinks was crazy. Nearly £10 for a cocktail. We were recommended a cute little restaurant on the complex which wasn’t actually owned by whyndham residence. It was up past Santa Barbara suites next to the supermarket and it was lovely, definitely recommend. The maids only came once in our stay and when they left I could barely tell they had been, they didn’t even empty the bins. Not entirely sure why people rave about this place as we are easily pleased, it was nice but nothing special.

Dear Guest Thank you for taking the time to submit a review and we are sorry to hear your experience did not live up to expectations. It is true that the Wyndham Costa del Sol complex is large but we do provide guests with a map and as you stated there is also an on road resort train. We have been busy working on all of our onsite restaurants and there are now 3 restaurants open. We do recommend that guests hire a car to fully appreciate the area but there are also public transport options available including a bus that runs from the road in front of the resort directly into the centre of Fuengirola. Kind regards
