Far from the city streets, nestling in the countryside, lies the Zirmerhof, a place of retreat at 1,560 m. Here you find true luxury: space – time – peace – simplicity – relaxation. Here, simplicity is what is unique and peace on the mountain is the real treasure. The combination of Alpine hotel, farm, vineyard and nature park is a journey through time with the beauty of yesteryear and the comforts of today.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Zirmerhof has more than 100 years of tradition. This was our fifth time in Zirmerhof and all the rooms we have stayed in are absolutely charming. The dining room is really stunning. Everything in the hotel is high quality, simple, understated luxury, nothing pompous. The food is delicious. The hotel is at about 1500 m, very peaceful. The view is absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is very warm, the owners and the staff are extremely friendly. Zirmerhof is truly a very special place.

Absolut beautiful Hotel high up in the Mountains with spa, outdoor Pool, Sauna and Great service. Delicious food, a good wine and the stay was perfect. If you are looking for a quiet retreat where one can relax, make long walks and enjoy the nature, while having all amenities that make the holidays a special treat at hand, this is the place to go.

We stayed here two nights on a walking holiday. The staff are uniformly welcoming, informed and professional. The original/modernised communal rooms are really excellent and some of the original, heritage rooms, like the library, are evocative and historically accurate. Original murals of a famous alpine legend in the dining room. Our room was reasonably spacious, quiet and very clean, but the bathroom arrangements needed attention, with a leaky shower valve making its presence known in the form of a regular flood. The food was a disappointment. Breakfasts, excellent: lunch packs generous: but the table d'hote dinner...oh dear. The triumph of style over substance, with cheffy variations on local dishes, generally under seasoned and focusing on meat. That being said, the variations offered for vegetarian and fish eaters were very appropriate. On balance, stay here: but it could be so much better with a little more attention to detail.

We went there with friends and after quite a long trip by car we arrived at an astonishing place with magnificent view over the Alps. We had a very nice room, old style but very cosy and clean and we slept very well as it was absolutely quiet. No noice at all! The food was excellent and local wines were of outstanding quality! Top service rounded up the impression!

This is a hotel that is redolent of tradition. Although the facilities have been updated to modern standards, the core of the building retains a strong sense of history. The dining room, in particular, is beautiful. The kitchen is exceptional, with local dishes taking pride of place on the fixed, half-board dinner menu. You need to understand that dinner starts each evening at 7pm, your table is allocated (with return guests taking those by the windows) and everyone moves through the courses together - so slow down, relax and enjoy the experience! Even the hungriest walker will be satisfied because the salad buffet with which the meal begins is both generous and wonderfully varied; indeed, more modest appetites have to be careful! There is a choice of wonderful walks from the door of the hotel .... a place to visit again and again.

We loved this hotel. Our friends had praised it and we are so glad that we acted on their recommendation. The location is lovely and we had a room with a beautiful view over the mountains. The decor is stylish and beautifully appointed. If you like old world charm, then you will love this place. We had a delicious lunch on the terrace and a delicious dinner in the beautiful dining room. A highlight for us was being served a hot chocolate pudding which was cut at the table. YUM! The outlook from the restaurant is beautiful and it's a pleasure to watch the changing mountain weather roll in and out. Breakfast the next morning was also good - lots of choice and great coffee. It's not cheap place to stay - but the experience is worth the money. We didn't use the spa, but it's beautiful - so don't miss out! Overall a gorgeous place to relax and unwind. We hope to return again another time - it's a very special place.

So many times I drove down the “alto adige” towards lake Garda, but never drove up on one of the hill sides. What a pity! I never know it would be so lovely up there. The Zirmerhof is a hotel placed on the edge overlooking the valley with a view in the distance you find the large peeks all the way from the Mountains of “Stubai” down towards Milano with the “Ortler” in the middle. Between sits the main valley with its citys of Merano, Bolzano and Trento. The hotel has a nice outdoor pool and a sauna area! Be aware it is table d’haut service, that means all guests get dinner at 7pm at the same time. If you like to have a modern room or one of the nice cabins what I would prefer tell them by your booking. All other rooms are really nice in a shabby chic style if you like that! My reccomondation - stay a few nights it's nice outdoor too.

Simply outstanding staff, a great owner and host, fantastic kitchen, strong sense of tradition in rooms and facilities, the food will win you in the end. If I can offer one comment for improvement, the guest WiFi system is outdated and is really finicky, as in every time you want to use it you have to do the whole logon deal.

We stayed in this lovely hotel for 4 nights and couldn't have been more pleased. The location is unbelievable and the staff faultless, we were quickly greeted by name and made to feel very special. The food was also brilliant, with everything sourced locally and the waiters gave well-advised wine suggestions, on one evening for the aperetif course we were invited to the wine cellar for a tasting of local wines, hams and cheeses, which was also a great opportunity to meet other guests and speak with the owners. There were fantastic hikes straight from the doorstep, with no need to use our car unless we wanted to and there were also free mountain bikes at our disposal. However the highlight of the hotel is the spa area which is very tranquil and had many nice touches such as complimentary herbal teas. We stayed in the 'room Petit' and the room itself had a lovely authentic feel with an enormous, comfortable bed and balcony with great views. The only thing I would say is that the ensuite was fairly basic and small but it did not detract from the charm of the room at all. Overall we had a very memorable stay and would definitely come back.

My wife and I were staying here for 2 nights as part of a hiking holiday. It is difficult to write a review of this hotel, the staff and the dining experience without over use of the word excellent and professional. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was beautifully kept and the food was of an exceptionally high standard. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area - or I would suggest that it is worth visiting the area just to stop at this hotel. Amazing!
